Abstract

本発明の表示装置用照明装置12は、並列配置される管状光源17と、前記管状光源17のそれぞれの端部を覆うカバー部材20と、を備え、前記管状光源17の両端部には電極41が配設され、前記カバー部材20には、前記電極41と電気的に接続する導電用端子24が組み付けられていることを特徴とする。すなわち、カバー部材20に、本来有する機能である管状光源17の端部を覆って視認不能とする被覆機能に加えて、管状光源17と外部電源とを接続する導電接続機能を付与した。これにより、表示装置用照明装置12の組立作業効率を向上させるとともに、確実に管状光源17に電力を供給することが可能となる。
