Abstract

La présente invention concerne les piles, accumulateurs ou batteries au lithium, et plus particulièrement un matériau actif pour l'électrode négative de batterie rechargeables. Il s'agit plus particulièrement d'un matériau comprenant une phase ayant comme formule générale Li2 +v-4cCcTi3-wFexMyM'zO7-α, dans laquelle M et M' sont des ions métalliques des groupes 2 à 15 ayant un rayon ionique entre 0.5 et 0.8 Å en environnement octaédrique d'oxygène, v, w, x, y, z et α étant liés par les relations: 2α = -v+4w-3x-ny-n'z, garantissant l'électroneutralité, avec n et n' les degrés d'oxydation formels respectifs de M et M'; -0,5 ≤ v ≤ +0,5; y+z > 0; x+y+z = w et 0 < w ≤ 0,3; caractérisé en ce que au moins une partie du lithium est substituée par du carbone selon la relation 0 < c ≤ (2+v)/4. Le matériau de présente des capacités massiques et volumiques améliorées, pouvant atteindre 190 Ah/kg, tout en conservant les avantages précédemment acquis, notamment: - une faible perte en capacité au premier cycle, de 2 à 10 Ah/kg; - une excellente cyclabilité; - une faible polarisation de 30 à 70 mV en régime C/15.
