Abstract

Die vorliegende Erfindung schafft ein Fahrzeug mit einer im Kollisionsfall entlang eines Deformationswegs deformierbaren Fahrgastzelle (100-103, 112, 181-182). Die Fahrgastzelle (100-103, 112, 181-182) weist ein Dissipationsmittel (100-103, 112) zum Dissipieren von Kollisionsenergie durch ihre Deformation entlang des Deformationswegs auf. Weiterhin umfasst die Fahrgastzelle (100-103) ein Begrenzungsmittel (131) zur Begrenzung des Deformationswegs derart, dass in der Fahrgastzelle (100-103, 112, 181-182) ein Überlebensraum (142) um einen Fahrgast gewahrt bleibt. Die Erfindung ermöglicht auf diese Weise, bei einem Unfall die Struktur der Fahrgastzelle (100-103, 112, 181-182) selbst für den zum Schutz der Insassen notwendigen Energieabbau zu nutzen. Dies geschieht bei gleichbleibend hohem Insassenschutz und unter Verhinderung des Kontaktes des Fahrgastes mit intrudierenden Strukturen. Dadurch ist es möglich, durch Verzicht auf zusätzliche Deformationselemente die Fahrzeugmasse und den erforderlichen Bauraum zu reduzieren.
