Definitions
- the present invention relates to a double bevel needle for treating micro-varicose veins and telangiectasias coupled to a driving machine whose action causes forward and backward needle movements that are directed to cause destruction of dermal micro varices.
- Sclerotherapy techniques are well known and their action is through the injection of sclerosing substances into the vessel lumen with the aim of causing a chemical inflammation and subsequent drying of the vessel, making it a fibrous cord to wait for its later absorption. by the body.
- This technique although widely used and efficient, has limitations as its slow, passive staining result, requiring multiple applications, may be burned on the spot, and sometimes unwanted vessels may be struck during chemical injection.
- sclerosing. Laser is a recent, promising technique, currently only used as a complement to sclerotherapy, its results are still very selective and very expensive, which hinders access to use as well as professional training.
- This technical instrument can be safely used by any novice in the art, it only reaches the vessels to be destroyed, does not cause chronic stains, does not cause burns, its result is immediate, the cost is insignificant and the treatment is carried out with great care. there is no risk of injury to deeper vessels.
- Fig. 1 shows in perspective the double bevel needle having at one end the locking tip and at the other showing the double bevel tip.
- Fig. 2 shows the detail of the double bevel needle tip.
- Fig. 3 shows that the needle is connected to a machine powered by a power source that, when triggered, causes forward and backward movements, according to the depth of the skin to be reached, causing the destruction of the dermal micro-varices.
- the double bevel needle for treating varicose veins and telangiectasias (1) object of the present invention, consists of a double bevel needle with piercing / cutting ends on its medial face, connected to a machine formed by a disposable polypropylene wrap sleeve (2), rotation shaft (3), eccentric cardan (4), threaded insert (5) and induction motor (6) connected to a power source (7).
- the double bevel needle (1) being connected to the rotation axis, for example 240 rpm (3) of the machine, will operate with an advance and retraction of the needle penetrating the skin in the treatment region causing painlessly destroying dermal micro-varicose veins.
- the double bevel needle (1) can be obtained in different sizes to meet different needs, depending on the presentation and condition of the dermal micro-varicose veins.
- the parallel double beveled end may be made of different size bevels, one bevel having a length of between 1.5 mm and 2.1 mm, and the other bevel shorter than the first bevel with length between 0.9 mm and 1.5 mm.
- the construction angle of the bevels, joined together by the arched chamfer can vary from 10 degrees to 150 degrees according to the length of the bevels.
- the configuration used in the prototype developed and tested had the distal end composed of double parallel bevels, one of which being 1.8 mm long and the other 1.2 mm long, measured from base to tip with a distance of 1 mm. .0 mm from one to the other, their tips tapered and prepared to pierce and cut at the same time, the ends of the bevels had two surfaces, the concave and smooth upper surface facing the outside, and the sharpened convective lower surface facing the inner side, needle was 142.5 mm long, 1.8 mm in diameter and weighed 2.475 g being made of solid surgical steel.
- the diameter is the same as the proximal portion or fixation end to the distracting end or sharpening tip, but the needle can be manufactured with diameters of 1 mm to 3 mm with similar efficiency.
- the length between said fixing ends with the syringe and bevel tip or cutting tip may also vary from 10 mm to 160 mm.
