- the wireless LAN module 12a receives the video signal from the router 30 and selects one of the three decryption units 14c to 14e of the DRM decryption unit 14 according to the DRM encryption format of the received video signal.
- DRM decoding is performed, and the DRM-decoded video signal is appropriately demultiplexed, and then one of the two decoding units 16c and 16d of the video decoding unit 16 is selected. Then, the video signal is decoded according to the compression format of the video signal, and the decoded video signal is sent to the video processing unit 18 a and the panel controller 18 b, and the video is output to the display 19.
- the video reception selection unit 11c causes the HDMI reception unit 12b to receive a video signal from the selected content source (BD recorder 40b), and the SW 13 is connected to the HDMI reception unit 12b.
- the received video signal is selected from any of the three decryption units 14c to 14e of the DRM decryption unit 14 (in this embodiment, the HDCP decryption unit). 14d) is selected, DRM decoding is performed, and the DRM decoded video signal is sent to the video processing unit 18a and the panel controller 18b, and the video is output to the display 19.
- the user of the monitor 10 simply displays the selected content simply by performing a content selection operation. That is, similarly to the operation on a normal television to which a plurality of content sources are directly connected, the user of the monitor 10 can switch between the access point and the content source as if selecting the content source directly.
- each of the STB 20 and the router 30 has characteristics. Since the STB 20 has a function of viewing a broadcast, the monitor 10 can directly use functions unique to the STB 20 such as a broadcast viewing function by directly connecting to the STB 20. Since the router 30 has a function of accessing the external Internet, the router 30 can access the Internet without using the bandwidth of another route. For example, although it is possible to access the router 30 via the STB 20, the transmission resources between the STB 20 and the router 30 are wasted compared to the case where the router 30 is directly connected.
- STB configuration Next, the configuration of the STB 20 will be described.
- a BD recorder 40a and a DTV / BS antenna 50 are connected to the STB 20 as content sources.
- the STB 20 encrypts the video signal from each content source for copyright protection.
- the video signal from the BD recorder 40a is decrypted by HDCP, and further encrypted by HDCP using different key information.

- the monitor 10 shown in FIG. 8 when a content source is selected by a user operation, an access point connected to the selected content source is identified, and the wireless LAN module 12a is identified. In addition to receiving the video signal from the access point, the content switching instruction unit 11d instructs the identified access point to transmit the video signal from the selected content source. Therefore, when the selected content source is a content source connected to the STB 20, the content switching instruction unit 11 d of the monitor 10 transmits a video signal from the selected content source to the STB 20. Instruct.

- the video signal appropriately encrypted according to the selected content source is transmitted from the wireless LAN module 28 to the monitor 10.
- MPEG2 or H.264 has already been used, such as a video signal from the media server 60. Since what is encoded in H.264 is a communication method widely known as DLNA, it is advantageous in terms of interconnection to apply different encryption such as DTCP-IP instead of encryption using HDCP.
- the router 30 shown in FIG. 1 does not perform decryption and encryption, the router 30 does not include a decryption unit or an encryption unit.
- FIG. 15 shows a display example of a content selection screen when the STB 20 stops functioning when the monitor 10 is connected to the router 30. Abstract
