これらラジエータゃコンデンサは、 走行風を利用するために車両の前方に配置 することが一般的である。 近年、 車両の小型 ·軽量化、 電装ゃノヽイブリット化に よる補機類の増加等によりエンジンルームは狭小となっている。 そのため、 ラジ エータゃコンデンサの配置の制約が大きくなる。 これらが適切に排熱されない場 合は、 内 関の冷却効率の 匕や空調装置の効率の悪化が発生するという問題 がある。 さらに、 燃費向上のためには軽量化が望ましく、 部品点数の削減も求め られている。
例えば、 引用文献 2には、 冷凍サイクルのコンデンサの凝縮熱をランキンサイ クルシステムに利用するものであるが、 冷凍サイクルにはコンデンサが設けられ ているので、 前述のような問題が発生しうる。
本宪明はこのような問題点に鑑みてなされたものであり、 内 β関の排熱及び 冷凍サイクルシステムの排熱を有効的に利用しつつ、 部品点数を削減し、 スぺー スの有効利用が可能な排熱回生システムを提供することを目的とする。

なお、 本実施形態では、 エンジン 2 2の熱を吸収した冷却水をエバポレータ 1 2に通過させて熱交換を行う。 これに対して、 例えば、 エンジン 2 2の排気管の 排熱を回収する経路を備え、 この回収経路を経由した冷却水をエバポレータに送 るように構成してもよレ、。 また、 エンジン冷却システム 2 0とは別の経路を備え 、 ポンプ等を用いてエンジン 2 2又は排気管の排熱をエバポレータ 1 2へと送る ように構成してもよい。
冷凍サイクルシステム 3 0は、 冷媒 (エアコン冷媒) が矢印方向に循環される 冷醒路 3 1中に、 コンプレッサ 3 2、 膨張弁 3 5、 エバポレータ 3 6及びプレ ボイラ 1 6を備える。 なお、 冷媒は一般的に R 1 3 4 aが用いられる。
コンプレッサ 3 2は、 冷媒を圧縮して高温高圧の冷媒としてプレボイラ 1 6に 送出する。 プレボイラ 1 6では、 冷媒とランキンサイクルシステムの作動媒体と で熱交換する。 この熱交換により冷媒が纖されて液化する。 膨張弁 3 5は、 液 相の冷媒を膨張させることにより気ィ匕させ、 低温低圧の冷媒としてエバポレータ 3 6に送出する。 エバポレータ 3 6は、 送出された低温の冷媒とエバポレータ 3 6を通過する空気とを熱交換させ、 この空気を冷却する。 この冷却された空気が 車両の空調に用いられる。
冷媒経路 3 1のうち、 プレボイラ 1 6の入口付近には、 このプレボイラ 1 6の 入口付近の冷媒温度を測定する温度センサ (第 1の温度センサ) 3 7が備えられ ている。 また、 コンプレッサ 3 2は、 後述するように吐出圧が可変である。 また 、 排熱回生システム 1は、 これら センサ 1 7、 3 7が測定した に基づい て、 ポンプ 1 5及びコンプレッサ 3 2を制御するエンジンコントロールュニット
(E C U) 5 0が備えられている。 以上のように、 本発明の実施の形態の排熱回生システム 1は、 まず、 プレボィ ラ 1 6において、 ランキンサイクルシステム 1 0の ί働媒体と冷凍サイクルシス テム 3 0の冷媒とで熱交換することで、 ランキンサイクノレシステム 1 0の^ ¾媒 体を加熱する。 その後、 エバポレータ 1 2において、 ランキンサイクノレシステム 1 0の ¾媒体とエンジン冷却システム 2 0の冷却水とが熱交換することで、 ラ ンキンサイクルシステム 1 0の作動媒体をさらに加熱する。 これらの熱が、 膨張 器 1 3においてエネルギーに変換される。
このような構成によって、 エンジン 2 2が発生する熱をエネルギーとして再利 用できだけではなく、 冷凍サイクルシステム 3 0において発生する熱をもェネル ギ一として再利用することができ、 よりエネルギー効率が高いランキンサイクル システム 1 0を ¾ftすることができる。
またさらに、 本発明の実施の形態の排熱回生システム 1は、 ランキンサイクル システム 1 0の 媒体と冷凍サイクルシステム 3 0の冷媒とをプレボィラ 1 6 において熱交換するよう構成した。 これにより、 従来、 冷凍サイクルシステム 3 0において必要であった、 コンプレッサ 3 2の凝縮熱を放出するためのコンデン サを備える必要がなくなり、 システム全体を小型化することができる。
ここで、 ランキンサイクルシステム 1 0及び冷凍サイクルシステム 3 0は、 そ れぞれ独立した熱サイクルで稼働している。 そのため、 ランキンサイクルシステ ム 1 0の作動媒体と冷凍サイクルシステム 3 0の冷媒とが適切に熱交換されるよ うに、 これらの を制御する必要がある。
図 2は、 本発明の実施の形態のランキンサイクルシステム 1 0及び冷凍サイク ルシステム 3 0の制御を示すフローチャートである。
この図 2に示す処理は、 ランキンサイクルシステム 1 0のポンプ 1 5と、 冷凍 サイクルシステム 3 0のコンプレッサ 3 2との吐出圧をそれぞれ制御することに より、 ランキンサイクルシステム 1 0の ¾媒体と冷凍サイクルシステム 3 0の 冷媒との温度をそれぞれ制御するものである。 なお、 この制御は車両の各種制御 を司るエンジンコントロールユニット (E CU) 5 0によって行われる。
本フローチヤ一トの処理は、 車両の制御パネルのエアコンのスィツチが ONに される等、 冷凍サイクルシステム 3 0の制御が開始されたときに実行される (ス テツプ S 1 0 )。
なお、 冷凍サイクルシステム 3 0が制御されていない^、 すなわち、 冷媒が 循環していない状態では、 本フローチャートによる制御を実行しない。 この 、 ランキンサイクルシステム 1 0は、 エバポレータ 1 2においてのみ熱を受け取 る。 プレボイラ 1 6においては、 作動媒体が通過するのみである。
次に、 E CU 5 0は、 ランキンサイクルシステム 1 0の ¾¾媒体の温度と冷凍 サイクルシステム 3 0の冷媒の? asとの a¾差 Xを算出し、 この 差 Xが、 所 定値 A以上である力否かを判定する (ステップ S 2 0 )。
なお、 所定値 Aは、 ランキンサイクルシステム 1 0の作動媒体と冷凍サイクル システム 3 0の冷媒とで適切に熱交換が行われるための 差の下限値である。 所定値 Aは、 ランキンサイクルシステム 1 0や冷凍サイクルシステム 3 0の特性 によって任意に決定されうる値である。
この所定値 Aは、 例えば、 次の式により算出する。
A = QZL
ただし、
Q : コンプレッサ 3 2の凝縮熱 (kW)
L:冷凍サイクルシステム 3 0が必要とする平均放熱率 (kW/°C) である。
すなわち、 プレボイラ 1 6において、 ランキンサイクルシステム 1 0の作動媒 体と冷凍サイクルシステム 3 0の冷媒との 差が A以上であれば、 冷凍サイク ルシステム 3 0においてコンプレッサ 3 2によって発生した凝縮熱が、 ランキン サイクルシステム 1 0の «媒体へと吸収される。 これにより、 従来、 冷凍サイ クルシステム 3 0に必要であった、 前述の Lを満たす容量を持つコンデンサを備 える必要がなくなる。
^^差 Xが所定値 Aよりも小さいと判定した場合は、 ステップ S 3 0に^し 、 E CU 5 0は、 ランキンサイクルシステム 1 0の ¾)媒体と冷凍サイクルシス テム 3 0の冷媒との 差を増加させる制御を実行する。
差 Xが所定値 Aよりも小さい^は、 ランキンサイクルシステム 1 0の作 動媒体と冷凍サイクルシステム 3 0の冷媒との 差が、 熱交換するには小さす ぎる。 そのため、 過剰な熱のために冷凍サイクルシステム 3 0の効率が著しく低 下する場合がありうる。
そこで、 ステップ S 3 0において、 E CU 5 0は、 ランキンサイク システム 1 0のポンプ 1 5の吐出圧を減少させる制御を実行する。 一方で、 冷凍サイクル システム 3 0のコンプレッサ 3 2の吐出圧を増加させる処理を実行する。
この処理によって、 ランキンサイクルシステム 1 0の ¾¾媒体の が下降す る。 一方、 冷凍サイクルシステム 3 0の冷媒の は上昇する。 この結果、 ¾ 差 Xが増加し、 熱交換するために適切な 差となる。
一方、 温度差 Xが所定値 A以上であると判定した場合は、 ステップ S 4 0に移 行する。
温度差 Xが所定値 A以上である場合は、 ランキンサイクルシステム 1 0の作動 媒体と冷凍サイクルシステム 3 0の冷媒との温度差 Xは熱交換を行うのに十分で ある。 そこで、 E C U 5 0は、 温度差に関与する制御を行うことなく、 各々のシ ステムで独立して制御を行う。 具体的には、 E C U 5 0は、 冷凍サイクルシステ ム 3 0のコンプレッサ 3 2を、 エアコン制御の指令値に基づいた吐出圧に制御す る。 一方、 ランキンサイクルシステム 1 0のポンプ 1 5を、 ランキンサイクルシ ステム 1 0の制御の指令値に基づいた吐出圧に制御する。
以上のように、 プレボィラ 1 6の入口の冷媒及ぴ作動媒体の温度差に基づいて 、 £じ11 5 0カ コンプレッサ 3 2及びポンプ 1 5の吐出圧を制御することによ つて、 冷媒及ぴ作動媒体の をコントローノレし、 適切な 差に制御すること ができる。
なお、 ポンプ 1 5又はコンプレッサ 3 2の吐出圧と液相の冷媒又は作動媒体の ¾とは対数比例するため、 吐出圧を制御することにより、 冷媒又は作動媒体の 温度を容易に制御することができる。 なお、 冷媒及ぴ 媒体の温度を測定する のではなく、 コンプレッサ 3 2及びポンプ 1 5の入口及び出口の圧力差によって 、 温度を算出してもよい。
なお、 これらポンプ 1 5又はコンプレッサ 3 2には、 例えば斜板式やべーン式 等の可変容量型のポンプ等を用いことにより、 吐出圧を可変させる。
以上のように、 本発明の実施の形態では、 エンジン 2 2の排熱を利用してエネ ルギーを発生するランキンサイクルシステム 1 0において、 冷却水のみならず、 冷凍サイクルシステム 3 0の冷媒の熱をも用いて、 より大きな熱を得ることがで きょう構成した。 これにより、 ランキンサイクルシステム 1 0のエネルギー効率 を高めることができる。
そして、 冷凍サイクルシステム 3 0の冷媒とで熱交換するプレボイラ 1 6を備 えたので、 冷凍サイクルシステム 3 0の経路内に、 大気と熱交換するためのコン デンサを備える必要がなくなる。 これにより、 空間に余裕が生じ、 車両のスぺー ス効率を高めることができる。 また、 部品点数が少なくなるため、 コストを低減 することができると共に、 燃費効率を高めることができる。 特に、 従来冷凍サイクルシステムに必要であったコンデンサは、 大気と熱交換 するという特徴から、 車両の走行風を利用するために車両の前方に備える必要が あった。 本発明の実施の形態のプレボイラ 1 6は、 大気との熱交換する必要がな いため、 搭載位置の制限がない。 例えばプレボイラ 1 6を床下や車両後方に配置 することもできる。 これにより、 ランキンサイクルシステム 1 0や冷凍サイクル システム 3 0のレイァゥトの自由度が高まるので、 スペース効率を高めることが できる。
さらに、 コンプレッサ 3 2及ぴポンプ 1 5を制御して、 ランキンサイクルシス テム 1 0の ί働媒体と冷凍サイクルシステム 3 0の冷媒との 差を所定値以上 に制御するので、 冷凍サイクルシステム 3 0の効率を低下させることなく、 冷凍 サイクルシステム 3 0とランキンサイクルシステム 1 0とで確実に熱交換するこ とができる。 また、 これら冷媒と作動媒体との 制御は、 E C U 5 0によって 、 コンプレッサ 3 2及びポンプ 1 5の吐出圧を制御すればよく、 特殊な構成を追 加する必要がない。
なお、 本発明の実施の形態では、 エンジン 2 2に用いられるエンジン冷却シス テム 2 0を例に説明したが、 内 β関の排熱の利用に限られるものではない。 例 えば燃料電池や、 モータ、 バッテリ等の排熱を利用するように構成してもよい。 また、 本発明の実施の形態では、 冷凍サイクルシステム 3 0の冷媒を R 1 3 4 aと例示した力 その他の冷媒を用いてもよい。 例えば 熱が高い C O 2を冷 媒として用いて、 ランキンサイクルシステム 1 0の作動媒体との ¾ ^差を十分に とることができれば、 図 2のような吐出圧制御を行う必要がなくなる。 これによ り、 コンプレッサ 3 2やポンプ 1 5の構造が簡素となると共に、 C 0 2冷媒の排 熱により熱回生効率が高まる。
本願は、 2 0 0 8年 2月 2 7日に日本国特許庁に出願された特願 2 0 0 8— 0 4 5 7 8 6に基づく優先権を主張するものである。 これらの出願の全ての内容は 参照により本明細書に組み込まれる。
