Abstract

La présente invention concerne des dispositifs de production de verres ophtalmiques comprenant au moins une moitié de moule définissant une surface optique, la moitié de moule étant fabriquée à partir d'un polymère qui comprend un polyimide aromatique, un polyphénylène, ou une combinaison des deux. Les dispositifs présentent de nombreux avantages comprenant entre autres une bonne résistance chimique, une bonne durabilité, une bonne usinabilité, ainsi que de bonnes propriétés anti-UV. L'invention concerne également des procédés de production de verres ophtalmiques utilisant les dispositifs décrits ici. Les verres ophtalmiques produits avec les dispositifs décrits ici présentent d'excellentes propriétés optiques par comparaison avec les verres produits à partir de moules traditionnels.
