Abstract

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft einen Kolben (1) für eine Brennkraftmaschine, wobei der Kolben (1) einen Kolbenkopf (7) und einen Kolbenschaft (15) umfasst und der Kolbenkopf (7) eine umlaufende Ringpartie (8) sowie einen umlaufenden Kühlkanal (5) aufweist. Zudem ist ein Ringträger (4) im Bereich der Ringpartie (8) vorgesehen. Erfindungswesentlich ist dabei, dass der Ringträger (4) einen Wandabschnitt (11) des Kühlkanals (5) bildet und somit in direktem Kontakt zum Kühlkanal (5) steht und der Kühlkanal (5) einen Querschnitt mit einer in einem mittleren Bereich des Querschnitts ausgebildeten Verengung (12) aufweist.
