Abstract

 プリレコード機能をもつ画像符号化装置であって、映像信号を符号化することでクローズドGOP又はオープンGOPを生成する符号化部(11)と、符号化部(11)で生成された少なくとも1個のGOPを先入れ先出し方式で記憶するバッファ部(14)と、撮影の開始及び終了の指示を受け付けるユーザI/F部(12a)と、ユーザI/F部(12a)が撮影開始指示を受け付ける前に、非記録状態を確保したうえで符号化部(11)に符号化を開始させ継続させることでクローズドGOPを含むGOP列を生成させ、ユーザI/F部(12a)が撮影開始指示を受け付けると、非記録状態から記録状態に切り替えるとともに、符号化部(11)がオープンGOPだけからなるGOP列を生成するように符号化部(11)を制御する記録制御部(12b)とを備える。
