Abstract

 本発明は、表示素子の視認性を向上させつつ、表示装置の耐水性向上に寄与する防眩性基板を有する表示装置を提供する。  表示装置は、液晶表示素子と、その視認者側の外側で該表示素子と対向して配置される防眩性基板とを有する。防眩性基板は、平坦な透明基板と、その視認者側の外表面に設けられた被膜とを有し、防眩性基板の被膜は、触針式表面走査計で表面状態を観察したときに、正面視で前記被膜の平坦表面において、平均円状面積が80~400μm2の凸状体を有し、凸状体が、液晶表示素子の画素面積に相当するサイズで前記透明基板の表面を区画した場合に、各区画にランダムに5個以上配置され、被膜の表面粗さは、0.1~0.4μmであり、かつ被膜の外表面の水滴の静的接触角が80~130°であり、水滴保持性が、8μl以上である。
