 冷媒通路(43)内に含まれる冷媒の量が減少することを抑制できる、回転電機(210)を提供する。この回転電機(210)は、回転部を備える。回転部は、回転可能に設けられたシャフト(58)と、シャフト(58)に固設されたロータコア(20)と、ロータコア(20)に埋設された永久磁石(31)とを含む。回転部には、永久磁石(31)を冷却するための冷媒が流通する冷媒通路(43)と、冷媒通路(43)へ冷媒を導入する導入口(42a)と、冷媒通路(43)から冷媒を排出可能な排出口(44)とが形成されている。そして、排出口(44)の開口面積の総和は、導入口(42a)の開口面積の総和よりも小さい。
