Abstract

In the electrolytic production of hydrogen and oxygen from an aqueous solution of sodium or potassium hydroxide, the hydroxide concentration is above 40% by weight. Typically, electrolysis is effected at a temperature of 100-110 DEG C. with a hyroxide concentration of 45-50% in a bipolar filter press cell at ordinary atmospheric pressure.
