Abstract

The present invention relates to a novel device for applying a makeup-removing liquid to eyelashes, optionally eyebrows, and the area around the eyes, one part of the device being disposable. The device includes an applicator end piece (1) comprising a hollow rod (2), the free blind end of which is laterally perforated (2a), thereby establishing communication between the inside and the outside of the hollow rod, and which is covered with a fibrous material (3) capable of absorbing the makeup-removing liquid, and a vessel (4) for receiving the makeup-removing liquid and engaging with the opposite end (4a) of the hollow rod, and characterized in that said vessel is provided with a pump (5) for suctioning an appropriate quantity of makeup-removing liquid and for supplying same to the fibrous material by actuating the plunger (5a).

Description

The present invention relates to a makeup removal application device for the eyelashes, the eyelids, possibly the eyebrows, and the eye contour of which part is for single use. For removing make-up from the eyes, a fibrous pad is usually used on which a makeup remover liquid (water, micellar solution, lotion or milk, etc.) is deposited. This soaked pad is then rubbed on the eyelashes, eyelids and the eye contour so as to dissolve the present makeup (mascara, eyeshadow, eyeliner, pencil for the eyes ...), sometimes waterproof, which is then back absorbed by cotton.

Buffers currently found on the market are usually cut from a sheet of fibrous material, usually non-woven cotton, and are available in various forms: square, rectangular, circular, oval ...

They must, at the same time, be able to:

a) absorb the makeup-removing liquid and make sure that it remains accessible on the surface, b) return the liquid when pressed on the skin,

c) and absorb or wipe the dissolved makeup to leave the skin clean without irritating it.

To date, there is no truly satisfactory makeup remover to effectively remove makeup from the sensitive area of the eyes. Users can see and testify that frequently and despite a cleansing removed there are still residues on the eyelashes. It happens, more often, that an excess of cleansing liquid flows in eyes. There remains the need for an effective liquid makeup removal device while being simple, economical, more environmentally friendly and fast use.

The object of the invention is to improve the existing devices to obtain a good make-up removal by efficiently restoring the absorbed liquid without excessive dampening effect. The device of the invention makes it possible to rethink the removal of make-up from the eyes without it being restrictive or irritating to the eye or its outline. Other features and advantages of the invention will become apparent in the description which follows. N ORPORATION BY REFERENCE R For this purpose, the device of the invention comprises:

an applicator tip (1) comprising a hollow rod (2) whose non-emergent free end is perforated laterally (2a), communicating the inside and the outside of the hollow rod, and covered with a fibrous material (3); ) capable of absorbing the makeup removal liquid, and a reservoir intended to receive the makeup-removing liquid (4) and cooperating with the opposite end of the hollow stem (4a),

and characterized in that the reservoir is provided with a pump (5) for sucking up a suitable quantity of makeup-removing liquid and delivering it to the fibrous material by actuation of the piston (5a).

According to the invention, the hollow stem and the reservoir may be either permanently connected to one another or separable from one another, for example associated by an interlocking, clipping or screwing system. and in fact either the fibrous material alone (3) or the applicator tip as a whole namely the hollow rod (2) and the fibrous material (3) is disposable.

Other features and advantages of the invention will become apparent upon reading the description which follows, the attached drawings are given solely by way of non-limiting examples.

Figures 1, 2 show, in median longitudinal section, the structure of the application device of the invention and a first variant. In what follows, the term "cleansing liquid" should be interpreted as covering any make-up removal product fluid for the eyelashes, possibly the eyebrows, the eyelids and the eye contour in particular. These makeup removers are water-based and are conventionally in the form of emulsions which can be - either water-in-oil type, very effective because of the readily available external fatty phase - or, preferably, of the oil type in water, such as a micellar solution, namely oil droplets dispersed in an external aqueous phase which have the advantage of do not leave greasy deposits after use.

In FIGS. 1 and 2, firstly, the applicator tip portion and the reservoir containing the cleaning liquid have been identified in their entirety (1) and (4) respectively. The fibrous material (3) is the means of application of the makeup remover and makeup absorption carried by the applicator.

As will be seen in the more detailed description that follows, the applicator tip and the body can either be permanently connected to one another, or be separable from one another, possibly at the time of the application. application, each structure offering benefits.

More specifically, the reservoir (4) of which the applicator tip can be separable, consists of a hollow case and sealed, in this case cylindrical, open on the applicator and connected end to end to it to seal. It is provided with a dispensing pump liquid cleansing capable of being actuated to deliver the fluid by actuation of a piston, such as for example by simple pressure of a finger. In order to prevent the pump from being actuated by clumsiness, in particular when the device is transported as for example in a handbag, a make-up bag or a vanity case, it is known to use a device for protecting the pump actuating button such as for example a stopper or a stop. Connected to the applicator, the reservoir can then serve as a handle.

As illustrated, the applicator tip (1) has a hollow rod (2) in the axial extension of the reservoir which is in this case cylindrical and of circular section but may also have a different shape to best fit the shape fibrous matter as will be detailed later. The hollow stem (2) comprises one or more peripheral openings (2a) such as perforations or slots, which develop on the non-emergent portion of the rod opposite the reservoir, causing interior with the fibrous material (3) so as to impregnate it into makeup removal liquid, preferably in a uniform manner. The balls (5f), which serve here as valves, can block or let the liquid through the phases of operation.

The stops above the balls serve to hold the balls to prevent them from being entrained with the liquid.

The spring is used to push the piston back to its original position.

The piston is used initially to create the vacuum in the piston chamber to suck the liquid. Then, it is used to exert the pressure on the liquid to push it towards the exit, in the direction of the hollow rod of the applicator.

It will be noted that the pumps of the suction-pressing type require that they be primed. This operation consists of removing the air that is initially in the piston chamber to replace it with the liquid. In general, the pumps are made of plastic, except for the balls, which are made of steel, and spring, made of flexible steel. They are conventionally used in cosmetics to deliver liquids such as creams, perfumes ...

The fibrous material according to the invention is an absorbent material capable of absorbing the liquid makeup remover used. It consists of any absorbent material suitable for the application envisaged as example pgr and preferably one or more types of fibers, woven or nonwoven and which can also be a sponge. By fiber is meant any type of cellulosic fiber and / or synthetic. As a reminder, a nonwoven is a textile whose fibers are maintained randomly unlike woven textiles which are products obtained by weaving, knitting, tufting or seaming.

- fibers of animal origin, for example: silk, wool ...

- vegetable fibers such as cotton, linen, hemp, bamboo ...

- chemically modified or synthetic fibers: cellulose, viscose, polyamides, polyesters, fibrans ...

Preferably, the fibrous material according to the invention consists of cotton.

According to the invention, a microfiber is a very thin filament of polyamide (nylon, ...), polyester or other synthetic materials whose diameter is less than 10 microns.

In order to absorb it, the fibrous material must be appropriate to the nature of the makeup remover. If the latter is of the water-in-oil emulsion type, because of its external fatty phase, the fibrous material should be at least partially made of lipophilic fibers such as hydrophobic cotton, conversely, if the makeup-removing liquid is of the type oil-in-water emulsion, due to its external aqueous phase, the fibrous material must be at least partially made of hydrophilic fibers, for example hydrophilic cotton, linen, viscose or a polyester.

The fibrous material may have various forms, such as for example: tubular, flattened, pointed or have a first tubular portion extended by a second portion having a pointed or rounded end. It may also present on its surface reliefs more or less spaced to optimize the distribution of the makeup remover liquid around the eyelashes and eyebrows. The fibrous material advantageously has:

along the axis of the hollow rod around which it is located: a length of less than 50 mm, preferably of between 15 mm and 30 mm of a maximum width of less than 20 mm, preferably of between 3 mm and 8 mm;

and a thickness preferably comprised between 1 and 5 mm. To avoid excessive wetting, the amount of liquid dispensed by the pump is determined by the amount of fibrous material and its absorbency. For example, the amount of liquid absorbed by a hydrophilic cotton is several times the weight of cotton. By simple volume calculation the skilled person can adapt the amount of fibrous material depending on the volume of the piston chamber and vice versa. One can even consider an adjustable stop system for the piston so that the volume of makeup remover liquid delivered by the device is adaptable depending on the nature and the amount and the fibrous material used. The hollow rod may for example be made of polypropylene or any other material compatible with the liquid makeup remover. The length of the rod is between 10 and 80 mm, preferably between 15 and 50 mm, and its outer diameter is between 2 and 20 mm, preferably between 2 and 3 mm. The winding of a piece of fibrous material on the perforated surface of the hollow rod may, depending on the nature of the fibrous material, require or not a prior sizing of all or part of this end or fibers.

EXAMPLES

To ensure rigorous makeup removal test conditions, they were conducted on the same person, right eye compared to the left eye, and with a base of the same make-up on a base foundation and including makeup eyelid, a waterproof mascara, a black eyeliner, and a brown pencil for the eyes. The makeup removal liquid used is of the oil-in-water emulsion type, namely micellar water.

For each il, the cleansing operation has been renewed, in accordance with the instructions on the bottle of makeup remover, until the fibrous material used is able to know that it no longer appears staining.

3 comparative tests, each reproduced 3 times, were carried out using a device according to the invention comprising:

a hollow rod having a length of 25 mm, a diameter of 2 mm, split in two over a length of 12 mm

- and as fibrous material covering the perforated surface (slot) of the rod, ^'

a) hydrophilic cotton wadding (length 15 mm, thickness 2 mm) compared to commonly used commercially available cotton wool (7 cm / 7cm, thickness 2 mm)

b) woven linen (length 15 mm, thickness 2 mm) compared to square woven linen (7 cm / 7 cm, thickness 1 mm)

c) a hydrophilic polyester microfiber fabric (length 15 mm, thickness 1 mm) to a square of hydrophilic microfibres of identical nature (7 cm / 7 cm, thickness 1 mm)

Conclusions:

For much smaller amounts of fibrous material and systematically lower volumes of liquid makeup remover, only the devices of the invention make it possible at the same time to obtain:

a neat makeup without residue in the morning upon waking or after abundant rinsing of the eye with water

and without excessive wetting thus limiting the irritation of the skin under the eye.

The device of the invention makes it possible to significantly improve the makeup-removing properties of the fibrous materials used for makeup removal. Without wishing to establish any theory, it seems that the fact that the fibers are impregnated more evenly by the lateral perforations of the stem and by capillary action, from the inside from the hollow stem towards the outside, makes it possible to Unexpectedly, optimize their effectieae to effectively eliminate all types of eye makeup, even those resistant to water.

Claims

1) Device for applying a make-up removing liquid to the eyelashes and the eye contour and removing the latter, comprising:

- an applicator tip (1) comprising a hollow rod (2) whose non-emergent free end is perforated laterally (2a), communicating the inside and outside of the hollow rod, and covered with a fibrous material ( 3) capable of absorbing the makeup removal liquid, and a reservoir intended to receive the makeup-removing liquid (4) and cooperating with the opposite end of the hollow stem (4a),

and characterized in that the reservoir is provided with a pump (5) for sucking up a quantity of makeup-removing liquid and delivering it to the fibrous material.
