- the sublicense issuance / update unit 540 refers to the acquired license table storage unit 550 and refers to the sublicense right range recorded in the license table and the sublicense issuance status (whether there is a terminal that is issuing the sublicense). (S2).
- the sublicense issue / update unit 540 determines whether or not the requested sublicense is available (S3).
- a “license ID” in which “issue status” is “issuable” and the value of “synchronous content ID” in “constraint condition” matches the content ID of the content to be reproduced. Is recorded in the license table, it is determined that it can be used. For example, when the value of the license table is the status of the license table S_L004_4, the “synchronous content ID” of the constraint condition where the value of “constraint condition ID” of “license ID” whose value is “ID_001_sub_01” is “ID_001_sub_01_Limit_001” The value of “Content_001” is the same as the content ID of the content to be reproduced. The “license ID” whose value is “ID_001_sub_01” is “issueable”. Therefore, it is determined that the sub license with “ID_001_sub_01” is available.
- the sublicense issue / update unit 540 updates the license usage state recorded in the license table (S4). Specifically, the sub-license issuance update unit 540 records “terminal ID” and “user ID” as “user information” with the “issue status” of “license ID” of the sub-license to be issued being “issuing”. To do.
- the license table value is updated from the license table S_L004_4 to the state of the license table S_L005 in FIG. 16 by updating the license usage state.
- the sublicense issue / update unit 540 determines whether or not there is a main license to be managed in association with the sublicense to be issued (S5).
- the main license to be managed in association is specifically the main license in which the value of “license ID” is not recorded as the value of “related license ID” in the hierarchy below the “license ID” of the sublicense. It is.
- the sub-license issue / update unit 540 associates the main license to be managed with the sub-license to be issued (S6), and proceeds to S7. .
- the process proceeds to S7 as it is.
- the sublicense issue / update unit 540 issues the sublicense to the subterminal 600.
- the sub-terminal 600 that has received the sub-license transmits a service request to the service providing server 300, and the service providing unit 310 that has received the request “the authority that the sub-terminal 600 uses the service (the authority to reproduce the content“ Content_001 ”). ) Is inquired to the license server 400. If there is authority, the service is provided to the sub-terminal 600 (S8), and the process is terminated.
- the process of S8 will be described more specifically as follows.
- the content playback unit 630 transmits the content ID “Content_001” and the license ID (“ID_001_sub_01”) included in the content usage condition information to the service providing server 300 to decode “Program 1”. Request to issue the necessary decryption key.
- the service providing unit 310 of the service providing server 300 reads the decryption key for decrypting the content data of the program 1 from the content table 320 and transmits it to the sub-terminal 600, and the sub-terminal 600 has started playing the program 1 To the main terminal 500.
- the content playback unit 630 of the sub-terminal 600 that has received the decryption key acquires the content data of the program 1 that has been encrypted by accessing the content acquisition destination URL included in the previously received content usage condition information. Then, the program 1 is reproduced with the decryption key.
- the service usage status change detection unit 520 of the main terminal 500 notifies the license authority control unit 530 that the content playback unit 510 has started playback of the program 2 (S21).
- the license authority control unit 530 records in the license table that the content to be reproduced has been changed (S22). Specifically, the license authority control unit 530 changes the value of “viewing content ID” in the hierarchy below “license ID” whose value is “ID_001_full_01” from “Content_001” to “Content_002”, The table value is set to the state of the license table S_L007 in FIG.
- the license authority control unit 530 confirms the usage status and usage status change content of the license ID (“ID_001_full_01”), and determines the presence or absence of the associated license (S23). Specifically, referring to the license table, it is checked whether or not “related license ID” exists in a layer below “license ID” whose value is “ID_001_full_01”. Since the current license table value is the license table S_L007, there are related license IDs whose values are “ID_001_sub_01” and “ID_001_sub_02”.
- the license authority control unit 530 is associated with the sub terminal 600 and the like.
- the contents that can be provided to other terminals are changed (S24). Specifically, the operation of S51 in FIG. 5C is performed, and information that the other terminal to which the license represented by the related license ID is issued can reproduce only the content “Content_002” is recorded in the license table. .
- the “synchronous content ID” value of the “restriction condition” in which the “synchronization license ID” is “ID_001_full_01” among the “restriction conditions” whose “license ID” is “ID_001_sub_01” is changed to “Content_002”.
- the value of the license table is set to the state of the license table S_L008 in FIG.
- the license update unit 620 of the sub terminal 600 transmits a license update request, which is a request for updating its own sublicense (sub license of “ID_001_sub_01”), to the main terminal 500.
- the sublicense issue / update unit 540 of the terminal 500 receives the license update request (S1).
- the sublicense issue / update unit 540 refers to the service usage status of the sublicense of “ID_001_sub_01” (S2). Then, the sublicense issuance / update unit 540 determines whether or not the requested sublicense can be updated and issued based on the referenced service usage status (S3). If it is determined that the update cannot be issued (NO in S3), the process proceeds to S9. Since the processing after S9 is the same as the sublicense issuance operation, description thereof is omitted.
- the sublicense issue / update unit 540 determines whether or not the license authority has changed compared to the previous license issue. When it is determined that there has been a change, the sublicense issuance / update unit 540 issues the updated sublicense to the subterminal 600 and the content (program 2) whose content that can be played back by the sublicense is content ID “Content_002”. ) Is notified to the sub-terminal 600 (S9), and the process is terminated. On the other hand, if it is determined that there is no change, the sublicense issue / update unit 540 performs only the process of issuing the updated sublicense to the subterminal 600. Since the processes in S5 to S8 are performed when a new license is issued, these processes are not performed when a license update is issued.
- the content playback unit 630 of the sub-terminal 600 that has received the notification in the process of S9 ends the playback of the content “content_001” and displays a UI as shown in FIG. 33 on the display unit.
- the content playback unit 630 switches the content to be played back to the program 2.
- the license providing system performs the following operation.
- the content reproduction unit 630 transmits a request for content usage condition information of the program 2 to the service providing server 300.
- the service providing unit 310 of the service providing server 300 returns the content usage condition information of the program 2 to the sub terminal 600.
- the content reproduction unit 630 of the sub-terminal 600 that has received the content use condition information transmits the content ID “Content_002” and the license ID “ID_001_sub_01” included in the content use condition information to the service providing server 300. A request is made to issue a decryption key necessary for decrypting “program 2”.
- the service providing unit 310 of the service providing server 300 reads out the decryption key for decrypting the content data of the program 2 from the content table 320 and transmits it to the sub-terminal 600, and the sub-terminal 600 has started playing the program 2 To the main terminal 500.
- the content reproduction unit 110 of the sub-terminal 100 acquires and reproduces the content data of the program 2 by accessing the content acquisition destination URL included in the previously received content usage condition information.
- the service usage status change detection unit 520 of the main terminal 500 Upon receiving the notification, the service usage status change detection unit 520 of the main terminal 500 notifies the license authority control unit 530 that the sub-terminal 600 has started playback of the program 2 (S21).
- the license authority control unit 530 records in the license table that the content to be played back on the sub-terminal 600 whose sub-license “ID_001_sub_01” has been updated and issued has been changed (S22). Specifically, the license authority control unit 530 changes the value of “viewing content ID” in the hierarchy below “license ID” whose value is “ID_001_sub_01” from “Content_001” to “Content_002”, thereby changing the license.
- the table value is set to the state of the license table S_L009 in FIG.
- the license authority control unit 530 checks the usage status and usage status change content of the license ID (“ID_001_sub_01”), and determines the presence or absence of an associated license (S23). Specifically, referring to the license table, it is checked whether or not “related license ID” exists in a layer below “license ID” whose value is “ID_001_sub_01”. Since the current license table value is the license table S_L009, there are related license IDs whose values are “ID_001_full_01” and “ID_001_full_02”.
- the license authority control unit 530 uses the updated sub-terminal 600.
- the fact that the content to be reproduced has been changed is recorded in the license table of the acquired license table storage unit 550 (S24). Specifically, the operation of S81 in FIG. 5F is performed, and the value of “viewing content ID” of “related license ID” “ID_001_sub_01” is obtained for “license ID” having values “ID_001_full_01” and “ID_001_full_02”. Is changed to “Content_002”, the value of the license table is changed to the state of the license table S_L010 in FIG.
- the main terminal 500 (operation control device) is a license including a main license and a sublicense, and only the same content as the content being reproduced by the main terminal 500 by the main license is sub-licensed by the subterminal 600
- the sub-terminal 600 is controlled based on the license that enables playback.
- the service usage status change detection unit 520 detects that the content reproduced by the content reproduction unit 510 has been changed to the content “Content_002”. Further, when the change is detected, the license authority control unit 530 changes the license table so that the value of the “synchronous content ID” of the “constraint condition” becomes “Content_002”, so that the sub terminal 600 makes the sub license To change the reproducible content to the content “Content_002”.
- the service providing server and the license server are described as separate devices, but the service providing server and the license server can be realized as a single device.
- the license server 400 compares the IP address of the user terminal 100 to which the main license has been issued by a communication unit (not shown) with the IP address of the user terminal 100 to which the sublicense is issued, and the two IP addresses are included in the same network. If it is determined that the IP address is a registered IP address, the license authority control unit 412 may further restrict the operation of the user terminal 100 to which the sublicense is issued. In this case, the license authority control unit 412 updates the license table so that the “restriction condition” in the hierarchy below the “sublicense ID” indicating such a sublicense becomes stricter.
- the communication unit notifies the user terminal 100 that has issued the sublicense of the IP address of the user terminal that has issued the main license, and communicates with the user terminal that has issued the main license to the user terminal 100.
- Time for example, response time such as PING
- the license authority control unit 412 may limit the operation of the user terminal 100 to which the sublicense is issued even when the communication time is a certain time or longer than when the communication time is less than a certain value.
- the license issue / update unit 420 of the license server 400 may control the service providing unit 310 of the service providing server 300 so that only the same point as the point being played on the main terminal 100 can be played on the sub-terminal 100. Also, the license issue / update unit 420 can reproduce only at a higher speed than the main terminal 100 until the sub terminal 100 catches up with the reproduction point of the main terminal 100 after the sub terminal 100 starts reproduction from the beginning of the content (for example, only at 1.5 times speed).
- the service providing unit 310 is controlled so that trick playback cannot be performed), and after catching up with the playback point of the main terminal 100, only the same point as the playback point on the main terminal 100 is played on the sub-terminal 100.
- the service providing unit 310 of the service providing server 300 may be controlled as possible. Thereby, the service usage authority and usage status of the sub-terminal 100 by the sub-license are more limited, and the user's family near the sub-terminal 100 together with the user near the main terminal 100 views the content. Is expected to be used as a limited service.
- the license issuance / update unit 420 is a stream type content distribution service in which the sub terminal 100 can reproduce only the same point as the point being played on the main terminal 100.
- content distribution can be performed simultaneously by multicasting, and there is an effect that the load on the network and the content providing terminal is reduced. Further, the same effect can be expected when the sub terminal 100 transfers the received content stream to the sub terminal 100 by P2P, and the sub terminal 100 reproduces the transferred content stream.
- the license authority control unit 412 may update the value of the license table from the license table S_L007 to the license table S_L008_2 in FIG. 24 instead of the license table S_L008. That is, the “viewing time limit” may be recorded in a layer below the “synchronous content ID”.
- the expiration date set for the sublicense may be set to an appropriate expiration date depending on the service provided. In other words, when it is necessary to quickly control services that can be used by the sub-terminal 100 according to the service used by the main terminal 100, it is desirable to set a short period until the expiration date. Further, in order to reduce the load caused by communication between the sub-terminal 100 and the license server 400 and the load of processing in which the license server 400 updates the sub-license of the sub-terminal 100, it is possible to set a longer period until the expiration date. desirable.
- the license issuance / update process is performed by a server client model in which the user terminal 100 transmits a request to the license server 400 and the license server 400 responds to the request, and the license server 400 makes a communication connection request to the user terminal 100. Generally it is not done.
- the reason why the expiration date is set for the sublicense is to solve the problem that in such a case, the change of authority available in the sublicense cannot be reflected in the subterminal 100 promptly.
- the license server 400 promptly notifies the sub-terminal 100 when the contents of the related license authority are changed, thereby prompting the user to switch the content to be reproduced without waiting for the license expiration date. It may be.
- the license authority control unit 412 determines whether it is necessary to stop or collect the sublicense being provided to the subterminal 100 after changing the authority of the license ID_001_sub_01.
- the license issuance / update unit 420 makes an immediate license update request to the sub-terminal 100.
- the sub terminal 100 starts the license update process.
- the sub-terminal 100 needs to appropriately receive the immediate update request transmitted by the license server 400 to change the license content.
- the communication of unnecessary license update can be reduced, the load of communication processing is reduced. It is possible to realize notification change processing with high real-time characteristics while keeping the increase small.
- the license issuance / update unit 420 notifies the service providing server 300 of the change in the authority content of the sublicense, and the service providing unit 310 of the service providing server 300 that received the notification notifies the subterminal 100 of the change. It is also possible to perform a forced update process in which the service is temporarily stopped and the user is forced to perform a license update process at the same time. Examples of the process of stopping the provision of service include a process of temporarily blocking the sub terminal 100 during streaming reproduction from accessing the streaming content in the service providing server 300.
- a service provided by the service providing server 300 to the user terminal 100 is provided by the user terminal 100 intermittently accessing the service providing server 300 (for example, the streaming content described above). Delivery service). That is, the service provided by the service providing server 300 to the user terminal 100 is a service that can be provided without the user terminal 100 intermittently accessing the service providing server 300 (for example, stored in the user terminal 100). Download content distribution service), the license update process needs to be performed by another method.
- the user terminal 100 intermittently accesses the service providing server 300, so that the service providing server 300 does not need to make a communication connection request to the user terminal 100 for license update. There is also a merit.
- the license authority control unit 412 notifies the user terminal 100 to which the related license (main license) is issued that the synchronized playback has been started in the subterminal 100.
- the timing at which the license authority control unit 412 performs the notification need not be when the sublicense is issued.
- an expiration date is set for the main license, and each time the expiration date is reached, the main terminal 100 is a user terminal (or a user of the user terminal) to which a related license (sub license) is issued.
- the license server 400 may be inquired as to whether the content to be played back by the terminal (user) has been changed.
- the timing at which the user terminal acquires the encrypted content data from the service providing unit 310 may not be the same as the timing at which the decryption key is acquired.
- acquisition of content data may be started at any timing. Further, it may be recorded in advance in a physical device (storage unit) such as a USB memory or an SD card that can be read by the user terminal. Further, the content data may be received by streaming distribution.
- the reproduction of content has been described as an example of operations that the user terminal 100 can perform with the main license and the sublicense.
- the content to be reproduced may be music content or video content.
- the content may be content that is downloaded and sold from the service providing server 300 or content that is streamed.
- the main license is a license that can reproduce all content
- the sub license is a license that can reproduce only the content that is being reproduced on the user terminal to which the main license is issued.
- N N episodes
- the sublicense is a license that allows playback of only the content with the same title as the content being played on the user terminal for which the main license is issued. There may be.
