Abstract

Ein Kältegerät, insbesondere ein Haushaltskältegerät, hat wenigstens eine Lagerkammer (3), eine Verdunstungsschale (9) zum Verdunsten von aus der Lagerkammer (3) abgeleitetem Tauwasser, einen in thermischem Kontakt mit der Verdunstungsschale (9) angeordneten Verdichter (6) und eine Steuereinheit, die eingerichtet ist, den Wärmebedarf der Verdunstungsschale (9) abzuschätzen. Der Verdichter (6) ist zwischen wenigstens einem hoch effizienten Betriebsmodus und einem minder effizienten Betriebsmodus umschaltbar, und die Steuereinheit (13) ist eingerichtet, bei hohem Wärmebedarf der Verdunstungsschale (9) den minder effizienten und bei niedrigem Wärmebedarf den hoch effizienten Betriebsmodus zu wählen.
