Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Betrieb eines Navigationssystems in einem nicht navigationsführenden Zustand, in dem ausgehend von der aktuellen Fahrzeugposition (06) und Fahrtrichtung (07) zumindest eine wahrscheinliche Fahrtroute prognostiziert wird (140) und die Fahrtroute auf das Auftreten von Verkehrsstörungen (100), die durch ein Verkehrsstörungsmeldesystem übermittelt werden (110), überwacht wird (100-190). Das Verfahren umfasst hierzu die Schritte: - Bestimmung mindestens eines ortsabhängigen Umgebungsparameters (120, 200), insbesondere befahrener Straßentyp, Position innerhalb/außerhalb von Ortschaften, bisherige Fahrhistorie auf der Fahrtroute und/oder Bestimmung der gerade durchfahrenen Region/Land, in Abhängigkeit von der Fahrzeugposition (06) und Fahrtrichtung (07); - Bestimmung eines Maximaldistanzwerts (08, 09) von der Fahrzeugposition (06) zum Ort einer gemeldeten Verkehrsstörung (100) entlang der Fahrtroute in Abhängigkeit zumindest von dem ortsabhängigen Umgebungsparameter (210), bei dessen Unterschreitung der Fahrer über die als somit relevant klassifizierte Verkehrsstörung informiert wird (180). Des Weiteren betrifft die Erfindung eine Vorrichtung, die geeignet ist, das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren durchzuführen.
