Abstract

 放電開始初期においては、シールド電極が双方向電圧トリガ型スイッチを介して接地電位に接続される。その後、シールド電極内の電荷が接地電位に流れてしまうと、この電位をトリガとして、双方向電圧トリガ型スイッチの両端間が切断する。したがって、放電初期においてはシールド電極の帯電が抑制されることで放電の低下を抑制し、持続放電時にはシールド電極からアノードへの不本意な放電による不安定化を抑制することができ、かかる素子を用いることで、自動的に、放電ランプの点灯性を改善することができる。
