Abstract

　プラズマディスプレイパネルは、互いに対向する第１基板（１２）および第２基板（１４）を有している。第１基板（１２）は、電極対（ＸＥ、ＹＥ）、誘電体層（ＤＬ１、ＤＬ２）、アドレス電極（ＡＥ）および反射防止膜（ＡＲ）を有している。なお、電極対（ＸＥ、ＹＥ）は、第１方向（Ｄ１）に延在し、間隔を置いて配置される第１および第２バス電極（Ｘｂ、Ｙｂ）を含んで構成されている。第２基板（１４）は、第１方向（Ｄ１）と交差する第２方向（Ｄ２）に延在し、間隔を置いて配置される第１隔壁（ＢＲ）を有している。そして、互いに対をなす第１および第２バス電極（Ｘｂ、Ｙｂ）と、互いに隣接する一対の第１隔壁（ＢＲ）とで囲われる領域にセルが形成される。また、アドレス電極（ＡＥ）は、電極対（ＸＥ、ＹＥ）を覆う誘電体層（ＤＬ１）上に設けられ、第２方向（Ｄ２）に延在し、第１隔壁（ＢＲ）に対向している。反射防止膜（ＡＲ）は、誘電体層（ＤＬ１）上にアドレス電極（ＡＥ）と同じ材料で形成され、第２方向（Ｄ２）に沿って互いに隣接するセルの間に配置されている。この結果、明室コントラストを向上できる。
