Abstract
本発明は、ゲータイト粒子を含む含液物を真空凍結乾燥した後に、該乾燥物を熱処理してヘマタイト粒子粉末とするか、必要により、ヘマタイト粒子粉末の粒子表面を、アルミニウムの水酸化物などの表面被覆物によって被覆、もしくは更に真空凍結乾燥を行うことで、粒子同士の凝結が少なく、ビヒクル中で分散しやすい非磁性下地層用非磁性粒子粉末を得るための製造方法に関する。本発明の製造方法は、表面平滑性が良好で、ドロップアウトが少ない磁気記録媒体を得ることのできる非磁性下地層用非磁性粒子粉末を製造できる。
