Abstract

본 발명은 절대 위치 측정 방법, 절대 위치 측정 장치, 및 스케일을 제공한다. 이 스케일은 제1 폭을 가지고 제1 상태를 나타내는 제1 심볼(symbol), 상기 제1 폭을 가지고 제2 상태를 나타내는 제2 심볼을 이용하여 N 스테이지(stage)의 선형 피드백 천이 레지스터의 시퀀스를 가지고 반복적으로 배치된 의사 잡음 코드(Pseudo-random-code)를 대체하여 형성된 스케일 패턴을 포함한다. 제1 심볼은 2 개 이상의 제1 심볼 영역들로 분할되고, 제2 심볼은 2 개 이상으로 제2 심볼 영역들로 분할되고, 제1 심볼과 상기 제2 심볼이 중첩되어 동일한 구조를 가지는 중첩 영역이 적어도 하나는 존재한다.
