Definitions
- the propagation region and the attenuation of the amplitude in the living body can be determined by the diffusion application, so that the light with respect to the input light emitted from the light input channel can be determined.
- the amount of change in phase and amplitude in the output light measured in the output channel can be estimated. Therefore, the final absorption coefficient and scattering coefficient are updated by iteratively updating the absorption coefficient and scattering coefficient of each voxel so that the estimated values of phase and amplitude change approach or match the actual measurement values. Is obtained.
- the measurement of the amount of change in phase and amplitude and the calculation of the estimated value based on the model are performed for a plurality of pairs in the optical input channel and the optical output channel.
- Patent Document 1 there is a method described in Patent Document 1 in which an initial value of an iterative calculation is set based on a tumor position acquired by ultrasonic waves using ultrasonic waves and diffused light tomography together.
- a technique that combines imaging means other than light, such as ultrasound, and diffuse optical tomography (light fusion imaging method) is optical. It can be said that this is a very promising imaging technique in the future in that it can not only provide functional information on characteristics but also improve the performance of diffuse optical tomography itself.
- FIG. 4B is a diagram illustrating an example of a light propagation region between an optical input channel and an optical output channel.
- the light propagation region includes, for example, the channel pair of the optical input channel In1 and the optical output channel Ou1, the channel pair of the optical input channel In2 and the optical output channel Ou2, and the channel of the optical input channel In3 and the optical output channel Ou3 in FIG. 4A.
- light irradiated from the light input channel draws a banana-shaped arc in the living body and reaches the light output channel. Therefore, the longer the distance between the optical input channel and the optical output channel in the channel pair, the deeper the light propagates. For example, light propagates in the deep region 1 between the optical input channel In1 and the optical output channel Ou1, and propagates in the shallow region 2 between the optical input channel In2 and the optical output channel Ou2, It propagates in the shallower region 3 with the optical output channel Ou3.
- the display device 10a is a display device such as a liquid crystal or a CRT for displaying an image obtained by the light fusion imaging method or information necessary for medical relations, and has a touch panel that receives input from an operator. Yes.
- the fixed type fusion probe 10c is configured in a dome shape as described above.
- the above-described ultrasonic probe p1 and an optical probe having a plurality of channel pairs each consisting of an optical input channel c1 and an optical output channel c2 are disposed.
- the image reconstruction unit 108 determines the initial value of the absorption coefficient based on the tumor information d1.
- a reconstruction result (absorption coefficient) may be directly obtained without performing an iterative calculation by obtaining a pseudo inverse matrix of a matrix representing a model such as Diffusion Application.
- the absorption coefficient may be an absolute value or a relative value indicating a difference from the reference value.
- the target of reconstruction is not limited to the absorption coefficient, but may be a feature quantity indicating other optical characteristics such as a scattering coefficient.
- step S1034 and step S1035 is repeatedly executed for each channel pair extracted in step S1033.
- a method of selecting a channel pair in step S1031 a plurality of methods are possible. For example, a channel pair with a long distance between channels can be preferentially excluded by selecting in order from a channel pair with a long distance between channels.
- the light fusion imaging apparatus 100 determines the second channel pair as an effective channel pair, and performs reconfiguration using only the measurement result of the second channel pair. That is, the optical fusion imaging apparatus 100 excludes the first channel pair and the third channel pair and does not perform reconfiguration using the measurement results of these channel pairs.
- Other channel pairs such as a channel pair including the optical input channel In1 and the optical output channel Ou2 are not shown.
- the initial value in the reconstruction process is determined based on the past reconstruction result, and the past reconstruction result approximates the reconstruction result obtained in step S404. Therefore, it is possible to reduce the processing load of the repetitive calculation in the reconstruction process and improve the accuracy of the reconstruction.
- FIG. 16 is a flowchart showing the operation of the light fusion imaging apparatus 100 according to this modification.
- the optical fusion imaging apparatus 100 according to this modification is characterized in that it displays or presents a reconstruction result and function information obtained by ultrasound (hereinafter referred to as ultrasound function information). That is, in the above embodiment, ultrasonic waves are used for the purpose of obtaining structural information such as the position and size of a tumor, that is, tumor information d1, using a normal B-mode image or the like. Furthermore, ultrasonic waves are also used for the purpose of acquiring ultrasonic function information indicating the properties of the tissue based on changes in ultrasonic echo intensity over time. In this modification, the ultrasonic function information obtained by the ultrasonic wave and the reconstruction result obtained by light (near infrared light) are used in combination. Note that the reconstruction result obtained by light is functional information obtained by light and is referred to as optical function information.
- the optical fusion imaging device 100 executes the same processing as steps S102 to S105 shown in FIG. 9 of the above embodiment (steps S102 to S105).
- This optical fusion type imaging method is an imaging method that measures diffused light, which is near-infrared light that is irradiated to a living tissue and diffuses in the living tissue, and images optical characteristics in the living tissue,
- This is a light-fusion imaging method that combines a measurement method different from the measurement of diffused light to identify a structural feature in biological tissue, and determines the position and size of the object to be observed in the biological tissue.
- the method of circuit integration is not limited to LSI, and may be realized by a dedicated circuit or a general-purpose processor.
- An FPGA Field Programmable Gate Array
- a reconfigurable processor that can reconfigure the connection and setting of circuit cells inside the LSI may be used.
