Abstract

 建設及び維持が容易な深層水リフトアップ装置が開示される。海洋の深層部に配置された取水部1と、海洋の表層部に配置された放出部2とは揚水管3により接続される。取水部1は支持索4により海底に固定される。取水部1は流れ込む深層水の速度エネルギーを圧力エネルギーに変更するディフユーザ部をもち、放出部2は揚水管3から導入された深層水の圧力エネルギーを速度エネルギーに変換するノズル部をもつ。揚水管3は軟弱なシート管により構成される。揚水管3の等価的な直径は10メートル以上とされる。このようにすれば、小さい動力により大量の深層水のリフトアップが可能となる。
