Description

A RACK SUITABLE FOR USING IN A DISHWASHER AND THE DISHWASHER WHEREIN THE RACK IS USED
The present invention relates to a rack comprising a carrier that provides the plates to be placed thereon and to be washed and a dishwasher wherein the rack is used.
In dishwashers, the plates should be arranged in the rack without contacting one another in order to effectively clean the plates that are placed into the rack. In the state of the art, vertical wires are provided on the base of the rack. The plates are provided to be washed by being placed between these wires in the vertical direction without contacting one another. However some inconveniences are encountered in placing plates having different depths and widths than one another into the rack. This situation results in the interior volume of the rack not being utilized efficiently.
In the state of the art European Patent Application No. EP0729725, a dish holder is described, that is suitable for being used in the dishwasher rack, providing the dishes having different depths and widths than one another to be placed thereon and to be washed.
The aim of the present invention is the realization of a rack comprising a carrier that enables plates having sizes different from each other to be placed thereon and the dishwasher wherein the rack is used.
The rack realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, is suitable for using in the dishwasher, and comprises a carrier having at least three facets, more than one holder group whereon plates with different sizes are placed and washed and having at least two positions wherein one of the holder groups is made usable by seating one of the facets on the base. The user seats the facet on the base where the appropriate holder group will be in the active position depending on the size of the plates to be washed. By means of the holder group, the plates with different dimensions are provided to be placed into the rack such that less space is occupied in the rack. Consequently, effective utilization of the rack interior volume is provided.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the holder group comprises more than one slit wherein the plates are seated. The plates are provided to be carried on the carrier in a balanced manner by seating the plates into the slits.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the widths of the slits are equal to one another. Thus, the plates having the same depth are provided to be arranged one after the other.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the widths of the slits are different from one another. Thus, the plates having different depths are enabled to be placed on the same holder group.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the distances between the slits located on the same holder group are equal to one another. Thus, the plates having the same depth are provided to be placed into the slits adjacent to one another.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the distances between the slits are different from one another. Thus, the plates having different depths from one another can be loaded on the carrier without contacting one another by being placed into the adjacent slits. Thus, the maximum number of plates as possible is provided to be washed by being loaded on the carrier.
In another embodiment of the present invention, there is more than one holder group, each being situated on one facet.
In another embodiment of the present invention, one holder group extends between two adjacent facets.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the carrier is shaped as a hollow triangular prism with two open sides. The carrier has three facets wherein different holder groups are made active by seating each one on the base. The holder group has slits that are formed on the connecting line of the adjacent facets. The carrier is rotated around its horizontal axis, providing one facet thereof to be seated on the base and thus is changed to the available position for placing the plates on one holder group. Each holder group is suitable for placing plates with different dimensions. Accordingly, the user is provided with the opportunity of using the interior volume of the rack effectively by activating the holder group suitable for his/her requirements.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the carrier is produced from plastic. Thus, the carrier is provided to be light-weight.
The dishwasher of the present invention comprises a rack as described in the above-mentioned embodiments.
By means of the present invention, a rack is realized that comprises a carrier whereon plates with various dimensions are provided to be placed in a balanced manner, thereby providing effective utilization of the interior space.

The elements illustrated in the figures are numbered as follows:
  1. Dishwasher
  2. Rack
  3. Base
  4. Facet
  5. Holder group
  6. Carrier
  7. Slit
The rack (2) is suitable for use in the dishwasher (1) and comprises a base (3) whereon the items to be washed are placed.
The rack (2), furthermore, comprises a carrier (6) having
  • at least three facets (4, 104, 204),
  • more than one holder group (5, 105, 205), each one being suitable for placing plates with different dimensions and
  • at least two different positions wherein each facet (4, 104, 204) is seated on the base (3) and one of the holder groups (5,105, 205) becomes active.
One of the holder groups (5, 105, 205) is changed to the position convenient for loading plates thereon by seating one of the facets (4, 104, 204) on the base (3). Since each holder group (5, 105, 205) is suitable for loading plates with a different size, the user provides the holder group (5, 105, 205) suitable for the size of the plates to be washed to be changed to the active position by changing the facet (4,104, 204) of the carrier (6) seated on the base (3). The interior space of the rack (2) is provided to be used effectively by means of the user being able to select the holder group (5, 105, 205) that is suitable for the plate size to be washed. Furthermore, the user is provided with the opportunity to arrange the interior volume of the rack (2) according to his/her requirements by means of the carrier (6). The carrier (6) can be stored by taking out of the rack (2) when not desired to be used.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the holder group (5, 105, 205) comprises more than one slit (7) wherein the plates are seated. The plates are provided to be carried on the carrier (6) by placing one plate into each slit (7). The plate at least partially bears against at least one wall of the slit (7) wherein it is placed. The slit (7) provides the plate to be carried on the carrier (6) in a balanced manner by supporting it.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the widths of the slits (7) are equal to one another. Thus, when one of the holder groups (5, 105, 205) is changed to the active position, the plates with almost the same dimensions can be loaded on the carrier (6).
In another embodiment of the present invention, the widths of the slits (7) are different from one another. Thus, when one of the holder groups (5, 105, 205) is changed to the active position, the plates with different dimensions can be loaded into the slits (7).
In another embodiment of the present invention, the distances between the slits (7) are equal to one another. Thus, plates with equal depths are enabled to be placed into the slits (7) that are adjacent to one another.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the distances between the slits (7) are different from one another. Thus, the plates having different depths from one another are provided to be loaded on the carrier (6) by being placed into the adjacent slits (7) without contacting one another. Consequently, washing effectiveness is also improved.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the rack (2) comprises more than one holder group (5, 105, 205), each being situated on one facet (4, 104, 204).
In another embodiment of the present invention, the holder group (5, 105, 205) extends between two adjacent facets (4, 104, 204).
In another embodiment of the present invention, the carrier (6) is shaped as a hollow triangular prism with two open sides. The carrier (6) has three facets (4, 104, 204) that are adjacent to one another. The holder group (5, 105, 205) comprises the slits (7) that are formed between two facets (4, 104,204) so as to intersect the line connecting the two adjacent facets (4, 104,204). The carrier (6) is shaped almost as equilateral triangle prism and when one of the facets (4, 104, 204) is seated on the base (3) by being rotated around its horizontal axis, the holder group (5, 105, 205) remaining opposite that facet (4, 104, 204) is changed to the active position. The carrier (6) can be positioned in three different positions inside the rack (2) wherein a different holder (5, 105,205) is activated by seating each of its facets (4, 104, 204) on the base (3). Each holder group (5, 105, 205) is of suitable configuration for holding plates with different depths and widths. For example, the first holder group (5) serves for holding flat and small plates, the second holder group (105) for holding medium-width and deep plates, the third holder group (205) for holding big and flat plates. Consequently, the interior space of the rack (2) is provided to be used effectively by providing the placement of an optimum number of plates on the carrier (6).
In various embodiments of the present invention, the carrier (6) is produced from plastic. Thus, a carrier (6) is formed that is both lightweight and that can be cleaned easily.
The dishwasher (1) of the present invention comprises a rack (2) as described in the above-mentioned embodiments.
By means of the present invention, the interior volume of the rack (2) is provided to be used effectively by means of the carrier (6) having holder groups (5, 105, 205) that are suitable for placing plates of different dimensions.
It is to be understood that the present invention is not limited to the embodiments disclosed above and a person skilled in the art can easily introduce different embodiments. These should be considered within the scope of the protection postulated by the claims of the present invention.
