Abstract

 多原色画像表示の場合などのように、一つの画素を構成する2行の絵素を、1本のゲート配線を用いて選択走査しながら、反転駆動を行った場合に生じる輝度ムラを抑え、高画質の画像表示を行うことができる表示装置を提供する。縦方向に2つの行として、横方向に2つ以上の列として配置された複数の絵素(4)から構成される画素(3)と、前記画素(3)を構成する複数の前記絵素(4)に共通なゲート配線(6)と、前記ゲート配線(6)に直交して設けられたソース配線(7)とを備えた表示素子を有し、順次選択される前記ゲート配線(6)に接続された前記絵素(4)に対し、一つ前のフレームにおける極性とは異なる極性で画像表示信号を与える反転駆動を用いて画像表示を行う表示装置であって、前記画素(3)内の絵素(4)の配列が、一方の行に属する絵素(4)の画像表示信号に対する実効値の変化に伴う輝度の変化を補償するように定められている。
