本発明における撥水撥油剤組成物は、パーフルオロアルキル基を有する化合物に基づく繰り返し単位を有する含フッ素重合体、またはパーフルオロアルキル基を有する化合物に基づく繰り返し単位および塩基性基を有する化合物に基づく繰り返し単位を有する含フッ素重合体と、媒体(分散媒または溶媒)とを含む組成物である。
塩基性基とは、プロトン酸基とイオン結合しうる基である。塩基性基としては、-NR1R2、-N(O)R1R2、=NR基、-NR-基、=NH基、-NH-基、ピペリジノ基、ピロリジニル基、モルホリノ基等が挙げられる。ここで、R、R1、R2はそれぞれ独立に、ベンジル基、炭素数が1~8のアルキル基、アルキレン基または水素原子の一部が水酸基で置換された炭素数が2~3のアルキル基である。R1、R2としては、炭素数1~4のアルキル基が好ましい。
低分子量タイプとしては、含フッ素ウレタン化合物、含フッ素エステル化合物等が挙げられる。
含フッ素ウレタン化合物は、パーフルオロアルキル基を有するアルコールとイソシアネートとの反応生成物である。
含フッ素エステル化合物は、パーフルオロアルキル基を有するアルコールと酸基を有する化合物(リン酸、ピロメット酸等。)との反応生成物である。
含フッ素ビニル系重合体としては、パーフルオロアルキル基を有する(メタ)アクリレートの共重合体が好ましい。パーフルオロアルキル基を有する(メタ)アクリレートとしては、炭素数が4~16のパーフルオロアルキル基を有する(メタ)アクリレートが好ましく、炭素数が4~6のパーフルオロアルキル基を有する(メタ)アクリレートがより好ましい。具体的には、C6F13C2H4OCOCH=CH2、C6F13C2H4OCOC(CH3)=CH2、C6F13C2H4OCOCCl=CH2が挙げられる。
塩化ビニル、塩化ビニリデン、エチレン、フッ化ビニリデン、酢酸ビニル、プロピオン酸ビニル、イソブタン酸ビニル、イソデカノン酸ビニル、ステアリル酸ビニル、セチルビニルエーテル、ドデシルビニルエーテル、イソブチルビニルエーテル、エチルビニルエーテル、2-クロロエチルビニルエーテル、スチレン、α-メチルスチレン、p-メチルスチレン、クロロメチルスチレン、メチル(メタ)アクリレート、ブチル(メタ)アクリレート、2-エチルヘキシル(メタ)アクリレート、炭素数が12~24のアルキル基を有する(メタ)アクリレート、2-ヒドロキシエチル(メタ)アクリレート、シクロヘキシルメタクリレート、グリシジルエチルメタクリレート、3-クロロ-2-ヒドロキシプロピルメタクリレート、N-メチロール(メタ)アクリルアミド、N-ブトキシメチル(メタ)アクリルアミド。
N,N,N-トリメチル-n-(2-ヒドロキシ-3-メタクリロイルオキシプロピル)アンモニウムクロライド等のアンモニウム基を有する単量体。
有機溶剤としては、ジプロピレングリコール、トリプロピレングリコール等が挙げられる。
撥水撥油剤組成物が、パーフルオロアルキル基を有する化合物に基づく繰り返し単位を有し、塩基性基を有する化合物に基づく繰り返し単位を有さない含フッ素重合体が媒体に分散または溶解した撥水撥油剤組成物(I)である場合と、パーフルオロアルキル基を有する化合物に基づく繰り返し単位および塩基性基を有する化合物に基づく繰り返し単位を有する含フッ素重合体が媒体に分散または溶解した撥水撥油剤組成物(II)である場合とで、分析方法が一部異なる。
撥水撥油剤組成物(I)の場合は、下記方法(i)によって撥水撥油剤組成物(I)中の炭素数が20以下である低分子の有機化合物の分析を行い、撥水撥油剤組成物(II)の場合は、下記方法(ii)によって撥水撥油剤組成物(II)中の炭素数が20以下である低分子の有機化合物の分析を行う。
(a)含フッ素重合体が媒体に分散または溶解した撥水撥油剤組成物(I)と、炭素数が1~5のアルコールとを混合し、含フッ素重合体を凝集させ、含フッ素重合体の凝集物を含む液を得るステップ。
(b)含フッ素重合体の凝集物を含む液を固液分離し、液相を得るステップ。
(c)LC-MS、LC-MS/MSまたはGC-MSを用いて、液相中の炭素数が20以下である低分子の有機化合物の濃度を測定するステップ。
(a’)含フッ素重合体が媒体に分散または溶解した撥水撥油剤組成物(II)と、炭素数が1~5のアルコールと、塩基性化合物とを混合し、含フッ素重合体を凝集させ、含フッ素重合体の凝集物を含む液を得るステップ。
(b)含フッ素重合体の凝集物を含む液を固液分離し、液相を得るステップ。
(c)LC-MS、LC-MS/MSまたはGC-MSを用いて、液相中の炭素数が20以下である低分子の有機化合物の濃度を測定するステップ。
ステップ(a):
ステップ(a)は、撥水撥油剤組成物(I)に分散または溶解している含フッ素重合体を凝集させることによって、後段のステップ(b)において含フッ素重合体からなる固相と、媒体等の液相とを分離しやすくするステップである。
ステップ(b)は、ステップ(a)で得られた含フッ素重合体の凝集物を含む液を、固液分離し、液相のみを採取するステップである。
(b-1)含フッ素重合体の凝集物を含む液を静置して、含フッ素重合体の凝集物を沈殿させ、上澄み液(液相)を採取する方法。
(b-2)遠心分離機を用いて、含フッ素重合体の凝集物を含む液を固液分離し、上澄み液(液相)を採取する方法。
(b-3)含フッ素重合体の凝集物を含む液をろ過処理し、ろ液(液相)を採取する方法。
ステップ(c)は、LC-MS、LC-MS/MSまたはGC-MSを用いて、ステップ(b)で得られた液相中の炭素数が20以下である低分子の有機化合物の濃度を測定するステップである。
炭素数が20以下である低分子の有機化合物が、パーフルオロカルボン酸および/またはパーフルオロスルホン酸である場合の濃度の測定装置としては、特定の化合物を選択性高く、かつ高感度で分析できる点から、LC-MS/MSが好ましい。一方、炭素数が20以下である低分子の有機化合物がPFOAの前駆体類である場合の濃度の測定装置としては、GC-MSが好ましい。

本発明の分析方法は、(パーフルオロアルキル)エチルアルコールが(パーフルオロオクチル)エチルアルコール(C8F17CH2CH2OH)の場合に好適である。

ステップ(a’):
ステップ(a’)は、撥水撥油剤組成物(II)に分散または溶解している含フッ素重合体を析出、凝集させることによって、後段のステップ(b)において含フッ素重合体からなる固相と、媒体等の液相とを分離しやすくするステップである。
炭素数が1~5のアルコールとしては、方法(i)で例示したものが挙げられる。
アルコールの量は、炭素数が20以下である低分子の有機化合物の希釈率の点から、撥水撥油剤組成物(II)の100質量部に対して、100~1000質量部が好ましく、100~500質量部がより好ましい。
塩基性化合物の量は、含フッ素重合体が凝集し得る量が好ましく、具体的には、含フッ素重合体の100質量部に対して、100~1000質量部が好ましく、100~500質量部がより好ましい。
方法(ii)におけるステップ(b)~(c)は、方法(i)におけるステップ(b)~(c)と同様に行う。
ただし、塩基性化合物によるHPLCカラムの劣化を防ぐために、ステップ(b)で得られた液相に酸性化合物を加え、液相中に残存する塩基性化合物を中和する必要がある。
酸性化合物としては、塩酸、硫酸等が挙げられる。
<PFOAの定量>
下記LC-MS/MSを用い、下記測定条件にてPFOAの濃度の測定(定量)を行った。定量値の計算には、標準添加法を用いた。
HPLC:資生堂社製、ナノスペースSI-2。
MS/MS:サーモフィッシャーサイエンティフック社製、TSQ Quantum Discovery MAX。
カラム:サーモフィッシャーサイエンティフック社製、Hypersil GOLD、2.1mm×50mm、1.9μm。

ガラス製ビーカーに、C6F13C2H4OCOC(CH3)=CH2(以下、FMAと記す。)の76.6g、ステアリルアクリレート(以下、STAと記す。)の13.5g、2-イソシアナトエチルメタクリレートの3,5-ジメチルピラゾール付加体(以下、D-BIと記す。)の4.1g、乳化剤のポリオキシエチレンオレイルエーテル(エチレンオキシド約26モル付加物、以下、PEO-30と記す。)の10%水溶液の25.9g、ステアリルトリメチルアンモニウムクロリド(以下、STMACと記す。)の10%水溶液の5.2g、エチレンオキシドプロピレンオキシド重合物(エチレンオキシド40%含有、以下、EPO-40と記す。)の10%水溶液の5.2g、イオン交換水の123g、ジプロピレングリコール(以下、DPGと記す。)の31.0g、n-ドデシルメルカプタン(以下、DoSHと記す。)の1.0gを入れて、50℃で30分間加温した後、ホモミキサー(日本精機製作所社製、バイオミキサー)を用いて混合して混合液を得た。得られた混合液を、50℃に保ちながら高圧乳化機(APVラニエ社製、ミニラボ)を用いて、40MPaで処理して乳化液を得た。得られた乳化液の300gをステンレス製反応容器に入れ、開始剤のジメチル2、2’-アゾビス[2-(2-イミダゾリン-2-イルプロパン)酢酸塩(以下、VA-061Aと記す。)の10%水溶液の5.2gを加えて、30℃以下に冷却した。気相を窒素置換し、塩化ビニルモノマ(以下、VCMと記す。)の9.3gを導入した後、撹拌しながら65℃で15時間重合反応を行い、固形分濃度34.0質量%のエマルションを得た。該エマルションを撥水撥油剤組成物(I-1)とした。
ガラス製ビーカーに、FMAの98.5g、ベヘニルメタクリレート(日本乳化剤社製、VMA-70。以下、VMAと記す。)の5.5g、乳化剤のアセチレングリコールエチレンオキサイド付加物(エチレンオキサイド付加モル数10モル、以下AGE-10と記す。)の10%水溶液の32.8g、STMACの10%水溶液の4.4g、イオン交換水の141.6g、DPGの11g、ステアリルメルカプタン(以下、StSHと記す。)の0.55gを入れて、60℃で30分間加温した後、ホモミキサー(日本精機製作所社製、バイオミキサー)を用いて混合して混合液を得た。得られた混合液を、60℃に保ちながら高圧乳化機(APVラニエ社製、ミニラボ)を用いて、40MPaで処理して乳化液を得た。得られた乳化液の300gをステンレス製反応容器に入れ、開始剤のジメチル2、2’-アゾビス(2-メチルプロピオネート)(以下、V601と記す。)の0.3gを加えて、30℃以下に冷却した。気相を窒素置換し、VCMの5.5gを導入した後、撹拌しながら65℃で15時間重合反応を行い、その後窒素を吹き込みながら40度で一晩撹拌を行い、固形分濃度37.2質量%のエマルションAを得た。
ガラス製ビーカーに、FMAの68.9g、ジエチルアミノエチルメタクリレート(以下DEAEMAと記す。)の10.9g、ヒドロキシエチルメタクリレート(以下、HEMAと記す。)の10.1g、ポリプロピレングリコールジメタクリレート(プロピレングリコール3モル付加、以下3EDと記す。)の0.77g、アセトンの208.6g、を入れて、V601の0.73gを入れ、気相を窒素置換した。撹拌しながら65℃で20時間重合反応を行い、イオン交換水の150gおよび酢酸1.74gを加えて、55℃にて30分撹拌した。その後、撹拌しながら、45℃にて520Torrの減圧状態を30分間保持し、ついで85℃で10時間保持して、系中のアセトンを完全に留去した。固形分濃度20.6%の水分散液となるように調整した。該分散液を撥水撥油剤組成物(II-1)とした。
ガラス製ビーカーに、FMAの76.7g、STAの9.3g、D-BIの4.1g、PEO-30の10%水溶液の32.1g、STMACの10%水溶液の9.3g、EPO-40の10%水溶液の9.3g、イオン交換水の108g、DPGの31g、DoSHの1.0gを入れて、50℃で30分間加温した後、ホモミキサー(日本精機製作所社製、バイオミキサー)を用いて混合して混合液を得た。得られた混合液を、50℃に保ちながら高圧乳化機(APVラニエ社製、ミニラボ)を用いて、40MPaで処理して乳化液を得た。得られた乳化液の300gをステンレス製反応容器に入れ、VA-061Aの10%水溶液の5.2gを加えて、30℃以下に冷却した。気相を窒素置換し、VCMの13.5gを導入した後、撹拌しながら65℃で15時間重合反応を行い、固形分濃度34.6質量%のエマルションBを得た。
エマルションBと撥水撥油剤組成物(II-1)とを、固形分濃度換算で2対1となるように混合し、固形濃度20%の混合液を得た。該混合液を撥水撥油剤組成物(II-2)とした。
〔実施例1〕
ステップ(a):
2-プロパノール(以下、IPAと記す。)の4.0gをバイアル瓶に採取し、撥水撥油剤組成物(I-1)の1.1gを加え、よく混合し、含フッ素重合体を凝集させ、含フッ素重合体の凝集物を含む液を得た。
含フッ素重合体の凝集物を含む液を、9000回転で50分間、遠心分離し、固液分離させた。
上澄み液の0.5mLを採取し、メタノール/純水(50/50質量比)混合溶媒の4.5mLを加え、よく混合し、サンプル液を得た。
サンプル液を孔径0.2μmのクロマトディスクを用いて濾過しながら、HPLCオートサンプラー用バイアルに採取し、LC-MS/MSを用いてサンプル液中のPFOAの濃度を測定した。
同様の操作をもう一度繰り返した。PFOAは、いずれの測定でも不検出(検出下限:2ppb)であった。
撥水撥油剤組成物(I-1)の代わりに撥水撥油剤組成物(I-2)を用い、遠心分離の時間を30分間に変更した以外は、実施例1と同様にしてPFOAの濃度を2回測定した。PFOAは、いずれの測定でも不検出(検出下限:2ppb)であった。
ステップ(a’):
IPAの3.2gをバイアル瓶に採取し、1NのNaOHの3.2gを加え、よく混合した後、これに撥水撥油剤組成物(II-1)の3.2gを加えた。凝集した含フッ素重合体を粉砕するようによく撹拌し、含フッ素重合体の凝集物を含む液を得た。
含フッ素重合体の凝集物を含む液を、6000回転で10分間、遠心分離し、固液分離させた。
上澄み液の1.674mLを採取し、1NのHClの0.326mLを加え、よく撹拌して中和液を得た。
中和液の0.5mLを採取し、メタノール/純水(50/50質量比)混合溶媒の4.5mLを加え、よく混合し、サンプル液を得た。
サンプル液を孔径0.2μmのクロマトディスクを用いて濾過しながら、HPLCオートサンプラー用バイアルに採取し、LC-MS/MSを用いてサンプル液中のPFOAの濃度を測定した。
同様の操作をもう一度繰り返した。PFOAは、いずれの測定でも不検出(検出下限:2ppb)であった。
撥水撥油剤組成物(II-1)の代わりに撥水撥油剤組成物(II-2)を用い、遠心分離の条件を9000回転、30分間に変更した以外は、実施例3と同様にしてPFOAの濃度を2回測定した。PFOAは、いずれの測定でも不検出(検出下限:2ppb)であった。
各撥水撥油剤組成物のそれぞれに、各撥水撥油剤組成物中にて5.0ppbになるようにPFOA標品を加え、実施例1~4と同様にしてPFOAの濃度を測定した。測定結果を表4に示す。
いずれの測定についても、極微量分析として満足できる定量精度が得られた。
市販の撥水撥油剤組成物(スリーエム社製、PM1400、低分子量タイプ、パーフルオロアルキルスルフォアミド型ウレタン化合物)を用い、実施例3と同様にしてPFOAの濃度を測定した。PFOAは不検出(検出下限:2ppb)であった。
撥水撥油剤組成物(II)においては、IPAのみでは含フッ素重合体は凝集せず、NaOHが必要であった。
NaOHなしで、撥水撥油剤組成物(II)に含まれる含フッ素重合体を凝集しうる溶媒を検討した。結果を表5に示す。
アセトニトリルを用いたときのみ含フッ素重合体が凝集し、固液分離が可能であった。
ステップ(a”):
撥水撥油剤組成物(II-1)に、撥水撥油剤組成物中にて5.0ppbになるようにPFOA標品を加えた。
アセトニトリルの5mLをバイアル瓶に採取し、撥水撥油剤組成物(II-1)の1mLを加えた。凝集した含フッ素重合体を粉砕するようによく撹拌し、含フッ素重合体の凝集物を含む液を得た。
含フッ素重合体の凝集物を含む液を、6000回転で10分間、遠心分離し、固液分離させた。
上澄み液の0.5mLを採取し、メタノール/純水(50/50質量比)混合溶媒の4.5mLを加え、よく混合し、サンプル液を得た。
サンプル液を孔径0.2μmのクロマトディスクを用いて濾過しながら、HPLCオートサンプラー用バイアルに採取し、LC-MS/MSを用いてサンプル液中のPFOAの濃度を測定した。
PFOAの定量値は実施例7より低く、定量精度に劣っていた。
撥水撥油剤組成物(II-1)の代わりに撥水撥油剤組成物(II-2)を用い、遠心分離の条件を9000回転、30分間に変更した以外は、比較例1と同様にしてPFOAの濃度を測定した。
PFOAの定量値は実施例8より低く、定量精度に劣っていた。
〔実施例10〕
ステップ(a):
IPAの5mLをバイアル瓶に採取し、撥水撥油剤組成物(I-1)の1mLを加え、よく混合し、含フッ素重合体を凝集させ、含フッ素重合体の凝集物を含む液を得た。
含フッ素重合体の凝集物を含む液を、9000回転で50分間、遠心分離し、固液分離させた。
上澄み液を孔径0.2μmのクロマトディスクを用いて濾過しながら、GCオートサンプラー用バイアルに採取し、GC-MSを用いてサンプル液中のPFOA前駆体類の濃度を測定した。PFOA前駆体類は、いずれも不検出(検出下限:0.1ppm)であった。
撥水撥油剤組成物(I-1)の代わりに撥水撥油剤組成物(I-2)を用い、遠心分離の時間を30分間に変更した以外は、実施例10と同様にしてPFOA前駆体類の濃度を測定した。PFOA前駆体類は、いずれも不検出(検出下限:0.1ppm)であった。
ステップ(a’):
IPAの4mLをバイアル瓶に採取し、1NのNaOHの3mLを加え、よく混合した後、これに撥水撥油剤組成物(II-1)の3mLを加えた。凝集した含フッ素重合体を粉砕するようによく撹拌し、含フッ素重合体の凝集物を含む液を得た。
含フッ素重合体の凝集物を含む液を、6000回転で10分間、遠心分離し、固液分離させた。
上澄み液を孔径0.2μmのクロマトディスクを用いて濾過しながら、GCオートサンプラー用バイアルに採取し、GC-MSを用いてサンプル液中のPFOA前駆体類の濃度を測定した。PFOA前駆体類は、いずれも不検出(検出下限:0.1ppm)であった。
撥水撥油剤組成物(II-1)の代わりに撥水撥油剤組成物(II-2)を用い、遠心分離の条件を9000回転、30分間に変更した以外は、実施例12と同様にしてPFOA前駆体類の濃度を測定した。PFOA前駆体類は、いずれも不検出(検出下限:0.1ppm)であった。

Claims (7)
- 下記ステップを有する、撥水撥油剤組成物中の炭素数が20以下である低分子の有機化合物の分析方法。
(a)パーフルオロアルキル基を有する化合物に基づく繰り返し単位を有する含フッ素重合体が媒体に分散または溶解した撥水撥油剤組成物と、炭素数が1~5のアルコールとを混合し、前記含フッ素重合体を凝集させ、含フッ素重合体の凝集物を含む液を得るステップ。
(b)前記含フッ素重合体の凝集物を含む液を固液分離し、液相を得るステップ。
(c)液体クロマトグラフ-質量分析計、液体クロマトグラフ-タンデム質量分析計またはガスクロマトグラフ-質量分析計を用いて、前記液相中の炭素数が20以下である低分子の有機化合物の濃度を測定するステップ。 - 前記ステップ(a)が、下記ステップ(a’)である、請求項1に記載の撥水撥油剤組成物中の炭素数が20以下である低分子の有機化合物の分析方法。
(a’)パーフルオロアルキル基を有する化合物に基づく繰り返し単位および塩基性基を有する化合物に基づく繰り返し単位を有する含フッ素重合体が媒体に分散または溶解した撥水撥油剤組成物と、炭素数が1~5のアルコールと、塩基性化合物とを混合し、前記含フッ素重合体を凝集させ、含フッ素重合体の凝集物を含む液を得るステップ。 - 前記炭素数が20以下である低分子の有機化合物が、パーフルオロカルボン酸および/またはパーフルオロスルホン酸である、請求項1または2に記載の撥水撥油剤組成物中の炭素数が20以下である低分子の有機化合物の分析方法。
- 前記炭素数が20以下である低分子の有機化合物が、パーフルオロオクタン酸および/またはパーフルオロオクタンスルホン酸である、請求項1または2に記載の撥水撥油剤組成物中の炭素数が20以下である低分子の有機化合物の分析方法。
- 前記炭素数が20以下である低分子の有機化合物が、(パーフルオロアルキル)エチルアルコール、(パーフルオロアルキル)エチルアイオダイド、(パーフルオロアルキル)エテンまたはパーフルオロアルキルアイオダイドである、請求項1または2に記載の撥水撥油剤組成物中の炭素数が20以下である低分子の有機化合物の分析方法。
- 前記炭素数が20以下である低分子の有機化合物が、(パーフルオロオクチル)エチルアルコール、(パーフルオロオクチル)エチルアイオダイド、(パーフルオロオクチル)エテンまたはパーフルオロオクチルアイオダイドである、請求項1または2に記載の撥水撥油剤組成物中の炭素数が20以下である低分子の有機化合物の分析方法。
- 撥水撥油剤組成物の100質量部に対して、アルコールの100~1000質量部を混合する、請求項1~6のいずれかに記載の撥水撥油剤組成物中の炭素数が20以下である低分子の有機化合物の分析方法。
