The membership management part 110 may store the information of subscribed member to the membership information storage part 134.
[91] Next, in the step of S311, the game operating part 120 provides the game opener with the items required to open a game participating room when the game opener is verified to have membership from a normal log-in process or membership status authentication process.
[92] Then, in the step of S321, when the game opener fills out the items and transmits the game operating part 120 checks whether the required fields are filled out. Preferably the items required of opening a game participating room includes game title, game category, game server, ID, contact information of the player, game level, special restriction, game results, etc. The game server may already be given as a default in the selection of items.
[93] Then, in the step of S331, a game participating room is open based on the given items. The open game participating room is registered to the list of open rooms.
[94] Then, in the step of S341, the game opener sets the items required to be input by the game participants. This S341 step may be omitted when the game opener already done this in the step S321 when opening the game participating room. In this case, the game opener may only change some items to be filled out by the participant in the step of S341.
[95] The items to be input by the participants may be classified as necessary items and optional items. For example, the items may include ID, entry coupon, game results and contact information of the participant, date of game, number of participants, and team name for a team participation (or team registration). When an entry coupon is required for entry or participation to the game the item of entry coupon shall be classified as a necessary item.
[96] That is, the game participant shall submit the entry coupon to join the battle game tournament. For example, when one piece of entry coupon is required for a participant to join the game the game participant selects "1" in the item input of entry coupon set by the game opener. When the number of entry coupon is not sufficient the participant may replenish the numbers of entry coupon through various payment means as aforementioned. When a team joins a team game the team leader inputs or selects necessary numbers of entry coupons according to the number of team members and the number of participants are decided based on the number of input entry coupons. [97] Here, the participant may submit an offline certificate of allowance for participation instead of online or cyber entry coupon. In this case the item for inputting entry coupon may be set out as an optional item. When the rules of battle game tournament allow the participation to the game without entry coupon the item for inputting entry coupon may be omitted.
[98] Further, the system may be configured to automatically submit necessary number of entry coupons and reduce the number of remaining entry coupons when the participant register to the game participating room, which makes it unnecessary to input the entry coupon information at the time of participation.
[99]
[100] Fig. 4 shows exemplary game lists according to an embodiment of the present invention.
[101] In Fig. 4, the game list contains information registered at the time of opening the game participating room and the information comprises a game category 402, game title 404, entry coupon 406, type of tournament 408, form of game 410 and date of registration 412.
[102] The game participant may apply for participation by clicking the game participating room that he would like to enter in the list of open and available game participating rooms. The process of applying for game participation will be explained in more detail with reference to Fig. 5.
[103]
[104] Fig. 5 shows a flow chart of an application for an entry to a game according to an embodiment of the present invention.
[105] At step S501, the membership management part 110 performs authentication on the membership status of the game player who desires to join the game participating room. The membership management part 110 performs authentication on the membership status of the participant via log-in process at the website of battle game service.
[106] At step S511, the game participant identifies open game participating rooms from the game list and selects one game participating room that he desires to participate in (or register to).
[107] Then, at step S521, the game participant clicks the game participating button in the game participating room, fills out all required items to join the game and apply for participation to the game. The game operating part 120 checks the items filled out by the participant and decides whether the items are inputted correctly. In a team game the leader of a team inputs his ID as well as his member's IDs to register them all as the participants to the game. Therefore the contact information of each team member can be verified through the IDs and provided to the game opener. The items required by the participant are illustrated in the above explanation regarding the step of S341. [108] Then, at step S531, the game participant is registered to the game participating room and the game operating part 120 send a SMS (or e-mail using wired or wireless Internet) to the game opener to inform that the participant registered (or applied) to the game participating room. The participant's information is also transmitted to the game opener's mobile terminal by the SMS service. For this service, the battle game service apparatus 100 is supposed to provide the messaging service in cooperation with a wireless communication company. The game opener can easily know the registration of the participant at any time any place and communicate with the participant for a battle game. When all players register the game participating room will be marked as closed for registration.
[109] The game opener may decide whether he will allow the participant's participation to the game that he opened. When he allows the participation of the participant he will click the YES button in the message asking for his allowance. Then the opener's response message shall be delivered to the participant. The response message may include the name of game participating room, game type, ID, contact information and game results of the game opener, date of game, game server, the allowance of participation, etc. The message may be in the form of at least one of SMS, MMS, LMS, mobile e-mail, mobile message using mobile messenger program, voice message and Shot mail.
[110] Then, at step S541, the game opener connects to the game server at a promised time by a mutual communication with the game participant and plays the battle game. When the date of game for each game is given by the rules and schedule of game tournament, the game opener and game participant shall access the game server on the designated date and time to play the game. The game operating part 120 transmits the information of game opener and game participant to the game server and the game server uses the transmitted information to perform authentication or transmit the game result to the battle game service apparatus 100. The game player participating to the game may perform information exchange and community activities through mutual communication.
[I l l] When the battle game is over, at step S551, the game server transmits the game result to the battle game service apparatus 100 and the game operating part 120 receives the game result and manages and updates the game results information of each player based on the receive game result. When the game is over the game result may be delivered to the game players and other members of the battle game service and the battle game service apparatus 100 may receive the game result data from the game server 350. Thereafter the management for the game results for the players is performed. The game status between the players may be marked as finished as shown by the game end mark 602 of the Fig. 6. The game result of win or lose may be auto- matically decided by the game server when the game is over.
[112] Especially when one to one match is played, one of the opener or the participant may click a "win" or "lose" button according to the game result that he thinks and the other player may click "consent" button to finish the game. For example, the participant may click the "YOU LOSE" button to send a message to the participant and the participant agrees by clicking the "consent" button. The game players may show the exhibits for game results using screen capture function and this may prohibit any manipulation on the game result and possible dispute.
[113] The aforementioned explanations regarding Fig. 3 and Fig. 5 will be applied not only to the tournament type game league but also to a 1 to 1 or 1 to many type matches.
[114] As shown in Fig. 6 the game schedule may be provided and updated according to each game result.
[115]
[116] Fig. 6 shows a list of matches in a tournament- type game league according to an embodiment of the present invention.
[117] As shown in Fig. 6, the battle game service apparatus 100 may provide a game schedule 600 according to game results played in the game server through the game participating room. That is, the game schedule 600 is composed through the processes from in Fig. 3 to Fig 5. When a game is over an end mark 601 is given to the match in the game schedule 600. The game players can understand the overall tournament status as well as the team status more easily with the game schedule 600.
[118] For example, when the round of 32 is over the game schedule 600 is updated for the round of 16 and messages will be automatically sent to the winners so that they identify their opponents in the round of 16.
[119] Further, one team can get contact information of the other team by clicking the other team in the game schedule 600 and communicate with each other to have a battle game again through the game participating room. The game schedule 600 is be provided by the battle game service apparatus 100 or the game server where the game is played.
[120]
[121] Figs. 7 and 8 show integrative administrative view for game servers of game contents providers according to an embodiment of the present invention.
[122] As aforementioned, the battle game service apparatus 100 can manage the game servers (#1~#N) of a multiple of game contents providers and a multiple of games (#1~#N) played in each game server in an integrated form. When the game schedule and the server are confirmed between game opener and game participant they access the confirmed game server and play the battle game.
[123] For example, a nationwide game league is held for the game #6 in various cities including Seoul, Pusan, Daegu, Daejeon, etc. As shown in Fig. 7, the game #6 may be played in the game servers #1~#5 and each game server may be a game server of a single game contents provider or of different game contents providers. The information of each game server may be registered to the battle game service apparatus by an operator providing the battle game service or the game contents provider. The game players access one of the #1 ~ #5 servers on a designated date to play the game of #6. The game server may be selected at the time of opening the game participating room by the game opener or by a mutual agreement between the game opener and game participant afterward.
[124] When the number of game players using a game server (e.g., the game server #3) exceeds the limitation and a new game opener selects the game server #3 to open a new game participating room, the game processing part 122 may constrain the selection of the game server #3 or recommend different game servers by sending a predetermined message to him. This process may disperse the risk of overload in the game server #3.
[125] Further, as shown in Fig. 8, a multiple of games and game servers servicing the battle game may be managed in an integrated form on a seasonal basis. That is, with reference to the date of game service, the games and game servers servicing the games may be managed by the battle game service apparatus 100. For example, the games held between July and August and related game servers may be managed in an integrated form. This principle may apply to other cases where games and game servers are managed based on the cities or special events.
[126] The above feature of the present invention prevents the player's rush into a specific server or overload of a specific server that provide a multiple of game services. For this reason the system may limit the player's right of selecting game server when opening game participating rooms or recommend the player to select a specific server of sufficient capacity. Further the system operator may identify the opener's information and notify the recommendation to the game opener. The management on the game and game servers according to a predetermined reference (e.g., date, city, special event, etc.) enhances the efficiency in the game operation and the overall network and system.
[127] According to further features of the present invention, Fig. 7 and Fig. 8 may be implemented on the monitor screen of the battle game apparatus. The game processing part 122 presents the information such as types of registered games, game server, game participating rooms, etc. and accordingly the monitor screen of the operator displays information charts. The system operator may identify the overall registration status of the game, game server and game participating room and manage it in an easier way.
[128] In this embodiment of the present invention the process of membership subscription has been explained in detail, whereas another embodiment will explain the process and special feature of sharing the collected membership information among several servers.
[129]
[130] Fig. 9 shows a conceptual view of a server network for providing the battle game service according to a further embodiment of the present invention. Fig. 10 shows a banner advertisement for inducing membership subscription according to the further embodiment of the present invention.
