Definitions
- Embodiments of the present invention relate to a health management support apparatus, method, and program for supporting health management based on blood circulation measurement.
- photographing means for photographing a skin image of a subject, a luminance value of a first color and a luminance value of a second color are obtained from the skin image, and the luminance of the first color
- a health management support apparatus comprising: a living action specifying means for specifying the living action; and an output means for outputting information representing the living action.
- the present embodiment relates to a health management support apparatus based on blood circulation that can be used, for example, at home.
- This apparatus irradiates the subject's skin with light, and measures blood circulation by image processing from the captured image (referred to as “skin image”). Specifically, an erythema index proportional to the hemoglobin content is calculated from the photographed skin image as a good blood circulation, and this is presented as a measurement result.
- this apparatus accumulates a history of erythema index information obtained by such blood circulation measurement and a history of life event information such as exercise and bathing. From this accumulated information, living behaviors that are effective in improving blood circulation are identified and output as information for supporting health management.
- FIG. 1 is a block diagram of a health management support apparatus according to the embodiment.
- the health management support device 10 includes a CPU 1, a storage device 2, a storage device 3, a photographing device 4, an image processing device 5, and an output device 6.
- the health management support device 10 is realized as a handy type device, for example. As shown in FIG. 2A, the health management support device 10 can be used by being held by a person. FIG. 2A shows a state in which blood circulation measurement is performed with the health management support apparatus 10 facing the back of the subject's hand. As can be seen from the figure, blood circulation measurement can be performed on the subject without contact, and as a result of the measurement, for example, “blood circulation index 95” is displayed on the output device 6. This numerical value corresponds to the erythema index, and how to calculate this based on the photographed skin image will be described in detail later.
- the output device 6 displays not only the blood circulation index (erythema index) but also information for supporting the health management of the subject. This information corresponds to the identification result (estimation) of the living behavior that supports the improvement tendency or deterioration tendency of the blood circulation, and is displayed together with the information of the blood circulation measurement result. This point will also be described in detail later.
- the configuration in FIG. 2A corresponds to the health management support device 10 having all the components shown in FIG.
- a CCD (charge-coupled device) camera 44 and a white LED (light-emitting diode) 40 are built in as the photographing device 4, and a display is provided as the output device 6.
- a part of the components shown in FIG. 1 may be external devices, and signals may be communicated between the devices by wire or wirelessly.
- FIG. 2B shows a configuration example of the optical system of the photographing apparatus 4.
- the light LA emitted from the white LED 40 passes through the light shielding plate 41 that shields light from the side opposite to the white LED 40, reflects off the half mirror 43, and enters the subject 42.
- the subject 42 is the back of the subject's hand.
- Part of the light LB reflected from the subject 42 passes through the half mirror 43 and enters the CCD camera 44. Of the reflected light from the subject 42, the light reflected by the half mirror 43 is blocked by the light shielding plate 41 and does not enter the white LED 40 side.
- the CCD camera 44 performs a photographing operation with respect to the incident light LB, and photographs a photographed image of the subject 42, in this example, a skin image of the back of the subject's hand. Note that the skin image may be captured when the subject or the like presses (releases) a measurement execution button (not shown).
- CMOS complementary metal-oxide semiconductor: complementary MOS
- the light source for irradiating the subject's imaging target region with light is not limited to the white LED, and other types of light sources such as three-color light may be used. Or it is good also as a structure which does not provide the light source which irradiates light to a imaging
- the configuration of the health management support device 10 is not limited to that shown in FIG. A person skilled in the art can make various changes to the present embodiment so that blood circulation measurement and health care support are applied to other devices.
- the blood circulation measurement and health management support functions based on the photographed skin image may be realized by computer software.
- a program for causing the computer to function as the health management support apparatus according to the present embodiment is recorded on a recording medium or the like (not shown), and the program is read to the storage device 2 and executed by the CPU 1.
- the image processing device 5 obtains the luminance value of the first color and the luminance value of the second color from the skin image photographed by the photographing device 4, and the luminance value of the first color.
- the brightness value of the second color is converted into an absorbance, and the hemoglobin content is calculated from the two absorbances.
- the hemoglobin content is an erythema index based on the two extinction rates.
- the first color is, for example, red of the three primary colors of light
- the second color is, for example, of the three primary colors of light, green.
- the image processing device 5 calculates the first reflectance from the luminance values of the three primary colors red in the skin image, and calculates the first absorbance from the first reflectance.
- the second reflectance is calculated from the luminance values of the three primary colors in the skin image, and the second absorbance is calculated from the second reflectance. Then, the image processing device 5 calculates an erythema index based on these first and second absorbances.
- the storage device 3 stores the first history of hemoglobin content calculated by the image processing device 5.
- the storage device 3 also stores a second history of the life events of the subject.
- the CPU 1 determines the significance of the tendency of the hemoglobin content based on the first history of the hemoglobin content accumulated in the accumulation device 3, and determines the living behavior corresponding to the significance of the life event of the subject. Specify based on the second history.
- the output device 6 outputs information representing the living behavior corresponding to the significance of the tendency of the hemoglobin content specified by the CPU 1.
- the imaging device 4 captures a color image of the skin by irradiation with white LED polarized light as shown in FIG.
- the image processing device 5 reads the photographed color image (s1), and calculates the luminance values Sr and Sg for each channel of the three primary colors (RGB) of light (s2).
- the luminance value Sr corresponds to red in the three primary colors of light
- the luminance value Sg corresponds to green in the three primary colors of light.
- the luminance values Sr and Sg may be average values of the luminance values of the pixels, respectively. That is, the average value of the luminance values of the red pixels may be set as the luminance value Sr, and the average value of the luminance values of the green pixels may be set as the luminance value Sg.
- the image processing apparatus 5 calculates the reflectances Rr and Rg according to the following equation (1) (s3).
- the reflectance is the luminance value (Sr, Sg) of the reflected light of a certain surface with respect to the luminance value of the reflected light of the white surface.
- the luminance value of the reflected light on the white surface is “255”, for example.
- the reflectance takes a value from 0 to 1, and approaches 1 when the reflectance is large, and approaches 0 when the reflectance is small.
- the image processing device 5 calculates the absorbances Ar and Ag according to the following formula (2) (s4).
- the erythema index EI Ag ⁇ Ar (3)
- the erythema index EI is less affected by melanin and is roughly proportional to the amount of hemoglobin.
- the erythema index EI calculated by the image processing device 5 is used as an index representing the goodness of blood circulation.
- the correction coefficient ⁇ is a coefficient for subtracting the influence of the amount of melanin.
- the blood circulation measurement result obtained as the erythema index EI based on the image processing is accumulated in the accumulation device 3 via the storage device 2.
- the storage device 2 reads the history information of the erythema index accumulated in the accumulation device 3.
- the CPU 1 determines whether or not the tendency of the erythema index is significant in the history of the read erythema index (s6).
- the significance of the tendency of the erythema index various evaluation scales such as an improvement tendency of blood circulation and a tendency of deterioration can be considered.
- the significance of the tendency of the erythema index may be determined by threshold processing.
- the threshold of the erythema index is set in advance for the determination condition of the improvement tendency of blood circulation. For example, if the erythema index is 100 or more for the past three days, it is determined that the tendency of the erythema index is significant.
- a change rate such as “the average value of the erythema index this week is 1.1 times larger than the average value one week ago” may be used as a condition.
- the CPU 1 applies the rule as shown in FIG. 5 to the history of the life events of the subject stored in the storage device 3, for example, to determine the erythema index determined in (s6). Identify living behavior that corresponds to the significance of the trend.
- “Rule 1” in FIG. 5 indicates that the number of times e 3 (d) of the bath e 3 on the measurement date (d) is 1 or more and the number of times e 3 (d-1) of the bath e 3 on the previous day (d-1). Is 1 or more and the number of times e 3 (d-2) of bathing e 3 on the day before measurement (d-2) is 1 or more, that is, a record of bathing for the past three consecutive days including the measurement date If confirmed, the rule is considered to have an effect on blood circulation improvement. With reference to the rule for determining such blood circulation improvement or blood circulation deterioration and the living behavior history information, the CPU 1 identifies the living behavior that meets the rule (s7). The identification of the living behavior corresponding to the significant tendency of the erythema index is not limited to that based on the rule shown in FIG. Instead of such rules, other types of information such as models and mathematical formulas may be used.
- the user displays the date, start time, end time, contents of the life event (eg, massage) on the same display as the output device 6, etc. Enter the information.
- a user may input living activity information through a device connected via a network, or may input living activity information using other media.
- the output device 6 displays information 81 representing the specified living behavior as shown in FIG. 8 (s8) and also displays an erythema index (blood circulation index “95” in this example) 80 (s9). If it is determined that the above-mentioned tendency of the erythema index does not satisfy the condition and is not significant (s6), the output device 6 displays only the information 80 representing the erythema index (s9).
- FIG. 9 shows the results of a measurement experiment using the health management support apparatus 10 according to this embodiment.
- the blood circulation state was measured for the four parts of the cheek, abdomen, wrist outside, and toes at normal times, after bathing, and after massage, it was found that the value of the erythema index EI increased.
- the improvement of the blood circulation state could be confirmed even in parts of the body that are strongly influenced by melanin such as the cheeks and the outside of the wrist.
- the health management support device does not require special techniques and medicines such as blood collection and jelly application, which have been required for conventional measuring instruments.
- FIG. 10 is a graph showing the relationship between the wavelength of light and the extinction coefficient for hemoglobin and melanin.
- the solid line is the extinction coefficient of hemoglobin
- the dotted line is the extinction coefficient of melanin.

Abstract
