Abstract

본 발명은 갱신-예측 구조 리프팅 기반 웨이블렛 변환 장치와 방법, 이를 위한 적응적 예측 장치와 방법, 및 이를 위한 기록 매체에 관한 것으로서, 예측하고자 하는 해당 홀수 다상 샘플로부터 갱신 시 영향을 받은 제 1 갱신 짝수 다상 샘플을 설정하고, 상기 설정된 제 1 갱신 짝수 다상 샘플을 중심으로 복수의 예측 방향 후보군을 설정하며, 상기 설정된 복수의 예측 방향 후보군 중에서 고대역에서 에너지를 최소화하기 위한 제 1 예측 방향을 선택하고, 상기 제 1 예측 방향 및 그 제 1 예측 방향에 대응하는 갱신 짝수 다상 샘플을 기반으로 제 1 예측치를 구하고, 상기 제 1 예측치를 해당 홀수 다상 샘플로부터 감하여 잔여 홀수 다상 샘플을 구함으로써, 갱신-예측 구조 리프팅 방식을 기반으로 설계된 방향성 웨이블렛 변환을 이용하여 영상 내의 공간적 상관관계를 제거할 때, 고 대역 신호에 큰 에너지 성김 효과를 제공하여 부호화 효율을 증대시킨다.
