Abstract

본 발명은 전자 종이 패널의 셀에서 선택된 셀에 맞닿도록 형틀을 형성하고, 형틀에 입자를 충전시킬 때 원하는 입자를 골라내어 충전시킴으로써 형틀로부터 패널의 선택된 셀에 선택된 입자가 이동 및 충전되도록 하는, 전자 종이 장치 및 그의 입자 어드레싱 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명은, 격벽으로 셀과 셀을 구분하여 패널의 상판 및 하판을 포함하고, 형성된 패널의 셀 중 선택된 셀에 맞닿아 있는 부분만 셀 크기에 맞도록 홈이 형성된 형틀을 포함하며, 이렇게 형성된 형틀의 전극에 전압을 인가하여 각각의 입자를 밀면서 형틀의 홈 안으로 입자를 충전시키며, 형틀에 입자를 충전시키면서 원하는 입자를 골라내며, 형틀의 홈으로부터 선택 입자를 패널 상판 및 패널 하판에 충전하며, 이렇게 선택된 입자가 충전된 상판과 하판의 셀을 정확히 맞춰서 접합하며, 접합된 패널을 활성화시키기 위해 상판 및 하판의 전극에 전압을 인가한다. 따라서, 본 발명은 전자종이 패널의 충전 전압(Putting voltage)을 낮출 수 있고, 해당 공정이 다른 방법보다 간략하며 대량 생산이 용이하며, 선명한 화질과 높은 대조비를 얻을 수 있다.
