Abstract

 本発明は、光路差付与構造によって生じる回折光を、光情報記録媒体の情報記録面にスポットとして集光する光ピックアップ装置用の対物レンズにおいて、使用波長の変化による回折効率の変動を小さく抑えることができる対物レンズ及びそれを用いた光ピックアップ装置を提供する。対物レンズにおける光路差付与構造を形成する複数の基礎構造の回折効率が最大となる波長を、基礎構造に応じて調整することで、トータルでの回折効率の向上を図りつつ、使用波長の変化による回折効率の変動を小さく抑えることを特徴とする。
