Abstract

The combustion in an internal combustion engine comprising a combustion chamber, to which a fuel enriched with hydrogen is supplied, and comprising an electrolysis reservoir, which is connected to a combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine and in which hydrogen is obtained from water by means of electrolysis, is performed with better efficiency if potassium hydroxide is used as the electrolyte for the electrolysis in a concentration of more than 25%.
