Abstract
This invention relates to a construction consisting of a load-bearing support structure (1) and walls (2) and intended for use as a greenhouse or a tent, for instance. The walls (2) are made of nonwoven fabric.
Description
Construction
This invention relates to a construction, which consists of a load-bearing support structure and walls and which is intended for use as a greenhouse or a tent, for in- stance.
Small-sized greenhouses, which are intended for use in gardens and have an area ranging from three to fifteen square metres, consist of a support structure made of wood or metal profile and of translucent walls made of UV-shielded plastic or glass. Greenhouses of this kind, known per se, are relatively costly and their mounting is laborious. These greenhouses also require a steady substructure, such as a footing or a similar frame structure.
The purpose of this invention is to provide a construction of a completely new type, which is inexpensive, easy to assemble, light-weight, and does not require a separate plinth structure. The construction in accordance with the invention is character- ised by the walls being made of nonwoven fabric.
Various embodiments of the invention are described in the dependent claims of the set of claims.
- Nonwoven fabric is economical.
- A translucent nonwoven fabric provides a more complete overall light situa- tion than solutions known per se.
- A more natural climate is also obtained.
- The nonwoven fabric provides privacy by blocking the view from the outside; a secluded room in the garden.
- The construction is readily shifted and transported. - The invention offers higher planning and design potential.
The invention is described below with the aid of an example and with reference to the accompanying drawing, in which
Figure 1 illustrates a greenhouse in accordance with one embodiment, comprising a rounded support structure and
figure 2 illustrates a greenhouse in accordance with a second embodiment, comprising a hut-shaped support structure.
The greenhouse is composed of a load-bearing support structure 1 and walls 2, with the walls made of nonwoven fabric. The nonwoven fabric is similar to the covering or thermal gauze used for covering strawberry plants and potatoe stalks. Consequently, the nonwoven fabric has to be translucent. For use as a tent, the construction is available with a coloured nonwoven fabric.
The walls 2 are fastened to the support structure, or in the case where the walls form a bag-shaped construction, the bag is tightened over the support structure and fas- tened at its lower edge to the lower part of the support structure or directly to the ground.
The construction may act as a kind of garden pavilion, which blocks the view from the outside while still allowing sunbathing. A swimming pool may also be set up within the construction. The construction is not confined to small greenhouses, but may equally well be a large construction shaped as a sports hall.
Claims
1. A construction consisting of a load-bearing support structure (1) and walls (2) and intended for use as a greenhouse or a tent, for instance, characterised in that the walls (2) are made of nonwoven fabric.
2. A construction as defined in claim 1, characterised in that the nonwoven fabric is of the type called a covering, coating or thermal gauze.
3. A construction as defined in claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the nonwoven fabric is translucent.
4. A construction as defined in claim 1, 2 or 3, characterised in that the non- woven fabric is water-repellent.
5. A construction as defined in any of the preceding claims, characterised in that the walls (2) form a bag-shaped construction, which can be tightened over the support structure (1).
