  • smart grid applications For example, when an agent enters an area, such as a human soldier walking patrol through a valley or forest, the agent can transmit a query using the scalable wireless geocast protocol to the area or a sub-region of the area. Sensors in the area can deliver the query message to other sensors. The sensors within the addressed region can respond by transmitting back, utilizing the geocast protocol (or other appropriate messaging protocol), to the agent their responses containing the desired information.

Abstract

Selon la présente invention, des informations sont acquises d'un réseau de capteurs répartis géographiquement à l'aide d'un protocole de géocasting sans fil évolutif. Les réseaux de capteurs automatiques répartis géographiquement sont placés à des emplacements souhaités pour collecter divers types d'informations telles que, par exemple, des paramètres environnementaux, la température, l'humidité, la pluviosité, les signatures thermiques, des données vidéo, des données audio, l'activité sismique et/ou les conditions de vent. Pour acquérir des informations, une demande est transmise à la zone géographique dans laquelle les capteurs sont situés à l'aide du protocole de géocasting. L'envoi de la demande est basé sur un emplacement physique d'une région dans laquelle un réseau de capteur est placé, le type d'informations qui est demandé et/ou les conditions temporelles.
