Abstract

【課題】配向不良（マルチドメイン）がなく、二色比の高い光学異方性を有する積層体を簡易な操作で安定して製造できる製造方法を提供する。 　【解決手段】リオトロピック液晶化合物を含む光学異方層と基材とを備える積層体の製造方法であって、少なくとも一種のリオトロピック液晶化合物と溶媒とを含む溶液を準備する工程（１）と、工程（１）で得られた溶液を表面温度が２０°C以下の基材上に塗布し、溶液の塗布層を形成する工程（２）と、工程（２）で得られた塗布層の溶媒を揮発させ、その揮発過程でリオトロピック液晶化合物を配向させて、基材上に光学異方層を形成する工程（３）とを含む。
