Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a building complex suitable in particular for densely constructed metropolitan areas of high population density, principally with high-rise buildings and tower blocks.
  • High-rise buildings and tower blocks are currently constructed of considerable height to achieve a large number of residential units in relation to the quantity of ground occupied by the building.
  • Intensive ground utilization mainly prevalent in central zones of large cities, means that the buildings are constructed one behind another such that the spaces separating one building from another consist of small courtyards and narrow alleys, in addition to traffic-congested roads.
  • An object of the present invention is to increase the quantity of recreational areas available to residents within the framework of large building projects included in the town planning of cities, without reducing residential capacity while significantly increasing their degree of liveability. This and other objects are attained by providing a building complex in accordance with the technical teachings of the accompanying claims.
  • Figure 1 is a perspective view of a first embodiment of the invention
  • FIG. 2 is a perspective view showing a second embodiment of the invention
  • Figure 3 is a perspective view showing a variant of the embodiment illustrated in Figure 1.
  • a building complex 1 comprising four buildings 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D, in particular tower blocks, disposed at the corners of a square.
  • the buildings are substantially residential, commercial or services complexes.
  • a fifth building 2E is present, also in the form of a tower block.
  • a first platform 3A, a second platform 3B and a third platform 3C are suspended between the buildings, by resting on and being supported by the five buildings.
  • a greater or a lesser number of platforms can be provided suitably spaced apart.
  • the platforms are destined for recreational and ecological use as they can accommodate gardens, green areas, sports areas, running tracks, playing fields, skating rinks, swimming pools, children's play areas, etc. Consequently they present for example a layer of soil, rather than special coverings of other kinds.
  • the first platform 3A is directly accessible from each of the towers or from the road by dedicated elevators. This platform is for example accessible to everybody without limit and forms a true public area.
  • the second platform 3B is for example accessible to only the residents of the four corner towers, while the third is for example accessible to only the residents of the central tower 2E.
  • the uses and means of access to the various platforms can be of any type depending on the case under consideration and the particular requirements.
  • the perimetral buildings or towers 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D are of circular plan.
  • Each platform presents a substantially triangular configuration and rests on and is supported by two perimetral towers and by the central tower 2E.
  • the platforms disposed at the various levels are positioned such that there is no mutual superposing between them, for example to provide for natural lighting.
  • the various platforms can assume a substantially spiral configuration, such that between one platform and the directly overlying platform there are various mutually offset platform levels.
  • Figure 3 shows an embodiment simplified compared with Figure 1 . In this embodiment the central tower is not present, the various platforms being supported only by the four perimetral buildings.
  • the system described in the aforegoing embodiments in particular in constructing large urban complexes intended mainly for renewing central city areas, enables deprived zones to be provided with ample communal spaces in a quantity which is even greater than that subtracted from the ground in constructing the buildings. It also makes it possible to increase the level of building density (so increasing the value of the developed areas) while at the same time increasing the provision of green areas equipped for recreational use available to residents. In other words it reverses the axiom - valid up to the present time - that states that the extent of communal areas is inversely proportional to the level of building density of any particular zone.
