Description

  • The present invention relates to a glass holder suitable for use in dishwashers.
  • In dishwashers, washing is performed by spraying water on the items to be washed. Efficiency is increased by decreasing the washing process duration through high water flow rate. However, items are sometimes dashed due to the impact of sprayed water. This may lead to damaging of fragile items. Such fragile items require being placed with care in a washing cabinet in order to prevent them from being damaged in the dishwasher. Therefore, several holder compartments have been developed enabling fixing of fragile items in the washing cabinet. Wine glasses are usually placed in glass racks in washing cabinets. Several holders have been developed with the purpose of washing wine glasses on glass racks. However, such holders occupy excessive space in the washing cabinet when not in use. Therefore, portable wine glass washing accessories placed in the washing cabinet are used. Wine glass accessories comprise surfaces on which wine glasses are placed. The surface structures sometimes lead to the wine glasses not being sufficiently cleaned. Also, in the drying process, drying problems occur since the mouth of a wine glass is partially closed, creating spots on the wine glass.
  • State of the art international patent application no. WO2016034200 mentions a portable wine glass holder suitable for use in a dishwasher, which is enabled to occupy a small space when not used.
  • The aim of the present invention is to realize a glass holder which can be used in dishwashers, enabling effective washing and drying of wine glasses.
  • The glass holder suitable for use in dishwashers realized to achieve the aim of the present invention and disclosed in the claims, comprises a body and a base. The body comprises two mutual pillars and a crosspiece provided between the pillars. The base is provided between the pillars. A plurality of wine glass holders utilized to grasp the stem portions of the wine glasses, are provided on the crosspiece. The base is fixed between the pillars.
  • The glass holder of the invention comprises at least one frame provided on the base, and at least one support member placed on the frame. The support member is detachably placed on the frame. Items other than wine glasses can also be placed on the glass holder when the support members are detached from the frame. The support member has an open position in which it is biased, and a closed position in which it is parallel to the base.
  • In an embodiment of the invention, the glass holder comprises at least one protrusion provided on the support member. The protrusions move by sliding on at least one channel arranged on the base.
  • In an embodiment of the invention, the glass holder comprises a channel biased from the floor of the base to its surface. By this, the protrusion moving on the channel is also enabled to ascend or descend in direction of the channel.
  • In an embodiment of the invention, the glass holder comprises a plurality of seats provided on the channel. The protrusions are fixed by being seated on the seats while advancing on the channel. The inclination of the support member is enabled to vary by means of the protrusions being seated in various seats while advancing on the channel.
  • In an embodiment of the invention, the glass holder comprises a support member capable of shifting from the open position to the closed position, or from the closed position to the open position thanks to the protrusion advancing on the channel.
  • In an embodiment of the invention, the glass holder comprises a support member on which wine glasses can be placed in closed and open positions.
  • In an embodiment of the invention, the glass holder comprises two support members mutually provided on the base.
  • The glass holder suitable for use in dishwashers realized to achieve the aims of the invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings, wherein:
    • Figure 1 is a perspective view of the wine glass holder in closed position.
    • Figure 2 is a perspective view of the support member and the base when the wine glass holder is taking open position.
    • Figure 3 is a perspective view of the wine glass holder in open position.
    • Figure 4 is an exploded view of the base and the support member.

  • The glass holder (1) suitable for use in a dishwasher, comprises a body (2) having two mutual pillars and a crosspiece extending between the pillars, a plurality of holder members (3) suitable for grasping wine glasses arranged on the crosspiece at their stem portions, and a base (9) arranged between the pillars, on which the bowl portion of wine glasses are placed. The base (9) is fixed between the pillars and forms a surface completely parallel with the floor. The glass holder (1) can also be used to fasten various items to be washed when it is not utilized for placing wine glasses thereon.
  • The glass holder (1) of the invention comprises a base (9) comprising a frame (4), and at least one support member (5) movably mounted in the frame (4) having a closed position (K) in which it forms a planar floor being flush with the frame (4), and at least one open position (A) in which it stands biased with respect to the frame (4) by moving inside the frame (4). The support member (5) can be attached on and detached from the frame (4) by the user. Various items of large volumes can be placed on the base (9) when the support member (5) is detached from the frame (4). The bowl portion of the wine glass rests on the support member (5) when the support member (5) is placed on the frame (4). The support member (5) can be biased in different angles on the frame (4). Bias angles can vary when the support member (5) is in open position (A). By this, wine glasses of various sizes can be placed on the glass holder (1). Washing and drying of the wine glasses placed on the glass holder (1) is more facilitated by means of the support member (5) being biased in open position (A). (Figure 1, Figure 2)
  • In an embodiment of the invention, the glass holder (1) comprises at least one protrusion (6) provided on the mutual edges of the support member (5), enabling mounting of the support member (5) to the frame (4), and at least one channel (7) provided on the frame (4), on which the protrusion (6) moves by sliding. The protrusion (6) is provided on the side surfaces of the support member (5) contacting the frame (4), and is seated on the channel (7) arranged on the side walls of the frame (4) contacting the support member (5). The protrusion (6) moves by sliding on the channel (7). Displacement of the support member (5) is thus enabled. (Figure 4)
  • In an embodiment of the invention, the glass holder (1) comprises a channel (7) provided on the mutual side edges of the frame (4), having a bias so as to ascend from the lower portion of the frame (4) to the upper portion. The channel (7) ascends from the floor of the frame (4) to the surface of the frame (4). By this, the support member (5) having the protrusion (6) seated on the channel (7), is enabled to take open position (A) in various angles.
  • In an embodiment of the invention, the glass holder (1) comprises a plurality of seats (8) provided on the channel (7), on which the protrusion (6) locks by being seated. The seats (8) on which the protrusion (6) rests are provided on the channel (7). By this, the protrusion (6) is enabled to be locked in the seat (8), and the support member (5) is enabled to be fixed in open position (A).
  • In an embodiment of the invention, the glass holder (1) comprises a plurality of seats (8) provided so as to ascend in direction of the channel (7), enabling the support member (5) to be fixed at different elevations. The seats (8) are provided along the inclination of the channel (7). By this, the seats (8) are at various elevations, and the support member (5) is enabled to be fixed at various elevations. (Figure 3, Figure 4)
  • In an embodiment of the invention, the glass holder (1) comprises support members (5) on which wine glasses can be placed in closed position (K) and open position (A). Wine glasses can be placed on the glass holder (1) when the support member (5) is in closed position (K) and open position (A). Better washing and drying of the wine glasses are provided when the support member (5) is in open position (A).
  • In an embodiment of the invention, the glass holder (1) comprises two support members (5) mutually provided on both sides of the pillars (4). The support members are mutually provided and have opposite biases with each other.
  • A glass holder (1) providing an improved washing and drying performance is realized with the invention. The glass holder (1) comprises a body (2) and a base (9). At least one support member (5) capable of having various inclinations, and a frame (4) on which the support member (5) is placed, are provided on the base (9). When the wine glass is placed on the glass holder (1), its bowl portion is placed on the support member (5). Wine glasses of various sizes can be placed on the glass holder (1) thanks to the support member (5) being capable of having various biased surfaces. Thus, the washing and drying performance of the glass holder (1) is also improved.

Claims (6)

  1. A glass holder (1) suitable for use in a dishwasher, comprising
    - a body (2) having two mutual pillars and a crosspiece extending between the pillars,
    - a plurality of holder members (3) arranged on the crosspiece, suitable for grasping wine glasses at their stem portions, and
    - a base (9) provided between the pillars, on which the bowl portions of the wine glasses are placed,
    - characterized by the base (9) comprising a frame (4), and at least one support member (5) movably mounted in the frame (4) having a closed position (K) in which it forms a planar floor being flush with the frame (4), and at least one open position (A) in which it stands biased with respect to the frame (4) by moving inside the frame (4).
  2. A glass holder (1) according to claim 1, characterized by at least one protrusion (6) provided on the mutual edges of the support member (5), enabling mounting of the support member (5) to the frame (4), and by at least one channel (7) provided on the frame (4), on which the protrusion (6) moves by sliding.
  3. A glass holder (1) according to claim 2, characterized by the channel (7) provided on the mutual side edges of the frame (4), having a bias so as to ascend from the lower portion of the frame (4) to the upper portion.
  4. A glass holder (1) according to claim 2 or 3, characterized by a plurality of seats (8) provided on the channel (7), on which the protrusion (6) locks by being seated thereon.
  5. A glass holder (1) according to claim 5, characterized by the plurality of seats (8) provided ascending in direction of the channel (7), enabling the support member (5) to be fixed at different elevations.
  6. The glass holder (1) according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized by two support members (5) mutually provided on both sides of the pillars.
