Abstract
プラズマディスプレイ装置は、放電空間を介して互いに対向する第1基板および第2基板を有するプラズマディスプレイパネル(PDP)と、PDPを駆動する駆動部とを有している。例えば、第1基板上には、互いに対をなす第1および第2電極と、第1誘電体層と、第1電極の延在する方向と交差する方向に延在する複数のアドレス電極と、保護層とが順次積層される。第2基板上には、アドレス電極に沿って延在する複数の隔壁が設けられる。例えば、駆動部は、アドレス期間に、表示ライン毎に、アドレスパルスをアドレス電極に選択的に印加するアドレスドライバと、パルス幅が0.7μs以上0.9μs以下のスキャンパルスを、各表示ラインの第2電極に順次印加するスキャンドライバとを有している。この結果、誤放電を防止できる。
