Definitions
- the central portion and the thigh portion receive the buttocks and a portion of the thighs of the patient.
- a back section adjoins the central section, which optionally may also contain a head section for lifting the head.
- a central section is attached to a bed frame.
- the central portion may be rigidly connected to the bed frame or rotated about a pivot hinge about the central portion with respect to a vertical axis relative to the bed frame.
- an intermediate section adjoins the central section, which has a relatively short extent in the longitudinal direction of the bed.
- the back section is hinged.
- a controlled lifting device acts on the intermediate section, by means of which the position of the hinge arrangement, which connects the back section to the intermediate section, is raised depending on the angular position of the back section.
- the intermediate portion In the horizontal position of the back portion, in which the back portion and the central portion are in extension to each other, the intermediate portion is flat. if in this plane.
- the back portion are connected to the central portion of a polygon, resulting in that when lifting the back portion, the pivoting direction is shifted to the lumbar region of the patient. This results in a flexion in the trunk of the patient, if this is correspondingly in bed.
- the central portion with the intermediate portion and the back portion gives a polygonal shape approximating a circular shape, there is also the situation that a virtual pivot axis results between the back portion and the central portion, corresponding to the proportions of the intermediate portion above that through the Lying frame defined level lies.
- the hinge arrangement on each side of the bed, comprises a hinge which connects the adjacent longitudinal bars on the relevant side of the bed. As a result, a continuous shaft is avoided, which limits a spring stroke of any existing slatted base.
- the lifting device can be designed either as a lever arrangement or mechanism or as a link arrangement or link guide.
- the controlled lifting device includes at least one first lever connected to the spine portion and projecting from the spine portion beyond the axis of the second hinge assembly connecting the spine portion to the intermediate portion.
- the lever assembly includes a second lever which is hinged to the free end of the first lever and the other end rack is firmly hinged.
- Favorable conditions may arise when the hinge axis at which the two levers are hinged together lies on a straight line on which the axes of the first and second hinge assemblies lie, when the spine portion is in the horizontal position in which it is in Extension of the central section runs. This results in compact conditions.
- the articulation point of the frame fixed lever can be moved closer to the central part.
- the lever device also has the advantage that no sliding movements but only rotational movements occur.
- This linkage arrangement may comprise a correspondingly curved guide track, which is arranged, for example, fixed to the frame and comprises a cam follower which runs in the guide track and is coupled to the back section.
- Another possibility is to connect with the back portion of a kind cam, which runs on a frame-fixed cam follower.
- the cam must be associated with a second cooperating with the opposite side of the roll wall to prevent that the roller comes free from the cam track by tensile forces.

- the levers 56 and 57 lie on the inside of the adjacent spars.
- the illustrated embodiment of the virtual joint 50 is present on each bed side, which eliminates the need for additional connections below the reclining frame 12 to control the virtual joint 50.
- the way of functioning of the virtual joint 50 is as follows:
- the virtual joint 50 is stretched.
- the axes of the hinges 52 and 53 lie on a horizontal line, on which optionally also the axis of the hinge joint 37 is located (no Trendelenburg storage provided).
- the hinge 59 dips between the axes of the two hinges 52 and 53 and the lever 57 is pivoted, based on the illustration of Fig. 4 in the clockwise direction. If, starting from this position in which the back portion 31 is horizontally flat, the return drive 58 is set in motion, the back portion 46 is pivoted upwardly from the horizontal flat position. By this pivoting upward, the lever 56 moves in a clockwise direction about the axis of the hinge 52 with reference to FIG.
- the hinge 59 is located to the right of the axis of the hinge 52 with respect to the illustration of Fig. 4, the distance to the boom 63 would shorten.
- the lever 57 the distance to the axis of the hinge 62 is kept substantially constant, so that when pivoting the back portion 31 at the same time the back portion 31 is raised with the hinge joint 52, because the lever 57 is pivoted in the direction of rotation.
- the two levers 56 and 57 can also be regarded as a kind of toggle lever pair whose effective length increases when stretched. Due to this extension, the hinge 52 is inevitably raised, ie the intermediate strut section 51 is likewise pivoted upwards, namely about the axis of the hinge 53. As can be seen in the illustration in FIG. 4, the arm 58 acts as if the arm 56 were arranged on the straight line 68 and would project with its free end beyond the axis of the hinge 52. In this consideration, it is clear that the thus-conceived lever, which would reach up to the hinge 52, forms, together with the lever 57, a toggle-lever pair whose extension angle is predetermined by the elevation angle of the back section 31.
- FIG. 4 also shows that a circle is approximated by means of the intermediate spar section 51 through a polygon comprising the intermediate spar section 51, a part of the longitudinal spar 36 and a part of the spar 46.
- This imaginary circle has a center which lies clearly above the spars 36, 46 and 51.
- the axis about which the spine portion 31 rotates is an imaginary axis that hovers over the reclining frame 12.
- the thighs are on the thigh portion 38, the popliteal fossa approximately in the region of the hinge 39 and the lower leg on the lower leg portion 41.
- the lower leg are above the lower leg portion 41 over which the feet come to rest on the foot portion 35.
- Swinging movement near or in the lumbar area which prevents the patient is moved toward the foot of the bed when the back portion 31 is pivoted up.
- the virtual joint 50 is dimensioned such that, when the back section 31 is perpendicular, the intermediate spar section 51 runs approximately at 45 °. That in other words, the angle which the intermediate spar portion 51 encloses with the horizontal is approximately half as large as the angle which the spine portion 31 encloses with the horizontal over the entire movement stroke.
- the dimensioning is such that the distance between the axis of the hinge 39 to the lying surface side of the back portion 31 is smaller than the distance of the popliteal fossa of the back in an upright person who leaves the lower leg hang freely.
- the virtual joint 50 diffracts in the lower torso area, whereas diffraction between the thigh and the hip becomes more evident only at relatively high elevation angles.
- the patient is hardly moved in bed, while in the upper elevation area he is displaced in the direction of the free distal end of the thigh section 38 in the sense of a stand-up aid.
- the attached to the longitudinal spar 5G lever 56 carries at its free end a freely rotatably mounted roller 66
- the roller 66 runs in a U-profile rail 67 which is attached to the foot end to the boom 29.
- the U-profile rail 67 is curved in such a way that the U-profile rail 67 moves upwards with increasing distance from the boom spar 29.
- the roller 64 moves along the U-profile rail 67 m away from the boom spar 29 away. Since the lever 56 moves with its free end with the roller down and the rail 67 increases, there is an increasing increase of the intermediate spar portion 51, the stronger the jaw portion 31 is pivoted upwards.
- the curvature of the U-profile rail 67 is selected so that the previously given condition is met, namely that the elevation angle of the intermediate beam portion 51 over the entire movement stroke is always about half as large as the elevation angle of the longitudinal spar 56 of the back portion 31
- a nursing bed in which the reclining frame is rotatable relative to a vertical axis to bring the patient to a seated position at the bed edge has a virtual hinge at the proximal end of the spine portion.
- the virtual hinge creates an axis of rotation for the spine portion at least above that area is located on the bottom of the mattress is located
