Abstract

　下位階層データに上位階層データを合成することで高品質データを形成可能なよう階層化された再生コンテンツデータの配信を行う動画像データ配信システムであって、前記動画像データ配信システムは、送信装置と受信装置とを備え、前記送信装置が、前記再生コンテンツデータを格納する送信データ記憶部と、前記受信装置が上位階層データのみを受信してから前記再生コンテンツの再生を行うまでの再生遅延時間に基づいて、前記上位階層先頭データのデータ長を決定する上位階層先頭データ長決定手段と、前記上位階層先頭データ長に基づいて定められる上位階層先頭データを、前記記憶部から読み出し、前記受信装置に送信する上位階層先頭データ送信手段と、前記上位階層先頭データに続く上位階層後続データを前記記憶部から読み出し、前記受信装置に送信する上位階層後続データ送信手段と、を備え、前記受信装置が、前記下位階層データを格納する下位階層データ記憶部と、前記下位階層データと前記上位階層先頭データ又は前記上位階層後続データとを合成する階層データ合成手段と、前記階層データ合成手段において合成された高品質データを再生する再生手段と、を備える。
