Description

A LAUNDRY WASHING AND DRYING MACHINE COMPRISING A CONDENSER
The present invention relates to a laundry washing and drying machine comprising a condenser providing the processing air to be condensed.
In laundry washing and drying machines, the laundry is placed into the drum moving in a tub and the drying process is realized after the washing and spin-drying processes. In the drying process, the processing air dehumidified in a condenser, preferably of air-cooled type, is passed over the laundry in the drum by applying a closed air circulation cycle by means of a fan. During the drying process, fibers and lint are formed as the result of laundry rubbing against each other or the drum and accumulate on the condenser by being carried with the drying air. The fibers and lint on the condenser are mixed into the water condensed in the condenser to be sent to the tub by means of a water discharge channel and discharged to the outside environment by means of a discharge pump. The condensate water mixed with the fibers and lint and accumulated in the tub vaporizes by contacting the hot air in the tub before being discharged to the outer environment. The water, taken from the laundry and condensed in the condenser during the drying process, returns onto the laundry as vapor. In other words, the dried laundry gets wet again. Moreover, the fibers and lint in the vaporized water mix with the processing air to accumulate in the condenser and decrease the drying efficiency. As a result of the fibers and lint accumulating in the tub, the fibers and lint remaining from the previous drying process stick onto the laundry in the next drying process. For example, dark-colored fibers and lint accumulating on white laundry or light-colored fibers and lint accumulating on dark-colored laundry causes user dissatisfaction.
In the European Patent No. EP2227584, a laundry washer/dryer is disclosed, comprising a condenser, a process air channel and at least one water drain channel that is connected to the tub by being separated from the process air channel and that delivers the condensate water to the tub.
The aim of the present invention is the realization of a laundry washing and drying machine wherein the efficiency of the condenser is improved and fibers and lint are prevented from accumulating on the laundry.
The laundry washing and drying machine realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, comprises a discharge hole situated at the lower side of the tub and providing the water to be discharged at the end of washing – drying processes, a discharge hose, a pump and a condenser activated during the drying process to condense the processing air; and the condensate water separated from the processing air in the condenser is sent towards the vicinity of the discharge hole at the lower side of the tub by means of a water drain channel. Thus, the condensate water coming from the condenser is directly filled into the discharge hose serving as a receptacle without accumulating at the bottom of the tub and is discharged to the outside environment from here by means of a pump.
In an embodiment of the present invention, one end of the water drain channel, the other end of which is connected to the condenser, is connected to the lower side of the tub, immediately next to the discharge hole.
In another embodiment of the present invention, a ball closing the discharge hole and preventing detergent leakage is placed into the discharge hose and the water drain channel is connected to the tub so as to be above the ball closing the discharge hole.
In another embodiment of the present invention, a neck extending towards the discharge hole at the lower side of the tub is provided and the lower end of the water drain channel is connected to the neck.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the lower end of the water drain channel is directly connected to the discharge hose and the condensate water coming from the condenser fills into the discharge hose without contacting the tub.
In the laundry washing and drying machine of the present invention, fibers and lint are prevented from accumulating in the tub and the condensate water vaporizing in the tub with the effect of the hot processing air is prevented from wetting the laundry.
The laundry washing and drying machine realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention is illustrated in the attached figures, where:

The laundry washing and drying machine (1) is horizontal axis and front loading type, and comprises a drum (2) wherein the laundry is placed, a tub (3) wherein the drum (2) moves, a discharge hole (4) and a pump (5) situated at the lower side of the tub (3) and providing the water to be discharged at the end of the washing and drying processes, a discharge hose (6) with one end connected to the discharge hole (4) and the other end to the pump (5), a circulation duct (7) wherein the processing air (PA) circulation, providing the drying of the laundry, is performed in the drying process after the washing process, an preferably air-cooled condenser (8) disposed onto the circulation duct (7) and providing the processing air (PA) to be condensed, a fan (not shown in the figures) that provides circulation of the processing air (PA) in the circulation duct (7), a heater (not shown in the figures) heating the processing air (PA), and an outer air line (not shown in the figures) that provides the condenser (8) to be cooled by means of the air received from the outer environment.
The laundry washing and drying machine (1) of the present invention comprises a water drain channel (9) with the upper end connected to the condenser (8) and the lower end to the lower side of the tub (3) in the vicinity of the discharge hole (4) or to the discharge hose (6), that provides the condensate water coming from the condenser (8) to be delivered to the discharge hose (6) before the pump (5) without accumulating in the tub (3).
In the laundry washing and drying machine (1), during the drying process, the processing air (PA) passing over the laundry and getting humid is condensed in the condenser (8). The lower end of the water drain channel (9) is connected to the tub (3) so as to be above the ball (10) at the position wherein the ball (10) closes the discharge hole (4) (Figure 1). Thus, the water drain channel (9) does not create an obstruction for the ball (10) to perform its normal function and the pressure applied onto the ball (10) by the water in the waste water pipe (B) during the washing process does not drop. The water in the tub (3) is discharged by the pump (5) at the end of the washing process, the ball (10) opens the discharge hole (4) and the condensate water coming from the water drain channel (9) is delivered to the discharge hose (6) through the discharge hole (4).
In another embodiment of the present invention, the laundry washing and drying machine (1) comprises a neck (11) extending from the lower side of the tub (3) towards the discharge hole (4) and the lower end of the water drain channel (9) is connected to the neck (11) (Figure 2). The condensate water coming from the condenser (8) passes through the neck (11) and the discharge hole (4) without contacting the tub (3) and is delivered to the discharge hose (6).
