Abstract
The invention refers to the construction of double walled wooden blocks. The object of the invention is a thermo insulating and bearing a double walled wooden block, which is designed in the form of rectangle parallelepiped and comprises two longitudinal walls forming outer wall and partition or insulation, and inner wall, and at least two cross walls positioned there between leaving free the ends of the longitudinal walls, wherein between two cross walls a insulating material is arranged, wherein at the ends of both longitudinal walls are arranged recesses, their form and arrangement complies with the recesses of a longitudinal wall of an adjacent wooden block.
Description
A DOUBLE WALLED WOOD BLOCK AND A METHOD FOR BUILDING
A WALL THEREOF
Invention refers to the construction of low storey, industrial, agricultural, public or other buildings, especially for construction wooden buildings, where walls are constructed from double walled wooden blocks.
There is known Latvian patent LV 12113, which describes thermo insulating and carrying construction element of an outer wall of a building, which is formed in a form of rectangle parallelepiped and which comprises two longitudinal walls, which are interconnected to each other by means of cross wall. Construction is made of concrete or light concrete.
Elements are laid in rows into walls. Such kind of blocks need extra care at their mounting, because they are not equipped with connecting elements, which would ease mounting and would fix a connection. Further to that chosen construction material does not provide necessary thermo insulation as well as is not eco friendly.
Further is known Latvian patent LV 13504, which describes system for connecting wooden construction panels/blocks, where connection of panels/blocks are realized by the means of connecting beam. Drawback of such a system is that connecting beam is not fixed, which can form too big deflections among panels/blocks during a building process. Built construction can be unstable and with low rate of stiffness.
Object of the invention is to increase a rate of stability and stiffness of connection of double walled wooden block, as well as to create a new type and technique of construction of wooden buildings using double walled wooden blocks and eco friendly materials.
With these and other objects in view, the invention consists of thermo insulating and load carrying double walled wooden block formed in the form of rectangle parallelepiped and comprises two longitudinal walls forming outer wall and partition or insulating wall and inner wall, and at least two cross walls positioned there between leaving free the ends of longitudinal walls, wherein between both cross walls a insulating material is arranged, characterized in that recesses are arranged at both ends of both longitudinal walls of a wooden block, whose form and arrangement complies with the recesses of the longitudinal
walls of the adjacent wooden block, wherein between recesses can be arranged a connecting bar or connecting key with protrusion or notches, form of which are close to the form and location of recesses of longitudinal walls and which align with the recesses of longitudinal wall.
Profiled connecting key formed in the form of rectangle parallelepiped is arranged at the end of one wooden block, which all together defines the second cross wall and connecting key, wherein detents additionally are arranged between connecting key and wooden block into interrelated profiled recesses.
In one of solutions profiled protrusions are formed on the narrowest and the longest sides of longitudinal wall aligning with stacked onto it profiled recesses of longitudinal wall of wooden block, wherein profile of longitudinal wall is milled to the self fixing connecting key, wherein on both sides of cross wall are slots.
Additionally, profiles of end recesses of longitudinal walls provide connection to each other or through detents and that the cross walls of the black are arranged into the block so that they vertically and additionally wall fastening bars be arranged between both cross walls.
The length of cross walls of double walled wooden block and width of profiled connecting keys are changeable, thereby can be changed a thickness of double walled wooden block.
Longitudinal walls of double walled wooden block comprises at least two, preferably four, lateral arranged and tangentially glued wooden beams, width and height of which is changeable, thereby changing width and height of longitudinal walls, and an oblique edge is milled in a vertical connection area.
Using thermo insulating and load carrying double walled wooden block a following method for constructing a building is done. Method for constructing a wall from thermo insulating and load carrying double walled wooden block where double walled wooden block is connected with adjacent double walled wooden block and where rows of double walled wooden blocks are stacked on each other and/or alternately, characterized in that double walled wooden blocks to be connected are connected by the means of the recesses
of longitudinal walls and/or connecting keys, wherein bars with its ends threaded and fixed into a building foundation are vertically arranged through wooden blocks, especially through its cross walls.
Wooden blocks to be adjacent connected are connected and fixed by means of double wooden uprights having lower and upper double walled crowns, which form a carcase of wooden building and which can be made from any material, wherein wooden blocks are connected and fixed to double walled wooden uprights by means of locking uprights, wherein wooden blocks stacked on each other are arranged on each other vertically, and bars with its ends threaded and fixed into a building foundation are vertically arranged through wooden blocks, especially through its cross walls.
Additionally, the wooden blocks to be connected adjacent are connected to each other at the end of its longitudinal walls, where is formed recesses as profiled self fixing block connections, which can be additionally accompanied by detents inserted thereto, wherein cross walls are arranged in the block so that to be aligned vertically to each other, where after that the wall locking bars are installed.

In Fig. 1 is shown double walled block 1, which is formed in the form of rectangle parallelepiped, wherein double walled block 1 comprises outer wall 2A, partition wall 4 or insulating wall 4 and inner wall 2B, further to that between outer wall 2A and inner wall 2B obliquely, close to the ends of walls are arranged at least to cross walls 2, length of which defines a width of double walled wooden block 1, wherein at the both ends of both walls 2A, 2B of block 1 are made connecting areas 5 with profiled recesses.
In Fig. 2 is shown in the acsonometric perspective a double walled wooden block 1 formed in the form of rectangle parallelepiped with two longitudinal walls (outer 2A and inner wall 2B) and two cross walls 3 positioned there between, leaving free the ends of longitudinal walls 2A and 2B, wherein recesses 6 are formed in the inners space of the ends of longitudinal walls 2A and 2B, between of which a connecting key 8 with its protrusions 9 are arranged, dimensions and position of which correspond to the dimensions and position of recesses 6 connecting adjacent positioned blocks 1 to each other. Additionally, extensions 10 are arranged on both of shorter and longer sides 7 of longitudinal walls 2 A and 2B, which align with profiled recesses 11 of above positioned block 1. Such interconnectable extensions 10 and recesses 11 provide that during stacking blocks 1 on each other a successful alignment and connection is provided. Such extensions 10 and recesses 1 1 improve a stability of a building.
In Fig. 3 is shown one solution of connection, which comprises double walled wooden block 1, where at the one of its ends is provided profiled connecting key 8 in the form of rectangle parallelepiped, which associate both the second cross wall 3 and the connecting key 8. Such solution facilitates easier connection of double walled wooden blocks 1 , giving a possibility to improve a speed of construction of a building and eases a work of mounting labour. Detents 12 are arranged between connecting key 8B and wooden block 1 in their profiled areas 13 for providing additional stability. Such a construction solution improves stability, which is essential to the buildings being subject to the heavy loads.
In Fig. 4 are shown in the acsonometric perspective the double walled wooden blocks 1 formed in the form of rectangle parallelepiped with two longitudinal walls (outer 2A and inner wall 2B) and two cross walls 3 positioned there between, leaving free the ends of longitudinal walls 2A and 2B. Recesses 6 are formed inside the ends of longitudinal walls 2 A and 2B, in which during connection of blocks 1 they engage each other. Shape and
position of the recesses 6 correspond to the form and position of recesses 6 of adjacent positioned block 1. Additionally, extensions 10 are arranged on both of shorter and longer sides 7 of longitudinal walls 2 A and 2B, which aligns with profiled recesses 11 of .above positioned block 1. Such extensions 10 and recesses 11 provide successful alignment and connection for stacking blocks on each other.
Longitudinal walls 2A and 2B are arranged so that they align vertically forming load carrying carcase. To improve a vertical alignment of cross walls 3 on each other giving a possibility to longitudinal walls 2A and 2B to engage with each other, on both sides of it slots 10 and 11 are made. Inside of the wooden block insulation 4 is arranged.
In Fig. 5 are shown are shown in the acsonometric perspective the double walled wooden blocks 1 formed in the form of rectangle parallelepiped with two longitudinal walls (outer 2A and inner wall 2B) and two cross walls 3 positioned there between, leaving free the ends of longitudinal walls 2A and 2B. At the inner side of ends of longitudinal walls 2A and 2B are recesses 6, between of which connecting detents 12 are arranged, wherein shape and position of the recesses 6 correspond to the form and position of recesses 6 of adjacent positioned block 1. Branch specialists can change and modify specific parts of invention without digress from the scope of claims and description. A double wall is shown, which is assembled from wooden blocks 1. Method for constructing a double walled wall from double walled wooden blocks 1 is shown, wherein double walled wooden block 1 is connected to the adjacent double walled wooden block 1 and where rows of double walled wooden blocks 1 are stacked on each other and/or alternately, characterized in that double walled wooden blocks 1 to be connected are connected by the means of connecting key 8, and wherein double walled wooden blocks 1 arranged on each other are laid alternately, and for providing additional stability for walls 2A, 2B and 3 through blocks 1, especially through its cross walls 3, bars (15) with its ends threaded and
fixed into a building foundation (14) are vertically arranged. Usually, said fixing bars 15 are 1 m long and in diameter of 12 - 16 mm and are arranged in plastic tubes and during construction can be elongated by screwing on connecting sleeve 16 on its threaded ends and the next bar 15. Fixing means are put on the crown 23 of upper block 1, which by means of threaded bars 15 are connected to foundation 14. During a time wall lowers and nuts 17 should be tightened. It should be done freely tightening nuts 17 without wrench.
In Fig 7 is shown a double wall of wooden blocks 1, which includes corner connection. Wooden block 1 specification is similar to that in Fig. 6.
In Fig. 8 is shown a method for constructing wall of double walled wooden blocks 1 with double walled wooden uprights 20, which as well as said wooden blocks 1 comprise two longitudinal walls 21 A and 2 IB and at least two cross walls 22A and 22B. Uprights 20 are fixed between the first crown 23 of the foundation 14, which as well as uprights 20 comprise at least two longitudinal walls 24A and 24B and at least, preferably at least eight, cross walls 25, which forms fixing pocket for uprights. The first double wall wooden crown 23 is arranged on the wooden frame, which by means of anchor screws is fixed onto foundation 14. Using the same method as was made the first/lower crown 23 also an upper crown 26 is made, which also comprises two longitudinal walls 27A and 27B and at least, preferably at least four, cross walls 28, which as well as for lower crown 23 are arranged so that double walled wooden upright 20 is arranged in its fixing pockets and vertically coincide to each other. Uprights 20 are fixed with at least two wooden pins. Lower crown 23 is connected to the next crown 23 through slots on their ends, at which detents are drive in. Further a crown 26 is tied up by collar tie 30.
Building a carcases of double walled wooden blocks 1, at the beginning start from a corner of a building with the first upright 20 into which a fixing bar 29 is put, at the both ends of which are slots, in which lays down cross walls 31 of the uprights. In the next step double walled wooden blocks 1 are installed. After that the second fixing bar 29 is arranged, then a upright 20 and using the same sequence the third, forth, etc., uprights 20 are laid. Such method of construction is especially useful for constructing wooden buildings using double walled wooden blocks 1 and especially it significantly improves stability of building. Nevertheless instead of double walled wooden uprights 20 other construction means can be
used, which can be use in construction of wooden buildings. For uprights 20 and double walled wooden blocks 1 any other construction material can be used.
Additionally, cross walls 3 of double walled wooden block 1 seen in Fig. 1- Fig. 8 can be manufactured in different lengths. Changing a length of cross wall 3 it is possible to change a thickness of double walled wooden block 1, especially a thickness of its inner space. Therefore it is possible to change a thickness of insulation 4 in the inner space adapting it to the necessary climate conditions where building would be constructed.
Nevertheless double walled wooden block 1 consist of at least two, preferably four, wooden fibres, thickness of which also can be changed. Wherein a wall of double walled wooden blocks 1 consists of at least two, preferably four, wooden bars of wooden fibres, thickness of which also can be changed.
When constructing building from double walled wooden blocks 1 careful examination of planimetry and flatness of the foundation 14 should be carried out, hydro insulation should be provided, on which a half beam is fixed to the foundation 14. Half beam should be from harder material than blocks, for example from oak or timber which is processed with anti septic. In the middle of surface of the foundation 14 wall fixing means are attached, in which threaded bars 15 are incorporated. Nevertheless it is advisable to provide insulation before crown 23 or 26, which absorbs less humidity.
Given invention is not restricted by given examples. Branch specialists can change and modify a specific solution of invention within the scope of claims.
Claims
1. Thermo insulating and load carrying double walled wooden block formed in the form of rectangle parallelepiped and comprises two longitudinal walls forming outer wall and partition or insulating wall and inner wall, and at least two cross walls positioned there between leaving free the ends of longitudinal walls, wherein between both cross walls a insulating material is arranged, characterized in that recesses (6) are arranged at both ends of both longitudinal walls (2A; 2B) of a wooden block (1), whose form and arrangement complies with the recesses (6) of the longitudinal walls
(2A; 2B) of the adjacent wooden block (1), wherein between recesses (6) can be arranged a connecting bar or connecting key (8; 8A) with protrusion (9) or notches, form of which are close to the form and location of recesses (6) of longitudinal walls (2A; 2B) and which align with the recesses (6) of longitudinal wall (2A; 2B).
2. Thermo insulating and load carrying double walled wooden block (1) according to claim 1 , characterized in that profiled connecting key (8B) formed in the form of rectangle parallelepiped is arranged at the end of one wooden block (1), which all together defines the second cross wall (3) and connecting key (8), wherein detents (12) additionally are arranged between connecting key (8B) and wooden block (1) into interrelated profiled recesses (6).

Thermo insulating and load carrying double walled wooden block (1) according to claim 1 and 2, characterized in that profiled protrusions (10) are formed on the narrowest and the longest sides (7) of longitudinal wall (2A; 2B) aligning with stacked onto it profiled recesses (11) of longitudinal wall (2A; 2B) of wooden block (1), wherein profile of longitudinal wall (2A; 2B) is milled to the self fixing connecting key (8), wherein on both sides of cross wall (3) are slots.
4. Thermo insulating and load carrying double walled wooden block (1) according to anyone of the preceding claims, characterized in that profiles of end recesses (6) of longitudinal walls (2A; 2B) provide connection to each other or through detents (12) and that the cross walls (3) of the black are arranged into the block so that they vertically and additional wall fastening bars (15) are arranged between both cross walls (3).
5. Thermo insulating and load carrying double walled wooden block (1) according to anyone of the preceding claims, characterized in that the length of cross walls (3) of double walled wooden block (1) and width of profiled connecting keys (8; 8B) are changeable, thereby can be changed a thickness of double walled wooden block (1).
6. Thermo insulating and load carrying double walled wooden block (1) according to anyone of the preceding claims, characterized in that longitudinal walls (2A; 2B) of double walled wooden block (1) comprises at least two, preferably four, lateral arranged and tangentially glued wooden beams, width and height of which is changeable, thereby changing width and height of longitudinal walls (2A, 2B), and an oblique edge is milled in a vertical connection area.
7. Method for constructing a wall from thermo insulating and load carrying double walled wooden block (1) where double walled wooden block (1) is connected with adjacent double walled wooden block (1) and where rows of double walled wooden blocks (1) are stacked on each other and/or alternately, characterized in that double walled wooden blocks (1) to be connected are connected by the means of the recesses (6) of longitudinal walls (2A; 2B) and/or connecting keys (8; 8B), wherein bars (15) with its ends threaded and fixed into a building foundation (14) are vertically arranged through wooden blocks (1), especially through its cross walls (3).
8. Method for constructing a wall from thermo insulating and load carrying double walled wooden block (1) according to claim 7, characterized in that wooden blocks (1) to be adjacent connected are connected and fixed by means of double wooden uprights (20) having lower and upper double walled crowns (23; 26), which form a carcase of wooden building and which can be made from any material, wherein wooden blocks (1) are connected and fixed to double walled wooden uprights (20) by means of locking uprights (29), wherein wooden blocks (1) stacked on each other are arranged on each other vertically, and bars (15) with its ends threaded and fixed into a building foundation (14) are vertically arranged through wooden blocks (1), especially through its cross walls (3). Method for constructing a wall from thermo insulating and load carrying double walled wooden block (1) according to claim 7, characterized in that the wooden blocks (1) to be connected adjacent are connected to each other at the end of its longitudinal walls (2A; 2B), where is formed recesses as profiled self fixing block connections, which can be additionally accompanied by detents (12) inserted thereto, wherein cross walls (3) are arranged in the block (1) so that to be aligned vertically to each other, where after that the wall locking bars (15) are installed.
