Abstract

La présente invention concerne un procédé et un appareil permettant de convertir de l'énergie thermique en énergie mécanique dans un cycle de Rankine. Le procédé et l'appareil font appel à un fluide de travail qui comprend un oxirane fluoré. L'oxirane fluoré peut ne contenir sensiblement aucun atome d'hydrogène lié aux atomes de carbone et peut contenir d'environ 4 à environ 9 atomes de carbone. Le procédé permet de faire fonctionner une turbine et, dans certains modes de réalisation, de produire de l'électricité.
