Abstract

　ＬＥＤパッケージ（光源）（１１）及び導光板（１４）を備えたバックライト装置（３）において、ＬＥＤパッケージ（１１）の導光板側に当該導光板（１４）の入射面（１４ａ）に対向するように設けられるとともに、ＬＥＤパッケージ（１１）からの光を導光板（１４）に向かって出射する光出射部（１２）を設ける。また、光出射部（１２）では、その入射面側での導光板（１４）の厚さ方向の寸法が当該導光板（１４）の入射面（１４ａ）での厚さ方向の寸法以下に構成されるとともに、二次元のフォトニック結晶（１２ａ）が用いられている。
