Definitions

  • the invention relates to a device for building elements that makes it possible to join together a number of such elements in the vertical and/or horizontal directions, whereby if placed under a load or pressure from any direction whatsoever, the said building elements are nonetheless self-locking, i.e. they cannot be pressed, dragged, or lifted in any direction from a joined structure made of such building elements, with their associated detachable locking profiles, or that something of the kind (in certain variants of the invention) shall at least approach as closely as possible such a desired self-locking between building elements.
  • the device is made such that the building elements are provided with countersunk tracks on the top and bottom sides, with the sides of the tracks being slanted and positioned at an angle to each other such that, in an imaginary extension thereof, they intersect with each other beyond the side of the building element.
  • the tracks on the top and bottom sides extend at an angle in different directions, so that the intersection of the tracks' presumed extensions ends up on different sides of the building element. Placement of the tracks is such that, when two building elements are placed against each other, the tracks form a common opening into which detachable, oblong locking profiles can be inserted to create an arrangement that is (self ) -locking in all directions, both horizontally and vertically, between the building elements.
  • Building blocks are known from the toy and construction industries that can be used for constructing walls, for example, and which use locking elements designed to prevent relative shifting of the elements once they have been joined.

  • the object of the present invention is to remedy this situation to the greatest extent possible, with regard both to the technical solution to the problem and to the simplest possible way to manufacture and to build with the elements, all of which shall be achieved with that which is characteristic of it (the invention) in the special description below (with accompanying figures) and in the subsequent patent claims.

  • Both the tracks and the locking profiles can be flat or dovetailed or have any desired locking shapes. (See - once again - some non-limiting examples of such shapes in the accompanying figure 5) .
  • These two tracks and locking profiles can also be conical, and the locking profiles can also here be provided with an elastic coating and the tracks can also be covered with a thin elastic material, and the entire surface of the adjacent logs or parts of their surfaces can also be provided with an elastic material .
  • All these building elements, both blocks and logs, either of entire lengths or divided into joined lengths, can also be made such that their opposite sides are not just parallel, but are also angled or with a radius of curvature or with some other curved shape that is complementary in shape to the adjacent building element (s) in a configuration of such building elements.
  • the self-locking mechanism/principle/arrangement described here for building elements of (but not limited to) block/log shape can also be obtained in that the locking profiles described (thus) here are driven (forced) into the elements described here (or in the right places to obtain the same self-locking effect between building elements), thereby creating the countersunk, slanted, locking tracks between building elements.
  • Such locking, countersunk, slanted tracks in the building element (s) as described here can be placed on any, one or multiple or all, side(s) of the building elements.
