Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung (10) sowie ein Verfahren für das Schneiden eines Dosenrohlings (11), wobei ein axialer Endabschnitt des Dosenrohlings (11) abgetrennt wird. Der Dosenrohling (11) wird durch eine Fördereinrichtung (27) während des Schneidvorgangs mit konstanter Geschwindigkeit um eine erste Drehachse (D1) bewegt. Als Schneidmittel (69) dient vorzugsweise ein Laserstrahl (71). Eine Umlenkeinrichtung (72), beispielsgemäß ein Facettenspiegel (75) mit mehreren Reflexionsflächen (74) lenkt dem Laserstrahl (71) an einem Fokuspunkt (F) im Bereich einer Dosenaufnahme (28) der Fördereinrichtung (27). Dort befindet sich die Mantelfläche (20) des Dosenrohlings (11). Durch die Drehung des Dosenrohlings (11) um seine Längsachse (D2) wird dessen axialer Endabschnitt (12) abgetrennt. Dabei wird das Umlenken des Laserstrahls (71) mit Hilfe der Umlenkeinrichtung (72) an die Drehbewegung der Fördereinrichtung (27) um die erste Drehachse (D1) angepasst, so dass sich der Fokuspunkt (F) des Laserstrahls bezüglich der Längsachse des Dosenrohlings (11) während des Laserschneidens nicht verändert, auch wenn sich der Dosenrohling um die erste Drehachse (D1) dreht, die mit Abstand zur Längsachse des Dosenrohlings (11) und vorzugsweise parallel zu dieser verläuft.
