Description
Panzerungselement zum Schutz gegen ballistische Bedrohungen und ballis- tisch geschütztes Gehäuse mit einem Panzerungselement Armor element for protection against ballistic threats and ballistic protected housing with an armor element
The invention relates to an armor element for protection against ballistic threats with a welded via a welded mounting geelement. Another object of the invention is a ballistically protected housing, in particular vehicle housing, with an armor element with a welded via a welded mounting member. Armor elements of this type are often of plate-shaped geometry, made of a metallic material such as armor steel and are used in many areas to protect against ballistic threats, such as the protection of vehicles, bunkers, buildings, containers, camps and the like.
It is often provided that objects of various types are fastened to the armor elements within the area protected by the armor elements, that is to say, for example, in the interior of a driver's cab of a military motor vehicle. For example, seats, belt holders, fire extinguishers and other attachments of all kinds are attached to the armor elements. For this purpose, mounting elements are usually fastened via a welded connection to the armor elements, by means of which the objects can subsequently be fastened to the armor element, for example via a screw connection.
In this context, the weld between the armor element and the mounting element has proved to be disadvantageous because the structure of the base material of the armor element is adversely affected by the influence of heat during the welding process. Due to these influences, the ballistic protective effect of the armor element in the region of the welded joint is weakened compared to the pure base material, resulting in a ballistic weak point. It is an object of the invention to compensate in a simple manner for ballistic weak points caused by the welded joint. This object is achieved in an armor element of the type mentioned el ö st, that a welded joint as ballistic support overlapping covering element is provided. The covering element covers the ballistic weak point which arises in the area of the welded connection, which ballistically supports this area. The risk of ballistic missiles penetrating into the protected interior is reduced. The local overlap results in an improved level of protection in the area of the welded joint. The balistic weak point is strengthened by the overlap, so that in the area of the welded joints a ballistic protection level is easily achieved, which corresponds to each of the pure base material of the armor element. An embodiment of the invention provides that the mounting element is welded to the inside of the armor element. The weld joint located on the inside is not visible to external aggressors. The mounting element can be arranged on the threat facing away from the inside of the armor element and welded to the inside. The cover element can also be arranged on the inside.
An embodiment is advantageous according to which the mounting element has a thread. The mounting element may be provided with a thread in the manner of a threaded bush or in the manner of a weld. The thread allows objects of various types to be releasably fixed to the armor element from the inside. Depending on the nature of the object to be fixed to the mounting element, an internal thread and / or an external thread may be provided for fastening the object. A further embodiment provides that the mounting element is connected to the cover element. A compound of the cover element with the armor itself is not required. In the context, it is advantageous if the mounting element is integrally connected to the cover element. This results in a little manual assembly requiring assembly, since the mounting element does not have to be connected in a separate step with the cover element. In this context, it is further proposed that the covering element is designed in the manner of a radial extension of the mounting element. The radial extension can provide the required coverage of the weld joint. In particular, the radial extension may be of mushroom-shaped, ballistic threat-facing geometry.
Furthermore, it is proposed that the covering element is arranged on the outside facing the armor element facing the threat.
An alternative embodiment provides that the cover element is connected via a connection point with the mounting element. The Monatageelement can first be connected to the armor element and then the connection between the mounting element and the cover element can be made. This embodiment is also suitable as a retrofit solution for already in use mounting elements. Welding and / or screw connections are possible as the connection point.
In this context, it is proposed in a further embodiment of the invention that the cover element is formed as a disc. The Disc may consist of an armor material and surround the mounting element in the manner of a circumferential collar rosette-like.
A further embodiment provides that the covering element is designed as a conical disk, wherein the cone can open in particular in the direction of the armor element.
Furthermore, it is proposed that the cover element has an opening into which the mounting element engages for connection to the cover element. In the region of the opening, the covering element can be screw-connected to the mounting element and / or welded.
An embodiment which is advantageous for the ballistic protection level of the armor element provides that the overlapping element rests loosely on the armor element. While the cover element can be welded to the mounting element, it is advantageous if this rests loosely on the edge of the armor element. In particular, a Schweißverbindungsfreie arrangement against the armor element advantageous to not the structure of the base material of the armor element by such
Schweißverbindung negativ zu beinträchtigen. Negatively affecting the welded connection.
In this context, it is further proposed that the cover element is arranged on the inside of the armor element. In this way, the cover element is located in the protected interior and remains hidden from outside aggressors.
It may also be advantageous if the mounting element is inserted into an opening of the armor element. The opening may be formed as a through hole or as a blind hole. Already during the production of armor belts te, the openings can be introduced into this, creating a kind of predetermined hole pattern is created, which can use the fitter during the subsequent welding of the mounting elements, resulting in a simple, less error-prone mounting.
In this context, it is for a positionally accurate mounting of the mounting elements of advantage when the mounting member has a centering element which is inserted into the opening. The centering element may in particular be designed as a centering pin and have a smaller diameter than the mounting element.
In addition, in a ballistically protected housing of the type mentioned above for solving the above object, it is proposed that its armor element be designed according to one of the preceding claims.
The overlapping element provided on the armor element covers the ballistic weak point that results in the area of the welded joint, which ballistically supports this area. The cover results in a locally improved level of protection in the area of the welded connection. The ballistic weak point is strengthened by the overlap, so that also in the area of the welded joint a ballistic protection level is easily achieved, which corresponds to that of the pure base material of the armor element.
Furthermore, it is proposed that the mounting element is arranged in the connecting region of two armor elements and welded to both. The connection region can be, for example, a welded housing edge of a military motor vehicle housing. The above- Covering element can be connected in such a configuration by particular frontal screwing with the mounting element.
Advantageously, a plurality of mounting elements can be arranged in the connecting region of two armor elements along a connecting edge. The connecting edge of the armor elements may be formed by a weld, resulting in a ballistic weakening in the connection area. By suitable arrangement, both the welded joints of the mounting element with the armor elements and the connecting edge can be ballistically supported.
In this context, it is furthermore advantageous if the mounting element is connected to a covering element covering the connection region and the welded connection. The connection can be made in particular by means of screwing. Not only the weld joint of the mounting element with the armor elements is ballistically supported by the cover element in such an embodiment, at the same time there is also a ballistic support of the connecting edge of both armor elements.
Finally, it is proposed that the covering element is designed in the manner of a plate extending along, in particular parallel, to the connecting region. The plate-shaped covering element can cover the entire connecting region of two armor elements as ballistic support. The cover element can be connected in such a configuration with a plurality of mounting elements, wherein the edges of the cover element can lie loosely or schweißverbindungsfrei to the armor elements. Further details and advantages of an armor element according to the invention and of a plurality of such armor elements having housing will be explained below with the aid of the accompanying drawings of exemplary embodiments.

In Figur 1 dargestellt ist in perspektivischer Ansicht ein ballistisch geschütztes Gehäuse 50, welches mit einer Vielzahl von Panzerungselementen 1 zumShown in Figure 1 is a perspective view of a ballistically protected housing 50, which with a plurality of armor elements 1 for
Protection against ballistic threats is provided, which are designed as armor plates.
However, the present invention is not limited to use in the vehicle sector, but can be equally used in other areas, for example, for the protection of bunkers, buildings, ships, field camps and the like.
As can be seen from the enlarged view in FIG. 2, a multiplicity of mounting elements 2 with associated covering elements 4 are provided on the armor elements 1. First, covering elements 4 of substantially rosette-shaped geometry are shown in the region of the inside of the armor elements 1. In addition, in the connecting region 51 of two armor elements 1 cover elements 4 are shown, which are of rather elongated, plate-shaped geometry.
The functions of these and other covering elements 4 and associated mounting elements 2 will be discussed below with reference to the representations in Figures 3 to 8 in detail. In Figure 3, the inside of a plate-shaped armor element 1 in a plan view and in Figure 4, the armor element 1 is shown in a corresponding sectional view, with a grid of different mounting elements 2 is shown with associated cover elements 4 for illustrative purposes. About the mounting elements 2, various objects such as seats, belt holder, fire extinguishers and attachments of all kinds can be releasably fixed to the inside I of the armor element 1.
FIG. 5 shows, in an enlarged, sectional view, a mounting element 2 which is welded to the armor element 1 via a welded joint 3. The mounting element 2 is designed in the manner of a threaded bushing or a Schweißbutzens. The mounting member 2 is of a total cylindrical geometry and has circumferentially an annular welded joint 3, via which the mounting member 2 is fixed to the inside I of the protective plate 1.
Due to the effect of heat during the production of the welded joint 3, an impairment of the structure of the base material of the armor element 1 occurs in the region of the welded joint 3, which leads locally to a ballistic weak point there. This disadvantage is particularly relevant for armor elements 1 or armored steel thin-sheet structures of lesser thickness, which is why the present invention is particularly suitable for armor elements 1 having a thickness in the range of 3 mm to 10 mm, more preferably in the range of 5 mm to 8 mm and in particular Also suitable for the armor plates often used as armor elements 1 with a thickness of 6 mm, as shown in the figures. In order to be able to achieve the ballistic protective effect of the base material of the armor element 1 in the regions ballistically weakened by the welded joint 3, the covering element 4 is arranged opposite the welded joint 3 such that the welded joint 3 is covered in the direction of the threat. Due to the overlap of the covering element 4, the ballistic protective effect increases locally.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 5, the covering element 4 is connected to the mounting element 2 via a connection point 6, which is designed as a welded connection. The covering element 4 is a conical disk which, in the region of its inner opening, is guided over the mounting element 2 and connected thereto by welding. The cone of the cover element 4 opens in the direction of the armor element. 1 The edge of the covering element 4 lies loosely against the inner side I of the armor element 1. There is no welded connection in this area.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 5, the mounting element 2 is inserted from the inside I of the armor element 1 into an opening 7 of the armor element 1. The opening 7 can already be introduced into the armor element 1 during the cutting of the armor element 1, for example by means of a laser beam cutting system. During subsequent welding of the mounting member 2 to the armor element 1, the welder therefore only needs to use a centering element 8 in the opening 7, after which the mounting element 2 can then be welded in a defined position on the inside I of the armor element 1, which is a little error-prone, quick installation allowed. It is also possible to subsequently provide mounting elements 2 already in use with such a covering element 4. The centering element 8 is formed in the embodiment of Figure 5 as a bolt-shaped extension of the mounting member 2, which has a relation to the other mounting member 2 reduced diameter. The centering element 8 is arranged concentrically to the thread 5 of the mounting element 2. The thread 5 is a provided on the mounting element 2, formed in the manner of a threaded blind hole internal thread.
While the opening 7 is shown in Figure 5 as a through hole, it would also be possible to perform the opening 7 as a blind hole and introduce, for example by means of machining production process in the material of the armor element 1. The opening 7 would not be visible from the outside in such a configuration. Notwithstanding the embodiment according to FIG. 5, the covering element 4 in the embodiment according to FIG. 6 is connected in one piece with the mounting element 2.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 6, the opening 7 is likewise designed as a passage bore, wherein the mounting element 2 and with this the covering element 4 coming from the outside A of the armor element 1 are inserted into the opening 7. After insertion of the mounting member 2, this can be set on the provided on the inside I of the armor element 1 weld 3 on the armor element 1. The covering element 4 is configured in the embodiment according to FIG. 6 as a radial extension of the one end of the mounting element 2, which covers the welded joint 3 from outside the armor element 1 and insofar represents a ballistic support of the area of the armor element 1 weakened by the welded joint 3. The Cover element 4 is located on the outer side A of the armor element 1 facing the threat and has an approximately mushroom-shaped geometry. Similar to the embodiment in FIG. 5, the mounting element 2 according to the embodiment in FIG. 6 also has an internal thread 5 for the releasable fastening of objects.
FIG. 7 shows a further embodiment of a mounting element 2 and an associated covering element 4. Similar to the embodiment in FIG. 5, the covering element 4 is connected to the mounting element 2 via a connection point 6. The connection is made via an external thread provided on the mounting element 2, which engages in an internal thread provided on the covering element 4. The mounting element 2 is first welded via the welded joint 3 on the inside I of the armor element 1, after which the cover element 4 designed in the manner of a conical disk is screwed from the inside over the external thread of the mounting element 3 against the inside I of the armor element 1. The region of the junction 6 opposite edge of the cover element 4 is this loosely on the inside I of the armor element 1 at. In this embodiment too, a balistically assisting overlapping of the area of the armor element 1 that is ballistically weakened by the welded connection 3 results.
FIG. 8 shows the connecting region 51 of two armor elements 1. In the connection region 51, for example a corner of a housing 50, the two armor elements 1 are connected to one another via a weld 52.
Evident is a mounting element 2, the side with both the one, as well as with the other armor element 1 via corresponding welding bonds 3 is welded. In the area of these welds 3 results in a ballistic weakening of the armor elements. 1
This is compensated by the overlapping element 4 overlapping the welded joint 3, which in the embodiment according to FIG. 8 is designed in the manner of a flat plate. The covering element 4 is held in this embodiment by a plurality of mounting elements 2, which extend along the connecting portion 51. The connection is made in each case via bolts 9, which are braced against the mounting elements 2. The covering element 4 extends parallel to the welding point 52 provided in the connecting region 51 of the protective element 1 and not only covers this welding point 52 but also the welded joints 3, which is why special support for the ballistic protective effect by the covering element 4 results here.
