また、風車翼の設計においては、風車翼の性能だけでなく、風車全体の信頼性の観点から、風車翼の翼根に生じるモーメントについても配慮する必要がある。しかし、特許文献1では、風車翼の翼根に生じるモーメントについての検討がなされていない。
また、本発明は、風車翼の翼根に生じるモーメント(荷重)を低減することができる風車翼およびこれを備えた風力発電装置ならびに風車翼の設計方法を提供することを目的とする。
すなわち、本発明の第1の態様にかかる風車翼は、翼根側に隣接する隣接部に対して先端側が翼背側または翼腹側に曲成されたウィングレットを備えた風車翼であって、前記隣接部の翼軸線の半径方向外挿線に対して前記ウィングレットの翼軸線が成す角度であるCANT角が15°以上55°以下とされている。

本実施形態の検討に用いたシミュレーションでは、設計周速比が8.0以上8.5以下、レイノルズ数が300万以上1000万以下とされている。なお、設計周速比は、翼端周速/無限上流風速である。風車におけるレイノルズ数は、所定の回転数で回転する翼の所定断面における相対風速度を考慮したものであり、下式にて表される。

空気密度×翼断面への相対風速度×翼断面のコード長/空気の粘性係数
同図において、左下の原点(1.0,1.0)としてbaseline_0.99の値を用いた。そして、この原点とbaselineの値とを通る直線(Extension)を引いた。この直線(Extension)よりも上側であればトルクが増大し荷重が減少することを意味し、下側であればトルクが減少し荷重が増大することを意味する。すなわち、直線(Extension)よりも上側がウィングレットによる効果が得られる領域といえる。同図から分かるように、CANT角75°及び90°は直線(Extension)よりも下側の領域であり、ウィングレットによる効果が発揮されないものとなっている。また、CANT角60°は直線(Extension)上にあり、ウィングレットによる効果が殆ど見られないものとなっている。
これに対して、CANT角45°,30°及び15°では、直線(Extension)の上側の領域であり、トルクが向上するとともに荷重が低減することになり、ウィングレットによる効果が発揮されている。このようにウィングレットのCANT角を適性に決定すれば、直線(Winglet)上に位置させることができる。この直線(Winglet)上で考えた場合、荷重一定でトルク(性能)が上がるようにCANT角を設定すれば0.3%性能が向上することになり、性能一定で荷重が減少するようにCANT角を設定すれば0.45%荷重が低減することになる。
CANT位置と同じ翼半径とされた基準翼(即ち0.98Rとされた翼半径の風車翼)に対して性能を評価すると、この0.98Rの基準翼に対してウィングレットを付加した構成となり翼半径が増大するので、性能向上が得られることは明らかである。これでは、ウィングレットによる効果を正確に評価することができない。
そこで、本実施形態では、CANT位置と同じ翼半径とされた0.98Rの基準翼ではなく、CANT位置よりも長い翼半径となる0.99Rを有する基準翼baseline_0.98と1.0Rを有する基準翼baselineを用いてトルクおよび荷重に対して効果が認められる範囲を規定し、トルク(性能)が増大するとともに翼根モーメントが減少するCANT角を設定することとした。これにより、ウィングレットによる効果を正確に評価することができ、適正なCANT角を決定することができる。
なお、本実施形態では、2つの基準翼(baseline_0.98とbaseline)を用いて評価することとしているが、他の設計基準を用いて図3に示した直線(Extension)を規定できる場合には、CANT位置よりも長い翼半径となる1つの基準翼を用いて評価しても良い。
ウィングレット3のCANT角を15°以上55°以下(好ましくは25°以上35°以下)とすることによって、翼先端の渦が低減され、性能(風車翼が発生するトルク)の向上および/または荷重(翼根モーメント)の低減を図ることができる。
本発明者のシミュレーションによれば、性能は最大で約0.3%向上し、又は、翼根モーメントは最大で0.45%低減する。
turbine)とされた場合、ウィングレット3を翼腹側に曲成させることとしたので、ウィングレット3の先端が風車タワーから遠ざかることになるので、風車タワーに対してウィングレット3が接触することを回避でき安全性を向上させることができる。また、風車タワーとの空力的干渉によって生じる騒音や、風車翼や風車タワーに生じる変動荷重を低減することができ、騒音低減および荷重低減を実現することができる。もちろん、風車タワーとの干渉の恐れがない場合等には、ウィングレット3を翼背側に曲成しても良い。
turbine)とされた場合には、ウィングレットを翼背側に曲成させることが好ましい。これにより、ウィングレットの先端が風車タワーから遠ざかることになるので、風車タワーに対してウィングレットが接触することを回避でき安全性を向上させることができる。また、風下風車とすることによって、風見効果(風向に対する追従性)が向上して風車翼や風車タワーに生じる荷重を低減することができる。もちろん、風車タワーとの干渉の恐れがない場合等には、ウィングレットを翼背側に曲成しても良い。

Claims (7)
- 翼根側に隣接する隣接部に対して先端側が翼背側または翼腹側に曲成されたウィングレットを備えた風車翼であって、
前記隣接部の翼軸線の半径方向外挿線に対して前記ウィングレットの翼軸線が成す角度であるCANT角が15°以上55°以下とされている風車翼。 - 前記ウィングレットは、その先端側に位置して翼軸線が略直線状とされた先端部と、その基端側に位置して前記隣接部に対して曲成された曲成部と、を有し、
該曲成部は、前記CANT角を満たすように漸次曲成されている請求項1に記載の風車翼。 - 前記ウィングレットが前記隣接部に対して曲成される開始位置であるCANT位置が、該ウィングレットのCANT角を0とした際の翼半径をRとした場合、97.0%R以上98.5%R以下とされている請求項1または2に記載の風車翼。
- 風車タワーの風上側に配置される場合、前記ウィングレットは、翼腹側に曲成されている請求項1から3のいずれかに記載の風車翼。
- 風車タワーの風下側に配置される場合、前記ウィングレットは、翼背側に曲成されている請求項1から3のいずれかに記載の風車翼。
- 請求項1から5のいずれかに記載された風車翼と、
該風車翼の翼根側に接続され、該風車翼によって回転させられるロータと、
該ロータによって得られた回転力を電気出力に変換する発電機と、
を備えている風力発電装置。 - 翼根側に隣接する隣接部に対して先端側が翼背側または翼腹側に曲成されたウィングレットを備えた風車翼の設計方法であって、
前記ウィングレットが前記隣接部に対して曲成される開始位置であるCANT位置よりも長い翼半径を有するとともにCANT角を0とした基準翼に対して、風車翼が発生するトルクが増大し、かつ、風車翼の翼根に生じるモーメントが減少するように、前記隣接部の翼軸線の半径方向外挿線に対して前記ウィングレットの翼軸線が成す角度であるCANT角を決定する風車翼の設計方法。
