Abstract

본 발명은 영상 부호화 장치 및 방법, 및 거기에 이용되는 변환 부호화 장치 및 방법, 변환기저 생성장치 및 방법, 및 영상 복호화 장치 및 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 실시예에 따른 영상 부호화 장치는, 현재 매크로블록 이전에 부호화된 일정 단위의 매크로블록들 중에서 동일한 인트라 예측모드를 가지고 있는 블록들의 예측 오차를 결집하는 인트라 예측오차 결집부; 인트라 예측오차 결집부에 의해 결집된 예측 오차에 기초하여 각각의 인트라 예측모드에 대한 변환기저를 생성하는 변환기저 생성부; 방향적 인트라 예측모드에 따라 현재 프레임 내의 대상 블록의 주변 픽셀을 이용하여 현재 픽셀의 픽셀 값을 예측하며, 현재 픽셀과의 차이를 통해 예측 오차를 생성하는 인트라 예측부; 및 변환기저 생성부에 의해 생성된 변환기저를 이용하여 인트라 예측부에 의해 생성된 예측 오차를 변환 부호화하는 변환 부호화부를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 한다. 본 발명에 의하면, 영상의 특성 변화에 따라 적응적으로 변환기저를 생성하여 인트라 예측 오차를 변환 부호화함으로써, 어떠한 부가정보의 추가없이 인트라 예측 부호화의 성능을 크게 향상시켜 비디오 압축 장치의 압축 효율 또는 복원 영상의 화질을 크게 향상시킬 수 있게 된다.
