- the antenna circuit 11 the antenna coil 11a and the capacitor 11b are electrically connected to constitute a resonance circuit, and the capacitance of the capacitor 11b is varied, whereby the resonance of the resonance circuit including the antenna coil 11a and the capacitor 11b. The frequency is adjusted.
- the communication processing unit 13 is configured by a microcomputer including a modulation / demodulation circuit 131, a CPU 132, and a memory 133.

Further, the modem circuit 131 performs a demodulation process for extracting data from the modulated wave output from the reader / writer 2.
- the CPU 132 reads out the control voltage information stored in the memory 133, applies the control voltage V to the capacitor 11b, and adjusts the capacitance of the capacitor 11b, thereby adjusting the resonance frequency due to element errors and variations during manufacturing. Correct the deviation.
- the resonance frequency of the antenna circuit 11 matches the oscillation frequency of the reader / writer 2 in consideration of the deviation between the resonance frequency of the antenna circuit 11 and the oscillation frequency at which the reader / writer 2 oscillates the magnetic field.

- Stable communication can be realized by matching the oscillation frequency of the writer 2.
- ⁇ Adjustment of resonance frequency> Even if the antenna circuit 11 adjusts the capacitance of the capacitor 11b by applying a control voltage, it may be difficult to adjust the antenna circuit 11 within an appropriate range due to a frequency shift due to a variation factor of circuit characteristics of the manufactured antenna module. . For example, as shown in FIG.
- the capacitance of a variable capacitor made of a ferroelectric material decreases monotonously as the voltage value increases. That is, in a resonance circuit having a variable capacitor made of a ferroelectric material, the resonance frequency can be adjusted to be high, but cannot be adjusted to be low. For this reason, it may be difficult to adjust the resonance frequency within the appropriate range when the resonance frequency is shifted to the high frequency side due to a variation factor during manufacture. In many cases, it is desirable to match the oscillation frequency of the reader / writer when half the control voltage is applied, and when the control voltage is 0 V, the frequency is adjusted to be lower.
- the inductance of the antenna coil is determined by the outer shape of the coil, the number of turns, the pitch between lines, etc., but when a material with high relative permeability is attached to the antenna coil, the relative permeability, shape, The thickness also changes depending on the distance between the antenna coil and the magnetic sheet. Relative permeability, shape, and thickness are parameters determined by design and cannot be changed later. However, the distance between the antenna coil and the magnetic sheet can be changed by adjustment at the time of attachment. It is. Therefore, using the characteristic that the inductance of the antenna coil changes according to the distance between the antenna coil and the magnetic sheet as described above, in the manufacturing method according to the present embodiment, the magnetic sheet 12 is attached to the antenna coil 11a.
- the antenna module 1 that can be adjusted so that the resonance frequency of the antenna circuit 11 coincides with the oscillation frequency of the reader / writer 2 is manufactured.
- the characteristic that the inductance of the antenna coil changes according to the separation distance between the antenna coil 11a and the magnetic sheet 12 will be described.
- 4A and 4B are a perspective view and a cross-sectional view, respectively, of the antenna coil 11a to which the magnetic sheet 12 is attached via an adhesive 14 as an insulating material. As shown in FIG. 4A, the antenna coil 11a is mounted on a printed circuit board as follows, for example.
- the antenna coil 11a is patterned on the conductor 111 of the flexible printed circuit board in which both sides of the dielectric layer 113 made of a flexible material such as polyimide, liquid crystal polymer, and Teflon (registered trademark) are covered with the conductive layers 111 and 112. A material that is subjected to the annealing process and the conductor 112 is grounded is used.
- a rigid board using a plastic material such as an epoxy resin may be used. From the viewpoint that the dielectric constant can be suppressed, it is preferable to use a flexible printed circuit board.
- the magnetic sheet 12 is attached to the conductor 112 functioning as the ground of the antenna coil 11a through the adhesive 14.
- the inductance of the antenna coil when the separation distance d between the antenna coil and the magnetic sheet is changed in units of ⁇ m.
- the change is shown in FIG.
- the ferrite sheet contains 49.3 mol% Fe 2 O 3 , 12.5 mol% ZnO, 28.9 mol% NiO, and 9.2 mol% CuO as main components, and Sb as an additive element.
- the 2 O 3 1.10mol% was used in which the CoO and 0.1 mol%.
- FIG. 5 shows a change in inductance at 13.56 [MHz], but the inductance of the antenna coil increases as the distance between the antenna coil and the magnetic sheet increases in other frequency bands. It is clear that tends to decrease monotonically.
- FIGS. 6A and 6B the manufacturing method of the antenna module 1 using the characteristic that the inductance of the antenna coil 11a changes according to the separation distance between the antenna coil 11a and the magnetic sheet 12 will be described with reference to FIGS. 6A and 6B. First, the first manufacturing method will be described with reference to FIG. 6A.
- step S11 the characteristics of the antenna coil 11a and the capacitor 11b are set and created so that the resonance frequency of the antenna circuit 11 is lower than the oscillation frequency of the reader / writer 2, for example, 13.56 [MHz].
- step S12 the measured value of the resonance frequency of the antenna circuit 11 created in step S11 is measured while applying the determined control voltage to the variable capacitor.
- step S13 an insulating adhesive having a film thickness such that the resonance frequency of the antenna circuit 11 matches the oscillation frequency based on the actual measurement value of the resonance frequency measured in step S12 and the deviation of the oscillation frequency of the reader / writer 2. Then, the magnetic sheet 12 is attached to the antenna coil 11a.
- the resonance frequency of the resonance circuit when the antenna coil and the magnetic sheet are attached via the insulating material having a predetermined film thickness in step S13 is the oscillation frequency of the reader / writer 2. It is possible to manufacture the antenna module 1 adjusted so as to match the above. In particular, in the first manufacturing method, since the resonance frequency measuring process is only required once compared to the second manufacturing method described later, the manufacturing process can be shortened. Next, the second manufacturing method will be described with reference to FIG. 6B. In step S21, the characteristics of the antenna coil 11a and the capacitor 11b are set and created so that the resonance frequency of the antenna circuit 11 is lower than the oscillation frequency, for example, 13.56 [MHz].
- step S22 the measured value of the resonance frequency of the antenna circuit 11 created in step S21 is measured while applying the determined control voltage to the variable capacitor.
- step S23 it is determined whether or not the actually measured value of the resonance frequency of the antenna circuit 11 measured in step S22 matches the oscillation frequency of the reader / writer 2. If they match, the process proceeds to step S25, where they match. If not, the process proceeds to step S24.
- step S24 a heat-curing or UV-curing adhesive is applied to the antenna coil 11a or the magnetic sheet 12 so that the distance between the antenna coil 11a and the magnetic sheet 12 is increased by a predetermined unit distance. Return to step S23.
- the adhesive is not limited to the above as long as it is an adhesive that is cured by the curing process in the subsequent step S25.
- step S25 heat treatment or UV irradiation is performed to cure the adhesive layer formed between the antenna coil 11a and the magnetic sheet 12 in step S24.
- the adhesive is cured at the position of the optimum distance to form the shape. Hold.
- the antenna module 1 adjusted to coincide with the oscillation frequency of the reader / writer 2 can be manufactured.
- the second manufacturing method since the separation distance is changed while measuring the resonance frequency as compared with the first manufacturing method described above, the second manufacturing method is adjusted to match the oscillation frequency of the reader / writer 2 with higher accuracy.
- the antenna module 1 can be manufactured.
- the magnetic sheet 12 is applied to the antenna coil 11a using the characteristic that the inductance of the antenna coil 11a changes according to the separation distance between the antenna coil 11a and the magnetic sheet 12. Is adjusted so that the resonance frequency of the antenna circuit 11 when it is attached matches the oscillation frequency of the reader / writer 2.
- the antenna module 1 that can adjust the frequency shift due to the fluctuation factor of the circuit characteristics of the antenna circuit 11 within the correction range after manufacturing and can perform stable communication.
- the resonance frequency can be controlled to an appropriate value by controlling the separation distance between the antenna coil 11a and the magnetic sheet 12, and the capacitor 11b has a variable capacitance. Since the adjustment range by the variable capacitance is made appropriate, the initial resonance frequency can be offset by a certain amount, and a high-performance antenna module can be manufactured while maintaining the degree of freedom in design.
- the description has been made using the capacitor made of the ferroelectric whose capacitance is adjusted by the applied voltage.
- connection of the relatively small capacitor is switched by the switching operation and adjusted by the combined capacitance. Even when a variable capacitor is used, it is possible to adjust the frequency shift due to the variation factor of the circuit characteristics of the antenna module within the correction range after manufacturing, and to manufacture an antenna module capable of performing stable communication. .
Abstract
