- the radio wave transmission period (second period) at the time of the polling request is a period in which the reader / writer 50 starts transmitting radio waves and then transmits a polling request and receives a polling response from the IC module 10 for a predetermined period. Waiting until the end of transmission of radio waves. This transmission period is preset by a communication protocol.

Further, the IC module 10 may detect predetermined radio waves that are intermittently transmitted at predetermined intervals in order to save power consumption of the reader / writer 50.
- IC module 10 detects a predetermined radio wave due to noise mixing or intermittent transmission.
- a radio wave detected due to the mixing of noises 1 and 2 is assumed.

- the radio wave at the time of the polling request is transmitted over the transmission period (second period) set by the communication protocol. For this reason, when a predetermined radio wave is detected at the time of polling request 1, the host 20 determines that the timer value satisfies a predetermined condition. Therefore, the power supply to the IC module 10 is controlled (the power supply amount is increased) in order to shift to the communication state ST2.

To do.
- the non-transmission period (third period) of the radio wave between polling requests is a period from when the reader / writer 50 finishes sending the radio wave at the time of the polling request until it starts sending the next polling request radio wave. means. - the host 20 returns to the process of step S21 and determines whether a transmission end signal has been received.
- the host 20 executes the power control method shown in FIG.
- the IC module 10 detects a predetermined radio wave due to noise mixing or intermittent transmission.
- a radio wave detected due to the mixing of noises 1 and 2 is assumed.
- the IC module 10 supplies a transmission end signal to the host 20 when the predetermined radio wave is no longer detected, and the host 20 starts the timer 16 (or resets the timer value and restarts in response to the transmission end signal).
- the IC module 10 detects a predetermined radio wave again, it supplies a transmission start signal to the host 20, and the host 20 determines a timer value according to the transmission start signal.
- the host 20 determines that the timer value does not satisfy the predetermined condition. Therefore, in order to shift to the communication state ST2, the power supply to the IC module 10 is not controlled (the power supply amount is not increased).
- the IC module 10 detects a predetermined radio wave when a polling request is made.
- the radio wave detected when transmitting the polling request 1 is assumed.
- the IC module 10 supplies a transmission end signal to the host 20 when the predetermined radio wave is no longer detected, and the host 20 starts the timer 16 (or resets the timer value and restarts in response to the transmission end signal). to start.
- the IC module 10 supplies a transmission start signal to the host 20, and the host 20 determines a timer value according to the transmission start signal.
- the intermittent polling request radio wave is transmitted at a predetermined non-transmission period (third period) set by the communication protocol. For this reason, the host 20 determines that the timer value satisfies the predetermined condition when detecting a predetermined radio wave of the polling request 2 that is transmitted after a predetermined non-transmission period after the transmission of the radio wave at the polling request 1 is completed. . Therefore, in order to shift to the communication state ST2, the power supply to the IC module 10 is controlled (the power supply amount is increased).
- the IC module 10 establishes a communication connection with the reader / writer 50 by receiving the polling request 2 from the reader / writer 50 and transmitting the polling response 2 to the reader / writer 50 in the communication state ST2.
- the IC module 10 is in a state where detection is possible but communication is not possible before the transition to the in-communication state ST2, so that it cannot receive a polling request and establishes a communication connection with the reader / writer 50. Cannot be established.
- step S31 determines whether or not the transition from the pre-communication state ST1 to the in-communication state ST2 has occurred (or communication has been initialized) (step S31). The following processing is performed.

- step S33 determines whether a normal communication packet is received from the IC module 10
- step S33 determines whether a normal communication packet is received from the IC module 10
- the communication packet is communication information including a command, data, and the like transmitted from the reader / writer 50 to the IC module 10 when a communication request such as a write request or a read request is made.
- a normal communication packet is a communication packet assumed by an application running on the host 20.
- the host 20 has a timer value, that is, a period from the transition to the communication state ST2 until the first normal communication packet is received, or a period from the reception of the normal communication packet to the reception of the next normal communication packet. It is determined whether a predetermined period (fourth period) is exceeded.
- the predetermined period (fourth period) is a period longer than the reception period until the normal communication packet of the first communication request is received from the transition to the communication state ST2, or after receiving the normal communication packet of the communication request. This means a period longer than the reception period until a normal communication request for the next communication request is received.
- This predetermined period is set for each application being executed by the CE device 30 and is shared between the CE device 30 and the reader / writer 50.
- step S35 when the timer value satisfies the predetermined condition, the host 20 controls the power supply to the IC module 10 (decreases the power supply amount) in order to shift to the post-communication state ST3 (step S35).
- the IC module 10 shifts to the post-communication state ST3
- the communication function cannot be executed.
- the host 20 returns to the process of step S33 and determines whether or not a normal communication packet has been received.
- the host 20 executes the power supply control method shown in FIG. Incidentally, the IC module 10 must continuously receive power supply over a period assumed for data communication in the communication state ST2. However, if radio waves from other reader / writers 50 executing different applications are detected before the communication with the reader / writer 50 is terminated, the power supply is erroneously continued even though the communication connection cannot be established. May end up. Further, in the setting for continuing power supply over a certain period, if a setting corresponding to data retransmission or change of processing period is adopted, power supply may be continued more than necessary.
- the IC module 10 In the pre-communication state ST1, when the IC module 10 detects a radio wave that satisfies the predetermined condition described in the power control method in the pre-communication state ST1, the IC module 10 supplies a transmission start signal to the host 20, and the host 20 enters the communication state ST2. In order to shift, the power supply to the IC module 10 is controlled (the power supply amount is increased).
- the host 20 starts the timer 16 in accordance with the transition of the state. The host 20 continuously determines whether the timer value satisfies a predetermined condition until a normal communication packet is received from the communicating reader / writer 50.
- the IC module 10 When receiving the polling request from the reader / writer 50, the IC module 10 transmits a polling response to the reader / writer 50. Upon receiving a write request from the reader / writer 50, the IC module 10 supplies a communication packet to the host 20 following the interrupt signal, and then receives a communication packet for transmission from the host 20 and sends a write response to the reader / writer. 50. When receiving a read request from the reader / writer 50, the IC module 10 supplies a communication packet to the host 20 following the interrupt signal, and then receives a communication packet for transmission from the host 20 and sends a read response to the reader / writer. 50. When the IC module 10 does not detect a predetermined radio wave in the communication state ST2, the IC module 10 supplies a transmission end signal to the host 20.
- the host 20 receives a normal communication packet within a predetermined period, and after receiving the normal communication packet, the next normal communication within a predetermined period (fourth period). Receive the packet.
- communication packets at the time of a write request and at the time of a read request are received as normal communication packets.
- the timer value is reset and the timer 16 is restarted. For this reason, if the communication packet is received from the reader / writer 50 in communication, the host 20 determines that the timer value does not satisfy the predetermined condition. Therefore, in order to shift to the post-communication state ST3, the power supply to the IC module 10 is not controlled (the power supply amount is not reduced).
- the host 20 when the host 20 does not receive a communication packet from the communicating reader / writer 50 or receives a communication packet from another reader / writer 50, the host 20 cannot receive a normal communication packet within a predetermined period (fourth period). .
- a predetermined period fourth period
- the host 20 cannot reset the timer value and determines that the predetermined value (fourth period) has elapsed and the timer value satisfies the predetermined condition.
- the host 20 determines that the timer value satisfies a predetermined condition because it is not a normal communication packet. Therefore, in order to shift to the post-communication state ST3, the power supply to the IC module 10 is controlled (the power supply amount is reduced).
- step S41 determines whether or not a transition from the in-communication state ST2 to the post-communication state ST3 has occurred.
- step S43 determines whether a transmission start signal is received from the IC module 10 (step S43).
- step S44 resets the timer value, and restarts the timer 16.
- step S44 determines whether the timer value satisfies a predetermined condition until receiving the transmission start signal.
- the timer value that is, the period from the transition to the post-communication state ST3 to the first reception of radio waves, or the period until reception of intermittently transmitted radio waves exceeds a predetermined period (first period). It is determined whether or not.
- the predetermined period is a period of time longer than the period from the transition to the post-communication state ST3 to the start of transmission of radio waves at the time of the first polling request. To a period longer than the period until the start of transmission of radio waves at the time of the next polling request.
- the radio wave transmission interval at the time of the polling request is set in advance by a communication protocol, and the predetermined period is shared between the CE device 30 and the reader / writer 50.
- the host 20 resets the power supply to the IC module 10 in order to shift to the pre-communication state ST1 (step S45).
- the host 20 when the power supply is reset, only the detection function can be executed.
- the host 20 returns to the process of step S43 and determines whether a transmission start signal is received.
- the host 20 executes the power control method shown in FIG.
- the CE device 30, in the post-communication state ST 3 ends the communication with the reader / writer 50 and then attempts to shift to the pre-communication state ST 1 (communication standby state).
- the pre-communication state ST 1 communication standby state
- power supply may be continued.
- the CE device 30 is left in a position where radio waves from the reader / writer 50 can be detected, the state cannot be changed to the pre-communication state ST1 semi-permanently, and the power source is wasted for a long time.
- the IC module 10 When the IC module 10 detects the end of transmission of a predetermined radio wave in the communication state ST2, the IC module 10 supplies a transmission end signal to the host 20. Upon receiving the transmission end signal, the host 20 controls power supply to the IC module 10 (decreases the power supply amount) in order to shift to the post-communication state ST3.
- the host 20 starts the timer 16 according to the transition of the state.
- the IC module 10 supplies a transmission start signal to the host 20.
- the host 20 continues to determine whether the timer value satisfies a predetermined condition until receiving a transmission start signal.
- the host 20 resets the timer value and restarts the timer 16.
- the host 20 receives the transmission start signal within a predetermined period (first period) after the transition to the post-communication state ST3, and transmits the signal. After receiving the start signal, the next transmission start signal is received within a predetermined period (first period).
- a transmission start signal is received when polling requests 1 and 2 are transmitted. Each time a transmission start signal is received, the timer value is reset and the timer 16 is restarted. For this reason, when the CE device 30 is in a position where the radio wave of the reader / writer 50 can be detected, the host 20 determines that the timer value does not satisfy the predetermined condition. Therefore, the power supply to the IC module 10 is not reset (the power supply amount is further reduced) in order to shift to the pre-communication state ST1 (communication standby state).
- the host 20 sends the first transmission start signal within a predetermined period (first period) after the transition to the post-communication state ST3. After receiving the transmission start signal, the next transmission start signal cannot be received within a predetermined period (first period). In FIG. 10, the transmission start signal cannot be received after the polling request 2 is transmitted. Then, the host 20 cannot reset the timer value and determines that the predetermined value (first period) has elapsed and the timer value satisfies the predetermined condition. Therefore, in order to shift to the pre-communication state ST1 (communication standby state), the power supply to the IC module 10 is reset (the power supply amount is further reduced).
- the IC module 10 is in the state of waiting for the start of communication (pre-communication state ST1), and the result of the timer determination based on the detection information If the predetermined condition is satisfied, the power supply is controlled in order to start communication (the power supply amount is increased). As a result, even if a radio wave is detected due to noise or the like in the pre-communication state ST1, the power supply amount is not increased in order to start communication unless a predetermined condition is satisfied. The same applies when detecting intermittently transmitted radio waves.
- the power supply is controlled to end the communication (the power supply amount is reduced).
- the power supply amount is reduced.
- the power supply is controlled in order to end communication (the power supply amount is reduced), so it is necessary to continue power supply for a certain period. Disappears.
- the power supply is reset to shift to the pre-communication state ST1 and wait for the start of communication. Is done.
- the power supply amount is not increased in order to start communication when the predetermined condition is satisfied.

Abstract
